- They have superior coaches
- They always play Michigan tough (even when they were terrible they did)
- They are better than Michigan at offense, defense and special teams
- They are playing at home
- They are looking for a spot on the playoff
- We do not have a significant road win in 4 years under Hoke
- Penn State
- Don't call it at all
- Call it immediately with ~25 seconds left, Penn State likely punts and you've got a chance to return it or take a couple shots at the endzone yourself

There is no reason, outside of the "rivalry game, throw the records out the window" line of thought, that Michigan should win this game:
|2 days 8 hours ago||This is going to be a 21-28||
This is going to be a 21-28 point win for MSU, our defense may keep it from getting entirely out of hand but there's no way our offense puts up more than 10.
Our only hope is to pull a Missouri and score on a kick return, punt return, fumble recovery for a TD, and pick six.
|2 days 13 hours ago||Holy shit this just became||
Holy shit this just became amazing. It's an interesting paradox though, because even if the Lions score the TD, NO will have plenty of time left.
|2 days 13 hours ago||It's intresting to me that||
It's intresting to me that we've scored fewer and fewer points against them each year for the past decade.
It's going to irritate the hell out of me when we don't even sniff the red zone against them yet IU was able to put up 17 points.

Penalties abound. Jesus, this is terrible to watch.

I wanted a break from watching a tire fire of an offense, tuning into the Lions game was a mistake...
|2 days 18 hours ago||There are still people that||
There are still people that long for the big ten of old? Michigan is playing like the big ten of old and how is that working out for us?

10 <> 20, I guess I have no idea what you're trying to say with this.

This ND/FSU game is making me sad. I really hope we don't have to do 20 years through the college football wilderness a la Notre Dame.

Muschamp has got to go after this, right?
|3 days 8 hours ago||Let's play who is worse than||
Let's play who is worse than us in the conference.
At absolute best, I think we are the 5th worse team in the weakest (or 2nd weakest) "Power 5" conference.
Yeah, that's pretty bad. Let's have another drink.
|3 days 9 hours ago||I'm inclined to say so as||
I'm inclined to say so as well, but even the 24-0 juggernaut OSU was Hoke's teams played close (loss by 5 in Columbus and loss by 1 last year). I don't think it will be that out of hand.
|3 days 10 hours ago||At the risk of sounding like||
At the risk of sounding like I'm fellating MSU, Dantonio coming over to Coleman and having a conversation / congratulating him was pretty cool to see.
|3 days 10 hours ago||I wonder if MSU will score||
I wonder if MSU will score 21-28 points in the 4th Q?
As soon as ESPN flashes the graphic "No offensive TDs in the 4th in the past 3 games and MSU has been outscored 33-7" they punch it in. Damn.

Man, if Nate Sudfeld were in this MSU/IU game may have been alright.

I haven't seen any of the game, but catching on the posts it looks like we're getting throughly dominated.
|5 days 5 hours ago||Why not? Why don't people||
Why not? Why don't people care about professors but, for whatever reason, care about coaches? Let's be real here, are there blogs dedicated to Michigan academics a la MGoBlog? No, absolutely not. 7 of the Ivy League schools coaching positions are endowed. Stanford, Northwestern, Vanderbilt, Duke and Boston College have endowed coaching positions.
Michigan State, Rutgers, Duke and Texas Tech are looking for sponsors for theirs.
Let's not pin this on Dave Brandon.
|5 days 6 hours ago||This is what happens when||
This is what happens when you're against a person and not their position on issues. For a significant portion of the fan base there is nothing DB can do to win them back, no matter how much he capitulates to them, no matter the circumstances. They're against the person and have lost sight of what they seek to achieve.
For me, I don't fucking care if DB is the athletic director as long as the fans get what they want.
|5 days 6 hours ago||Endowment is not new and not||
Endowment is not new and not unique to Michigan at all. This is not something to be enraged about.
|5 days 14 hours ago||Nothing will happen today,||
Nothing will happen today, I'm quite sure, but it is good to know it is at least being discussed
|5 days 15 hours ago||May have been discussed||
May have been discussed already, but what incentive do varisty coaches have to not publicly say they support DB? He's their boss, after all. I'm sure they value their jobs.
I suppose they could really like him, our non-football sports do seem to be doing well, so that is definitely an option as well.
|5 days 15 hours ago||Been using the blog for||
Been using the blog for years, and have never had an issue I can trace to MGoBlog. I use a Mac though and people (so far) tend to not make viruses for Macbooks, at least not yet.
|6 days 17 hours ago||This is exciting, but I am so||
This is exciting, but I am so depressed about the state of the AD and football. A firing doesn't automatically mean things get better, so I suppose cautiously optimistic is the best way to describe how I feel.
What if we get a bad hire at AD who hires a bad football coach? Just more years of crap. I don't know. /sighs
|6 days 18 hours ago||5th? I mean, I know we have||
5th? I mean, I know we have a lot to replace, but we did just post a more efficient offense last year when having to replace Burke and McGary. I have faith.

I fret over the Rutgers game. It's a very different story if we are 2-1 in the conference instead of 1-2. *Sigh*
|1 week 7 hours ago||People seem to assume that OP||
People seem to assume that OP means that we're good, when really, I think s/he means we're just maybe not quite as bad as we thought. Of course, debating between possibly going 3-9 and 6-6 is, well, I'm not even sure if it's worth it.

Oct 25th against MSU would be prime for him to break a return for the TD.
|1 week 17 hours ago||There are two||
There are two options
Calling it with 3 seconds left gives Penn State a Hail Mary shot and Michigan virtually nothing (remote possibility of a pick six)
|1 week 17 hours ago||This past week I booed as||
This past week I booed as Hoke took another inexplicable timeout** (continuing to demonstrate his complete incompetence as an in-game coach). The guy behind me tapped me on the shoulder and called me a "coward" for "booing the team".
I politely told him that I was not booing the players, but the continued mismanagement of the football team and program in general. He said that you cannot separate the two. I told him I respectfully disagree and went upon my merry way.
Thoughout the remainder of the game (so the second half, basically) he and his buddy would just chant "Coward! Coward" at me and do the "You suck" chant hand motion toward me. It was, interesting. I bit my tongue though, surprisingly.
He didn't look familiar to me, so I wonder if I will see him at the Indiana game.
**The timeout with 3 seconds left in the half to give Penn State a shot at a Hail Mary and us essentially nothing (very remote possibility of a pick six). Either you call it when there's the ~25 seconds on the clock and they likely punt and you can either return it or get a couple shots at the endzone or you don't call it at all IMO
