"The University of Illinois is also in turmoil. The university sports an Interim Chancellor, an Interim Athletic Director, and an Interim Football Coach; the game will be played at Soldier Field, making this an Illini Interim Home Game."

Feel bad for you if you don't get tingly feelings watching Steph Curry heat up or the Spurs ball movement make music or Anthony Davis do all manner of freak things. Oh well

Cool story bro I know... But I played freshman Denard (when he was a relative nobody other than the one magical TD) in NCAA Football when visiting UM as a high school senior.

A more tepid crowd slash home field advantage hurts on the field as well as in recruiting. Hurts fans who enjoy tailgating for longer than 8am to 11am, and the environment is also less fun than games finishing at sunset or under the lights.
Sure, we should have a few noon games a year (MAC snacks, IU/Rutgers/Maryland, Ohio State in late November), but not throwing in a night game along with a couple 3:30 starts would be stupid.

We all read about the male modeling stuff, but add in that accent and I'd be very uncomfortable introducing Blake to any girlfriend or wife of mine. Mr. Steal Yo Girl times a billion.
Oh and he seems like a smart, confident, and composed guy too. Still one of the nation's best punters.

Pretty sure he's in his mid to late 20s. Guy's had some info in the past, but recruiting is too weird to believe this is for sure.

Well two whole classes will have gone through four years at each school without playing each other by the time the series returns in 2016, it's hard to argue that we're barely in the same conference.

LSU may well be somewhat of an outlier, but I mean since 1960 they are 231-61-4 at night in Tiger Stadium and 29-26-3 earlier in the day. Since 2000, they are 65-6 at night and 27-8 during the afternoon.
Sometimes the atmosphere doesn't matter because the road team is better, more prepared, or what have you. But night crowds are louder and more of a factor in tight games. See: UTL.
Edit: This may not matter for a seemingly atrocious Maryland team. But in general, arguing against night crowds being more formidable seems folly.

The rankings are IRRELEVANT at this stage. If Michigan were a 12-1 B1G champion, we would be in 95% of the time (there remains a remote chance that the SEC, ACC, B12, and P12 finish with undefeated champions). Winning all the games, however, remains a tall task.

Haven't heard of this before but love the idea. Could make the look of The Game even more iconic.

The superior chant is "It's Great, To Be, A Michigan Wolverine". It's got a nice little rhythm to it and has pretty much the same message.

Also both those road games were in Evanston in front of crowds that were viturally split. One was M00N and the other required the Dileo slide.
|9 weeks 2 days ago||Well we're 2-8 in our last 10||
Well we're 2-8 in our last 10 road games, and it's been since 2012 since we beat a team on the road by more than one score. It's incredibly dangerous to elevate expectations too much after just one excellent performance. Being a great football team is about consistent performance, and Michigan (in particular Rudock and the offense) has not proven capable quite yet. That being said, I do like our chances to reverse this trend and run all over the Terps, but by a scoreline more like 27-13 than the 48-3 romp it seems some might be expecting.

I hate the Cowherd style of sports radio. Take sports too seriously? Check. Hot takes to grab headlines? Check. Take calls from idiots and to create content that just end up in diatribes/rants? Check. Prediction radio? Check.
If you've never listened to Le Batard and Stugotz, they do none of this. They parody sports radio. They don't take it too seriously. Stugotz plays a caricature of the #hotsportstake guy for Dan and his producer/cohosts to lambast. This is what he does. He has no expertise, talks only from his gut, and is nearly always proven wrong. It's part of the show. This was NOT an ESPN personality saying Indy is still in play.
Carry on with your day folks.

If an 18 year old doesn't like one coach/school, why would he like another? Cause like, it's just his opinion man. Just because a kid isn't happy with his situation and transfers, it doesn't mean he would hate Jim Harbaugh. Frankly, nobody knows how the situation could/would play out. I'm neither holding my breath hoping for him to end up in Ann Arbor nor hoping he doesn't come for his incompatible "mentality". It's unfair to assume you know everything about a kid from the internet speculation that is all you know about him.

Pretty substantial blow that it's not a 3:30 game in the crowd department.

Must-win? We're no playoff team and a loss would do nothing to our longshot B1G hopes. I would count Northwestern, Minnesota, and Penn State as games that are similarly loseable and more important.
|10 weeks 6 days ago||From what I watched of the||
From what I watched of the two BYU games, their passing game is more focused on using their side advantage on the outside than attacking with slot ninjas. They've got two 6'5''ish guys, so it will be a big test for our CB2s, and even though I think Lewis will hold up well, it will be a challenge for him as well.

|11 weeks 4 days ago||I don't necessarily disagree||
I don't necessarily disagree with this sentiment, but I would say that a huge percentage of blue chip recruit 18 year olds are at least a little like this. As important as a year or two of seasoning physically is, even the "blue collar" types need a year or two to get accustomed to the demands of life a major college football player.
Anyway, I'm not waiting with bated breath to find out if he's looking into Michigan again, but I wouldn't write him off as a distraction if he did end up in Ann Arbor.

Seems to me like he should just go back to the northeast wherever the best fit is. BC, UMass, UConn, Rutgers, Temple, and the like would probably all love to have him.
