“The player development is the main thing I like (about Michigan),” Williams said. “You can see that they develop their players. They get them in the gym and they work them hard. And their hard work pays off.”

I'm glad he's on my team. I'm a little worried Funchess is going to be a bit uneven, posting some big-time games and some duds. But woah, he is our best outside receiver since Braylon, sorry Manningham, if he can be consistent.
Note: with all love to Jeremy Gallon's heart and production, Funchess is 9 inches taller and might be faster.

Agree with everyone else. This feels like the "hype" video of a scrappy program that hasn't accomplished anything in decades. Sadly feels almost true as the years (8) since we were nationally relevant continue to pile up.
I gotta say though. I talked myself so low on this team and so has everyone else. When is the last time we came into a season with this 8-4 or 7-5 malaise/expectation? In the RR era we were praying for 7-8 wins. Now we're down on the team and have tempered expectations.
I'm starting to believe we are destined for a sneaky bounceback season. 8-1 in the games we're favored in at least 1 win against Ohio or State, and we've got a 9-10 win season. The defense has two senior starters on the line (one All-B1G caliber), two senior starters at linebacker (one All-B1G caliber), three upperclassmen starting in the secondary, and whatever impact Jabrill can give us.
Someone tell me we can't surprise against a joke schedule with only 3 ranked opponents.
Note: To hell with ND. I want to beat them sure, but I can accept that loss if it means we sweep our patsy slate of home games and beat one of our real rivals.

Thanks for the tip, Operation Spots looks like a pretty good place to look with multiple perspectives.

Yeah I realized that, but I probably won't download anything until near the season starts as there is a little more information. Plus, I am much more interested in how Michigan people would rate Michigan and its opponents than some LSU fan.

I don't actually say Ohio, but in these parts I use Ohio and OSU interchangeably for brevity's sake. As in: I hate Ohio, State, and ND. Everyone knows what you mean.

I respectfully will never believe a team's best shot at Saban is in a year they are breaking in a first year starting QB, big-time recruit or not.

This is so Michigan fan it hurts. "Next year" is the year guys, I promise. While I do agree we may have a chance at being competitive in the B1G in 2015 with Ohio and Sparty at home, I still doubt we'll be anything near the national power we'd need to be to topple Saban.

Watching a mediocre team face mediocre to poor competition 7 times for $300 is silly. Without 2 or 3 marquee games, you get no value. It's too easy to find a ticket for $20 (or less for the Akrons of the world). If I weren't graduating, I'd rather buy tickets for 4 or 5 games for like $75 and watch a couple noon snoozefests on television.

Pretty fascinating to look at the trends here. Most teams pretty much holding steady during this stretch except outlier '14 seasons for Nebraska and Indiana as well as a yearly decline at Purdue.

By this logic we might as well throw away the 2013 Final Four banner though. Take away a couple free throws from a far worse human being than any of the fab five and 1989 has the same banner.

Did you watch tonight? 15 wins is no foregone conclusion with another road game and two home games against desperate bubble teams.
|21 weeks 5 days ago||This. I think expanding the||
This. I think expanding the lower bowl would be most helpful for the Penn State/Northwestern/Nebraska type games. If double the students got good seats, fewer people would blow the game off to watch on tv. Plus, having more students close to the action in a more unified block of seats would bolster the environment for these games that can sometimes have the intensity of a tennis match.
|21 weeks 5 days ago||In a perfect world, DB||
In a perfect world, DB revamps seating this offseason to bolster the environment and better match the Izzone at Breslin (who get 1,400 lower bowl seats). My plan (below) would probably not quite match that total, but would just about double the Maize Rage presence near the court to 1,200.
|21 weeks 5 days ago||You make some good points,||
You make some good points, but part of being a premier program is acting like it. Perception is reality in college sports, and the more Michigan basketball behaves like the bluebloods (Kansas, Kentucky, North Carolina, Duke, etc.) the more it will become one of them. Obviously if Michigan rolled out a new seating plan emphasizing students in the lower bowl prior to the 10-11 season it would've been a complete flop.
That being said, revamping the student seating would almost definitely spur demand even more. Also, it's important for entering freshmen to perceive basketball as a hot ticket and also be pleased with the student section experience. It's difficult when only 650 out of 3000 get the full experience, especially for the non marquee games.

Try $40 per game. I'm a senior and I think they were $28 my freshman year. I get that DB is aware that students have been selling premium games for huge profits, but $40 to see Akron and Central is crazy (even for Indiana and Minnesota). I was physically injured and unable to attend most of the games so I had to try and sell my tickets. Couldn't find a $10 buyer for Akron this year.

I am a student (departing senior). I posted this. Explain the upside of attending noon games against terrible teams. What plenty of students see is an expected boring blowout.
