"This is really important to be here," Lewan said. "I'm here to give back and help out my teammate."

In 2011 OSU's offense was a train wreck and their defense was nothing special. That Hoke was able to beat that team doesn't tell us anything about this year's game. OSU this year appears to be the most loaded team in the nation. We have what looks to be an average offense and a good but not dominant defense. By any objective standard, they should be heavily favored to beat us.

Poor finisher, but she's big and fast and always gets in the other team's grill. She's perfect for getting behind the defense on the counter when the other team is chasing the game. Wambach is better at breaking down (or going over the top of) a packed defense, but she isn't ideal for 90 minutes anymore. Ideally the US can take a lead and sub LeRoux for Wambach at about the 60 minute mark.

1-0, 4-3, whatever. The US is a much better team than Colombia, but so is France and Colombia squeaked it out against France. They're feisty.
I hope the US wears the blue uniform instead of the idiotic white uniform that looks like New Zealand on acid.

Mora has never played or coached at a private school, though. His father coached at D-III Occidental and then spent one year as an assistant at Stanford in 1967. That doesn't sound like enough to give him a strong impression of D-I private schools, although of course he could have just picked stuff up from other coaches he's worked with.

I think it's Steve Sarkisian. He was an assistant for Pete Carroll, who has a long-running beef with Harbaugh. He has also recently coached at both public (Washington) and private (USC) schools.

I'd like more 4- and 5-star guys as much as the next guy, but the recruits we've gotten so far are the sort of players that Harbaugh coached up at Stanford to win consistently as 4th year juniors and 5th year seniors.

Pros are better athletes. It's not debatable. Stronger and faster.

It looked like a pro team against a pickup team.

To me 17 on any defensive player is Larry Foote.

In the book, Selyse would do that but Stannis wouldn't. They got that backwards.

It's frustrating to come up just short, but there's no shame in losing a hard-fought 3-game series to a super-elite team.
M should be in very good shape for next year. We return 10 proven good hitters: Lindsay Montemarano had the worst batting line of any of the regulars, and her OBP was .427! Amanda Vargas (OBP .400/slug .596) and Taylor Swearingen (.402/.627) had to come off the bench. The only question about the offense next year is whether it will break the single season record for runs scored. The pitching is Betsa and ???, so it would help greatly if Driesenga is granted a medical redshirt and comes back close to 100%.

Wagner only had to throw 81 pitches, so she should be good to go this evening.

Hutch was telling her to try to score, but Romero's mind was apparently somewhere else and she just had a brainfart. It happens to everyone, but Romero was unfortunate to have one at a very inopportune time. The only thing I really fault her for is wearing too much eye black.

Best: New Mexico. Simple, distinctive, geographically appropriate, and just looks cool. Runner-up: South Carolina. That moon is sweet.
Worst: Mississippi. The secesh flag belongs in a museum. Runner-up: N-way tie between every state that uses a seal on a bedsheet. State seals are meant to be looked at up close. Flags have to be recognizable from a distance.

As a cancer survivor myself (treated in 2001 and 2002 at the UM hospital) I entirely agree with F*CK CANCER. I hope they caught it early and that it hasn't spread at all.

The series (tv or books) couldn't plausibly end with Ramsay becoming king, because he is too brutal and erratic to hold onto power. He'd most likely be done in by his own subordinates before too long, just as Caligula was.

Did she get a medical redshirt for this year? She appeared in 7 games early in the season.
|6 weeks 4 days ago||good summary||
Cal is the other team I follow, having spent 4 years there before my 9 years at M. Cal this year is basically M without Betsa and Wagner. It's about as hard to score 6 runs per game in the Pac as it is to get 8 runs a game in the B1G, but Cal's pitchers are just serviceable whereas M's are elite.

is that white isn't one of our colors. It's a Sparty color. That uniform doesn't look bad, but it isn't right for us.

"University of Wisconsin" was technically correct in her case, but it's misleading. Probably 99% of people outside the state would assume that "University of Wisconsin" means the Madison campus.
|9 weeks 4 days ago||UC campuses||
All of the UC campuses are under a single set of regents, unlike UM and MSU which have their own regents (or trustees, as MSU calls them).

But on the list of core goals, 1a (if not 1) has to be to avoid scandals and not embarrass the university. Penn State didn't have a problem with graduating players or winning games.

Excluding people I knew personally, I'd go with Ritter. She was the key player on the first cold-weather team to break through and win a softball title.
That said, I would consider both baseball and softball to be minor sports because they draw crowds in the hundreds and don't get much media attention. To me, hockey and women's basketball are on the fence between major and minor.

I think I had him second behind Henry. He probably has a lower ceiling than most of the others, but I put more weight on performance to date than on potential. I put Lewis ahead of Peppers too.

I'd expect all 6 of those guys to play more (if healthy) than all but the top 2 or 3 who are listed at DE. I'd expect 3 of them to be in the game when we run the 3-4ish defense they were talking about.
