Say Michigan plays MSU one year in week 5 when injuries haven't hit yet, MSU is undefeated and a top 5-10 team and Michigan beats them. Then the next game MSU loses their starting QB for the rest of the year and doesn't win a game the rest of the year and falls out of the polls. A week 12 win by Iowa over MSU isn't as good as week 5 win when MSU was healthy.
Nebraska had a very mobile QB though. Armstrong scrambled alot which lead to 0 sacks from MSU's defense. Hackenberg, while a better arm-punter than Armstrong, won't be outrunning anyone.
Dantonio doesn't disclose injury information so the website would not reflect that. Almost everyone gets "hurt" throughout a season. It might have not been season ending, but it isn't hard to get a 6th year. It happens all the time.

The return of Copeland, and hopefully a healthy Hicks, in the secondary will be huge. We've also had multiple true freshman start back there (Including both safeties in the MSU/Michigan game) and another at corner, who should get better.
The offense, however, has a chance of being 2012 (Maxwell) level. The QB battle will be huge (obviously), but unlike 2012 where it was Maxwell and a RS Freshman Cook, we'll have an actual competition between O'Connor and Terry.
I'd probably take Indiana +16.5 against MSU. MSU is 0-6 ATS as a favorite and Indiana poses a threat to a weak secondary. I like MSU to win but Indiana to cover.

I have a feeling our student section will not be full tonight though. A mixture of the flu going around, the shitty weather tonight, and the Jewish/Muslim holidays forcing some students to go home have flooded the market with student tickets.
Agree with everything, but I think this years schedule is about easier than last years (excluding Oregon). We played @NEB, vs UM, and neutral field against OSU. This year we get all 3 at home, including 2 of them at night.
Also, if we make it to the B1GCG again we'll face an easier opponent than 2013 OSU (most likely).

Technically, nothing was promised to the big time donors. The bigger donation gets you a better seat at Spartan Stadium. The bigger donors are also allowed to request more seats than the smaller donors (8 vs 6 vs 4 vs 2) but it said clearly on the page that any requested tickets are not guaranteed
Hollis said Dantonio and all assistants will be getting raises this offseason. Narduzzi got one last year, and i'm pretty sure everyone got one 2 years ago.
At least pre-2011. Champions Classic started in 2011 with these teams playing against each other (MSU played Duke in 11, Kansas last year). Will continue for the next 3 years, at least.
Yep. Dantonio has added a few QB option runs in the playbook and there is video of Maxwell and Cook practicing the speed option in training camp. I think if Maxwell is the starter throughout the season, Cook, O'Connor, or Terry (all pretty mobile guys, level of mobility goes in that order) will get some snaps and there will be certain packages that have them run.
FWIW, Cass Tech 2015 trio, as well as Cole, Stallworth and a few other big name 2015 prospects are visiting MSU on Wednesday.
Cole, Stallworth, and Campbell were also just Crystal Balled (247 feauture) in the past half hour or so to MSU by Steve Wiltfong (National analyst). Most believe Campbell will commit to MSU tomorrow (shouldn't hurt Michigan as he wasn't really a top target).

Overall record is actually one of the last tiebreakers, so that playing cupcakes isn't an incentive.
Think of it in terms of record against the other three teams:
MSU: 2-1 (Loss to OSU)
OSU: 2-1 (Loss to Michigan and PSU)
Michigan: 1-2 (Loss to MSU and PSU)
PSU: 1-2 (Loss to MSU and OSU)
Michigan and PSU are then eliminated from the conversation and it is between MSU/OSU
