the just released schedules were a flat-out statement that the B10 doesn't believe SOS will matter in playoff selection

I mean, there's no reason he should feel obligated to publicly state that it was clean, so good on him, as the aussies say. |

TWIS is great, except when it's in reference to our in-state rival. Then we're above that. Sincerely, This Thread |

If GRIII is playing at the 3, as Beilein claims, then yes they will be playing predominantly at the same position. |
| 4 weeks 2 days ago | Agree |
This will 3rd time now that he has promised two bigs in the upcoming season (this is not a complaint just a fact). Point to injuries and what not, but it still hasn't really happened. I'm not saying it won't happen, but I imagine we're going to be looking at 25-30 minutes for Irvin, which would be impossible without GRIII still getting run at the 4. Regardless, we really are starting to have some depth across the board. |

| 8 weeks 2 days ago | 15 Turnovers |
Interesting that they've lost every game where they forced fewer than 15 turnovers and won every game, save one, where they score more. Looks like we have a magic number. |

| 11 weeks 6 days ago | Did Digger |
Did Digger really say Burke shouldn't be in the conversation for player of the year? Why does ESPN think we want people who just say things for the sake of stirring up reaction? I'm so tired of listening to the Diggers, Dakichs, Mark Mays, and Skip Baylesses of the world. |
| 18 weeks 1 day ago | Right |
You mention when it actaully might be better to go beneath a screen, and that's if the ballhandler is a much bigger threat to penetrate than connect from outside. |
| 18 weeks 1 day ago | Advantage/Disadvantage |
Players are almost always taught to go over a screen no matter whether the other defender is hard or soft hedging. I'd say the danger in soft hedging is that with a good screen, you are actually more likely to give up an open 3. I believe the Nebraska coach was quoted saying as much and was basically gambling that Burke wouldn't be hot from 3. |

"12-0 teams generally don't have this many question marks coming into the season." I can name two this past season: ND and OSU. 9-3 would be pretty disappointing given the schedule. |
| 18 weeks 4 days ago | The punt interference was |
The punt interference was a terrible call. The ND player did all that was physically possible to avoid (and he did avoid contact) the returner after he gave the late fair catch signal. It was his own teammate that got in the way. |
| 19 weeks 4 days ago | Clowney |
Clowney did get a holding call on Lewan and blew him up once late when he nailed Denard behind the LOS. But on the whole, Lewan at the least held his own. |
| 21 weeks 6 days ago | At least |
At least Forcier has that pooch punt down. |
| 23 weeks 13 hours ago | No question about it |
Only so much midwest talent to go around the B10 + Butler. Purdue has been the biggest loser, which isn't a good thing unless you're fat and on a reality tv show. |

| 28 weeks 4 days ago | I would be shocked |
I would be shocked if Yogi isn't starting at PG from Day 1. That was by far IU's biggest weakness last year. Hulls was caught in a bit of a Stu scenario but would be far more effective at SG. |

but I see no objective reason for either Stanford or South Carolina to be ranked ahead of us. Stanford "lost" to ND in OT and to Wash, who RR just destroyed last night. South Carolina lost to LSU and Fla. |
| 30 weeks 9 hours ago | People have unrealistic expectations |
This is a good defense whether or not people want to admit it. Our wide outs are not good enough to beat their tight coverage on the outside as evidenced by Gardner falling over on one play and dropping a key pass on another. The bubble wasn't there because they put their corners 2 yards off the LOS. So they stack the box. Our whole offense this season has been based on the zone read and they were able to take it away for the most part. So what do you expect from Borges as a playcaller? Abandon everything? Air it out like ND? If we had executed better, and I don't mean just Denard, I mean Mealer on the screen to Toussaint on the second series, eliminating penalties, drops, this game would have been a reasonably comfortable victory. People thought going into ND that we should air it out. Their secondary was vulnerable. Denard had maybe improved his accuracy. It didn't work. Now we go relatively conservative and people jump all over Borges. The man can't win. All of that being said, I thought he was being a little overly stubborn in the 3rd quarter with the zone read, especially on first down. I think it was the second drive where, for example, he busted out the play action on 2nd down instead of 1st down and it got batted down. Regardless, I still have faith that the man knows what he's doing and I don't think people give him the credit he deserves from game to game adjustments. |
| 31 weeks 5 days ago | I'm not |
I'm not sure if that's accurate or not, but regardless we'll still be able to get a lot more minutes from the bench, even if it's only 3 people. |

| 36 weeks 6 days ago | So your argument is |
If you just ignore Alabama and LSU then the conferences are equal? That's like saying consider the B12 but ignore OU and Texas. Or the Pac12 and ignore USC and Oregon. There is absolutely no doubt that the SEC is considerably stronger than the B10. |

| 38 weeks 6 days ago | Not surprising, no. |
But his 2011 campaign was also pretty meh in comparison to his '10 ACC Rookie of the Year season. I imagine he'll serve their needs adequately but just thought it was worth adding that he will without a doubt be a step down from Wilson. |
