The biggest way Jim is going to be missed is his uncanny ability to adapt to staffing changes and usually come out smelling better on the other side. It was incredible the coordinator turnover we had in his years here and somehow the team typically was collectively better and looked better on that side of the ball through each. I think Moore is going to do a fine job with all the other parts of the program my biggest fear is he doesn't have the network Jim had to reach to and he certainly doesn't have the name Jim had to draw people to work for him to better themselves. The substitution and matchup patterns in Michigan run game are unseen anywhere in football. When you have two backs like Edwards and Corum one false step is a first down and possibly 6. In my mind I typically build up some sort of distain for our next opponent throughout the season. I just couldn't find a reason not to like these guys. Don't think he has been utilized enough in a gadget role but then again Michigan didn't really need to do that to win either. Feel like Michigan has given him his touches to keep him happy. I watch how they have found Orji touches seems like the Don could have had some unique role type things to utilize his talents.
Believe the running back room next year is going to be a battle to see who is 1,2 and 3. Some real talent there any every time I see Mullings and Hall I'm like damn they gonna be players. Unsure if he does go but feel like he will
The reason in my mind it is imperative we keep Harbaugh to sustain this level of success. Lets be honest any other coach and coaching or staff shake up is likely to lead into a decline in player development. If we have to go the route of finding a coach criteria number 1 has to be player development and criteria number 2 has to be keeping the culture we have built. Those are huge mountains to climb with top end personnel change in any organization.
Beyond question the thing this staff does better then anyone in the country is find talent that fits what they are doing, bring them in teach them the scheme build their bodies and then weaponize them on the field. I have almost entirely stopped following the rankings where I used to be locked in all the time. This staff is elite in this area and why they have enjoyed the success they have. Mix in some top in end talent with their findings and you have ways to succeed. I think Ben Hall is about to make a bunch of us go wow and there was continuous grumbling taking him. I trust this coaching staff to keep us at the top
Didn't care of the Laporta or Gibbs pick man have I ever been proven wrong. The young offensive talent on this team is scary. Goff seems to feel more comfortable with the starting OL in tact. In those losses he seemed to have a little bit of the yips at time. Happy feet, throwing off schedule and Saturday night he looked like a surgeon at times! Fun to have a NFL team in Detroit that has a shot to do something!
Please for the love of all football GODS use play action to exploit them rolling the extra guy down. Do not settle for just running into stacked numbers for three yards.

IMHO and I am not some self proclaimed college football wizard but you will not turn the tide in THE GAME by losing players who have lived the pain. The margins are so small in college football its hard to just win with pure talent anymore. You have to have an established culture that passes down the generations of your program. How we got to this with where we were in 2020 is mind boggling but I am loving what Harbaugh has established. Had Stover caught the first pass we broke up they are in a very bad spot. Every throw had to be to the sideline or past the sticks. Any short pass caught and tackled short of line to gain or sack is a huge mistake in that situation
We need to have the slip bubble to a TE down the seam and I am expecting to see that in the Big Ten title game. Could not agree more. I also would like to see us go back to the fake swing pass to Edwards and leak someone deep. Get those safeties coming down hill and post behind them!
Everyone wants ultra aggressive play calling until you get failed attempts. If we go for it on the last fourth down instead of going up 6 and OSU drives down and kicks a FG to tie it and we lose in OT you feel the same way?
IMO you play to your team strength which is running ball and defense and you pick your spots to be ultra aggressive.
This years Bucknut version was tougher beyond question but just not tough enough. I can not for the life of me get over when Zinter went down and this team exploded to go back up 10. It was like a shot in the tough arm that says time to go boys. Score TD immediate 3 and out and kick FG. Salt game away time... This team like Brian described in his game review isn't about talent, isn't about coaching, isn't about all the things that typically make a college football team great. Its about the the right people at the exact right moment in time. Blake Corum could have done any number of gestures celebrating a brilliant Michigan career instead he is thinking of his teammate and flashes the 6-5. I hope this culture is sustainable but finding character guys like JJ McCarthy with supreme talent who doesn't care if he throws 7 passes in a game is going to be very hard to duplicate. Just go finishes this off boys you will go down in Michigan Lore
