The only changes I'd make if I were an NFL exec would be moving Glasgow up to Middle Rounds, and maybe dumping Smith and Magnuson down a level. Otherwise a pretty accurate grouping of our prospects to me though it's too early to know before the combine has even taken place.

I don't think Willie got much if any time, which comes as a surprise. I would have guessed he'd be a pretty good pro from the start.

Agreed. I don't understand who everyone thinks we get. Even if M closed on Solomon, Gay, and Becton, we still probably lose Herbert. That would put us at 29, 30 if we added Martin. Which two other players would be better additions than Nico?

Would guess lightly recruited and troubled kids would be the most interested out of high school. Would become a new alternative to JUCO for those that get dismissed for arrests, breaking team rules, and grades.

Look I love Harbaugh and think he's raised the floor very quickly. But it's WAY too early to start chalking up tough road wins. Michigan is 0-14 against ranked teams on the road (23-27 overall on the road) since beating #2 Notre Dame in South Bend back in 2006. Neutral site games they are 3-6 (sure, 2-0 against Florida is great). I'd be absolutely thrilled to go 2-1 between UF in Dallas, @PSU, and @Wisconsin, especially with this young team.
Yes, Harbaugh is better than that suggests, sitting 6-3 on the road and 1-1 at neutral sites. He still lost at a very average Iowa team and very easily could have lost to Minnesota and Indiana in 2015. I'm not expecting an 8-win team in 2017, but 10 wins will be a much more difficult goal for next year's team than it was this season.
|1 week 1 day ago||A valid dose of perspective.||
A valid dose of perspective. HOWEVA, looking at our roster and schedule, a 10 win season is about all that can be expected again in 2017. That stability is something to celebrate, but the purgatory below the B1G Championship and CFP is still frustrating, especially after such a promising team fell short.

IF Harbaugh could add Willie Gay and either Solomon or Tufele, a defensive made of the top 'croot at each spot looks amazing:
Still pretty great if Gay heading to LSU forces a move of Singleton or JKP to VIPER. Really would like one of those two NTs though.

Georgia has Top 10 classes every year. This year they are dominating their state and the state of Georgia produced a crazy amount of talent in this class (not unusual, but seriously wow). They have 13 commits in-state that rank in the Top 150 nationally, which is INSANE.
|1 week 6 days ago||There are some classic||
There are some classic tell-tale signs for certain injuries. Considering the extended hospital stay and unusual nature of this one, speculation about the specifics as well as the recovery path is impossible. Harbaugh keeps this kind of information under wraps, and as much as I (and everyone else here) would like to know more on his status, we probably won't for some time.
The reason for optimism is that Webb seems to think he may be back, and he hasn't been ruled out completely yet. Even so, I think it'd be better for his and Michigan's future to have him sit out 2017 and continue rehabbing his knee and strengthening his lower body back to equilibrium. He'd redshirt and have two years left IF he came back in good enough shape to play Big Ten football.
Best of luck to the kid, because the lengthy hospital stay made it sound like having a regular life might be at risk, much less playing football again.

Any chance we can get a "Way-Too-Early Seth Predicts the Starting Lineup FFF Style" chart? It's one of my favorite bits of each game week. Obviously it helps give you an idea of where an opponent's strengths are. It makes sense to wait a week or two to find out about Peppers and where a bit more of the attrition may come from, but it's a great visual.

Yeah, I'll own that mistake. Rocky Top is pretty much all I know about Tennessee apart from their checkerboard endzones and whining about Peyton Manning not winning the Heisman.
|2 weeks 15 hours ago||Drawing an arbitrary line at||
Drawing an arbitrary line at top 150ish will never tell the whole story. Kinnell, Newsome (an injury wild card, I realize), Winovich, and Hurst were all top 300 recruits. Wheatley, Bunting, and JBB barely missed that cutoff. Other than JBB, all of those guys figure to be impact players in 2017 and beyond.
Most of that group had serious interest from solid Power 5 programs or better and would project as strong contributors. We all understand the need to add elite players to the roster, but discounted some for being "low 4-stars" despite their considerable potential on the field is dumb. Hurst is ticketed for the NFL eventually, and I'd guess a couple more of these guys will join him.

I agree, we should do what we can to play the SEC. But Arkansas isn't even in the top half of teams from that conference I would like to play home-and-home. My tiered list:

|3 weeks 15 hours ago||Recruiting is weird. The||
Recruiting is weird. The whims of 17 year old kids cause all this second guessing. Really, we were in the top 2 or 3 for a handful of guys and just missed. Sometimes you lose to Alabama. More importantly, Harbaugh got his top guy at QB, WR, and C with RB still a possibility.
Bredeson and Onwenu project as multi-season starters moving forward at the guard spots. Ruiz should fill in nicely at center in 2018 after Mason Cole departs. It's disappointing to not have an obvious LT of the future on the roster or committed, but given the quality elsewhere on offense I'm sure we'll manage. Hoping Filiaga fills that role and one of the other OT commits can develop into a strong RT.
|3 weeks 16 hours ago||Filiaga, Solomon/Tufele,||
Filiaga, Solomon/Tufele, Najee, Collins, and Gay in that order.
Assuming we got only one of the NTs and an RB decommits in reaction to a Najee commitment, that puts us at 30. Whoever Harbaugh deems necessary to fill out the class after that would be fine with me. I'd assume it would only be 1 or 2 more anyway and nobody else on the board really catches my eye from a talent or need perspective if we got the above group.
|3 weeks 1 day ago||They are already factored||
They are already factored into these numbers. A return for either would mean Harbaugh is looking for yet another scholarship from elsewhere.
|3 weeks 1 day ago||Quite a few more? Hill,||
Quite a few more? Hill, Hurst, and McCray have indicated that they are returning. O'Korn, Isaac, and Poggi seem likely to stay. Dawson/Kugler are a bit murkier but departures would probably be their choice. Leaving out one name that you can do your own math on.
|3 weeks 6 days ago||It's clear he acted||
It's clear he acted inappropriately in some way, but let's not go crazy about this just yet. Everyone has a right to their personal space, but we weren't there and don't know what happened. It doesn't appear that the "victim" was overpowered or harmed physically or mentally.
Seems likely he was disrespectful to the woman in some way, and didn't behave to the standard of a Michigan athlete. He compounded the mistake by running when confronted by police. That's the story until we have all the facts.
|4 weeks 14 hours ago||Impossible to say without the||
Impossible to say without the combine and draft prep. Considering he didn't really get starter reps all year, he's a bit under-the-radar nationally. Given the offseason for scouts to watch the film (especially while scouting Taco, Wormley, and Glasgow), a few teams probably would have fallen in love with him.
I'd guess he'd go on Day 2, but he's tough to project. Now that he's staying, an excellent year as the leader of UM's DL could vault him into Round 1 or at least solidify him as a no-brainer Day 2 prospect.
|4 weeks 15 hours ago||FWIW, Kiper has him as his #3||
FWIW, Kiper has him as his #3 Fullback (paywalled link):
Kiper on Hill: "I just love Hill's stat line this season: 25 carries, 39 yards and 10 touchdowns, with a longest run of four yards. The 6-2, 263-pounder has some hands, too -- he has 14 catches for 105 yards and another two scores."
|4 weeks 2 days ago||I did forget about that||
I did forget about that travesty of an ending. Still, Izzo teams usually get better as the season moves along and it may be too early to count them out. Even if they miss the tourney as it appears they will, I'm hesitant to say they are/will be on the downslide due to one mediocre season.
|4 weeks 2 days ago||Just one, but Wichita State||
Just one, but Wichita State is #26 in Kenpom. They were level with Arizona (#20) with about 10 seconds left but lost that one. I definitely think Michigan is better and has a shot at sweeping the Spartans this year though.
|4 weeks 2 days ago||No. They aren't THAT bad. MSU||
No. They aren't THAT bad. MSU notoriously schedules very tough and has 4 losses to Top 20 Kenpom teams (two of which, neutral site vs Arizona and @Duke, were close). A home loss to Northeastern certainly should sound some alarm bells and put their annual tourney bid in jeopardy, but there is plenty of time for Izzo to salvage this season to some degree.
Lose to Oakland on Wednesday and then I would officially press the panic button.
|4 weeks 5 days ago||And the mythical #1 class||
And the mythical #1 class doesn't matter anyway. The goal every year is maximize talent, fill major needs, and hopefully beat our rivals head-to-head for elite prospects. If that ends in #4, we still gucci. What hurts here is that the goal of stockpiling OL has taken a sizeable hit.
Otherwise, we brought in a big influx of talent. Need to hit on a big DT/NT type, hopefully close strong at LB, and it would be nice to retain Samuels or flip Harris. The roster will get a nice upgrade from this class regardless.

|5 weeks 17 hours ago||I don't know what the||
I don't know what the consensus number is at linebacker. We have Ross and Mason (possible FB) on the inside and seem in good position to land at least 2 of Anthony, Singleton, and Gay. Are there any other names out there at LB? If there's room late, maybe it's a spot that Harbaugh takes a flier on an under-the-radar type.
