He may have Brady Hoke's instincts about offense but if they offered him HC on the condition that he picked an OC familiar with their current offense, I don't think he'd refuse. Assuming he was open to being HC to begin with.

Minor point, but if M is the 2 overall seed, that works out to ND being around 31 and NTM being around 34. I wouldn't think that NTM beating ND would be viewed as much of an upset.
|4 days 18 min ago||it's possible that Benjen was following the zombie horde||
Before he disappeared, he was the first ranger of the Night's Watch, so his tracking skills should be outstanding. It isn't plausible that Meera would be able to drag Bran back to the Wall all by herself without being caught by zombies, and Coldhands hasn't appeared in the show at all.

She should have played along with Littlefinger and gotten him to bring the Vale troops north, then given him the you-suck speech in front of Yohn Royce and all the other Vale leaders after they dispose of the Boltons.
|4 days 32 min ago||Howland Reed||
He doesn't appear in the first 5 books at all, because he has no reason to. He's the local ruler of the Neck, and that's where he stays. His military forces have an active conflict with the ironmen for most of the time period of the first 5 books.
|4 days 40 min ago||no, he's still an idiot||
I'll give him cunning, but he has zero ability or inclination to see the big picture or think long term. If he had even ignored Jeyne Poole instead of abusing her, she wouldn't have been inclined to flee and he would have been able to convince people that Arya Stark consented to marry him. Likewise if he had treated Theon the way the Starks did after they captured him, he might not have been inclined to help Jeyne escape. Theon only betrayed the Starks after Robb sent him by himself to the Iron Islands, where he was surrounded by Greyjoy loyalists.

while Hodor held the door against the zombie horde trying to bust it down.
|4 days 16 hours ago||in the books, Ramsay is an idiot||
and characters are always done in by their unforced errors. Ned, Cat, Robb, Joffrey, Tywin, all of them. Ramsay makes unforced errors every time he appears on the page. For some reason, the show's creators have chosen to show him as an evil genius instead of an evil idiot, but if he ends up as ruler of anything it won't be because of any of Martin's input.

pro: more money, at least in the short run
con: we don't need the money, it looks ridiculous, and it sounds like the sort of thing Dave Brandon would think up in one of his less lucid moments
|1 week 3 days ago||yep||
I fully expect the Umbers to betray the Boltons, especially after they see all the Vale troops coming up to attack them. The Umbers still have a score to settle with the Boltons over the Red Wedding.
|1 week 4 days ago||nah||
Having Jon kill Ramsay mano a mano while everyone else is either standing around watching or conveniently absent would be the type of dumb action-movie cliche that the series is usually good about avoiding. A more fitting end would be for him to be shanked by his own people like Caligula was.

Brandon Graham's number. 3 is a DB's number. The first guy who comes to mind is Todd Howard.

You don't like droopy eye black?
|2 weeks 3 days ago||doubt it||
Sure the Umbers don't like the wildlings, but the head of their house was betrayed and murdered by the Boltons and their allies at the Red Wedding. I think it's more likely that they'll pretend to cooperate with the Boltons, accompany them north to the Wall, and then backstab them once the fighting starts.
|2 weeks 3 days ago||swampers||
In the books the ironborn (!) keep pissing and moaning about how the crannogmen are dirty fighters, using poisoned arrows and the like. You don't F with swamp people.
|3 weeks 3 days ago||betray||
In the books, both the Manderlys and (some of) the Umbers are ostensibly cooperating with the Boltons, because Jon Umber and Wylis Manderly were taken prisoner at the Red Wedding. As for whether this is on the level, stay tuned.
|3 weeks 3 days ago||archrival||
I think most Spurs fans would say that their archrival is Arsenal, not Chelsea.
|3 weeks 4 days ago||not really||
In the books, half the Umbers are pretending to go along with Roose because Jon Umber is still imprisoned at the Twins. They haven't lifted a finger for the Boltons yet, and they probably won't.

There are plenty of available symbols of Southern pride that aren't also symbols of treason, slavery, and failure.

You just blamed LFC fans for Hillsborough. None of the LFC fans I've had contact with make any excuses for Heysel either.

Tournaments make sense when it isn't possible for every team to play every other team, such as with the NFL and any college sport. In the EPL and most other soccer leagues, every team plays home and home with every other team so schedule issues aren't a concern. Also, with tournaments some games are inevitably decided on penalty kicks which is a half-ass (if arguably necessary) way to determine a winner. The standings are the fairest way to determine the league winner.

Financially they're in the same boat with Arsenal and Liverpool, not with Leicester.

|6 weeks 6 days ago||run and walk||
I run every morning, although on most weekdays it's less than 2 miles and on many only about 1 mile. I also use an outdoor lat pull machine and chest-push machine (I don't know what it's called, you sit down but the arm motion resembles a bench press) at a park near my house a few times a week.
I work near the CA state capitol, and on my lunch hour every day I walk around the capitol park (1.1 miles) and usually further.
|7 weeks 2 days ago||the rankings aren't even the issue||
We were favored by 6 IIRC and our defense was annihilating everyone, having shut out the last 3 opponents.
|8 weeks 2 days ago||don't like the font||
It's too close to what Cal uses, and they have basically the same color scheme. I don't think our current font looks very good, but I'd rather change it to what we used against Va Tech in the bowl a few years ago or to what the hockey team uses.
I also don't like white pants. White is a Sparty color, and it seems like every team is going all-white now. The pants should always be maize, as long as it's a fairly dull shade as opposed to highlighter yellow.
