There are also wolverines out west. The issue is whether they live in any U.S. states east of the Rockies. Here's the animal's range:

Uh, when exactly was this true of ESPN?

Kam averaged 2.8 points and 1.4 rebounds per game last season. The guy frankly didn't seem like a great fit to begin with. I wasn't convinced he had the perimeter game to play heavy minutes at the four, his one clutch three notwithstanding.

That's fine. But it's naive to assume that Webber and the other three guys named in the Ed Martin scandal are the only Michigan athletes ever to take money under the table.
Again, what separates these guys from everyone else is that they had to testify because the FBI got involved. The vast majority of the time that doesn't happen. The NCAA has no subpoena power, so everyone just clams up and there's little they can do to prove wrongdoing.
If Ed Martin had been a guy with a normal job, instead of running an illegal gambling ring that got him wanted by the Feds, nothing would have come of the investigation and Webber would still be beloved by Michigan fans.

Larry Brown is one. Maybe Rick Pitino, depending on how you evaluate his NBA career - he was pretty good with the Knicks and awful with the Celtics.

You do realize that countless athletes across the nation "dishonor" their schools by taking money under the table every year, right?
The only thing that separated Webber from the 99% that get away with it is that the FBI - which has subpoena power - got involved.

How many of those games were coached by Jim Harbaugh?

We marched up and down the field on them all day. It's not like they were shutting us down for awhile before getting tired late. We punted once all game.
I really didn't see much from their D to be impressed by, but if they are legit, that's more credit to our staff for humiliating them so badly.

I'm not sure how much credit to give him for Florida given that Muschamp was the coach.

Amaker's recruiting was fine. Also, the Martin scandal only cost us one scholarship per year for four years, not that big of a deal.

The city has lost population but the metro area's population is stable. Plus, Detroit pro teams tend to be well-supported throughout the state and in parts of Ontario and northern Ohio, too.

Playoffs can also be decided on fluky factors - like the star player of a 73-9 NBA team hurting his knee at a bad time.
Don't you think it's a bit odd that we play months and months of regular-season games that decide nothing but seeding?

I don't disagree with your point but it's not in any way our fault. It wasn't our call to have Michigan State Normal College (now EMU) be established a few miles away from us.

Saratoga was a much bigger upset than Yorktown. That was strictly American forces fighting. At Yorktown, it was a combined French/American force that won.

True. But with no salary cap other than "financial fair play" (which is riddled with exceptions), a super-rich owner helps a ton.

Well, sort of. Having a super-rich sugar daddy helps a lot. Chelsea and Man City got a whole lot better when petro-billionnaires took them over.
Incidentally, Leicester is owned by a huge Thai conglomerate (King Power) and has increased its budget a fair amount since the takeover, though not on the scale of the above-mentioned clubs.
