Flat wage growth has been a 40 year trend. While I agree with your analysis of the impact of the 2007-8 recession, the larger trend is going nowhere, and any raises in real wages this late in the cycle are going to be erased by the next recession, even if that ends up being years down the line. Millennial and younger generations are suffering from structural trends that have been building for decades before they were even born.
This will kill football at any of the private institutions covered by the ruling, simply because it makes more sense for the NCAA and conferences to kick them out. I could only see ND and USC with a prayer of surviving as every-game-is-an-exhibition independents.
Its time for the well intentioned to stop and realize recreating the problem the NCAA was invented to solve isn't the answer. Paying players has been done. Caping coach, assistant and AD pay is a great start. Strongly reforming the rules to focus exclusively on acedemic and ametuerism violations comes next. Then actually enforcing the rules in an even handed manner and we're back to making progress. I certainly think the law can bend to have schools carry partial liabilty for injuries, but there's no need for a union to secure that.
Look, we already have 4 marquee programs. adding more just ensures one of them slips into mediocrity (and Penn State really does not need the help as it may happen to them anyhow). The conference brands are best served by additions like Maryland and Rutgers, They bring a huge footprint, new recruiting areas and access for east coast alums. These are also huge state schools pumping out thousands of B1G fans per year. The real goal is to colonize the east coast markets. I would guess if we go to 16, your prime targets are the Virginia schools. GAtech, while a great school, doesn't bring a market so i'd say no to them. Mizzou is a potential target, and i do think they would leave the SEC for the B1G, mostly for acedemic reasons.
If I did ad sales for BTN, I'd bookmark this page to pitch future clients. The first three posts are solid gold. Maybe that moves the projection up an exra Mil.
For the B1G to expand at this point. "Because everyone else is" is only a valid reason if we are asking why we should do drugs with BlueDragon and JimLahey. With four marquee brands, what does going to 16 do for anyone?
Hopkins should start. He excels at MANBALLLLL (BRAWRRRRRRR!)
It's easier to kerplode out of a double team than beat a man one on one. This is true if you are Mike Martin or Blake Countess.
Denard is made of paper mache.
If You make your pre snap reads, the spiffy new zone coverage can still get carved up. This includes reading the line first. That said, its much harder than the old "count to three and throw to the slant" method from previous versions.
I heart Denard scrambles. Except for the part at the end where all his bones get broken.
The injury thing is my only serious complaint. Someone looked at Denards injury bug last year and asked "Are his injuries the result of asking him to take so much punishment and strain that we should be glad he can still speak english, or is he just a big sissy?" It's pretty clear how they answered that one. I need to remember to check the "injury" statistic for the whole Purdue team, just to see if they were consistent.
This is not to say I'm unhappy. The changes are great and the game feels more physical than ever. You can actually run a decent defense in multi now and most of the cheese is gone/ Overall, very well done and another step forward for the franchise. Horray for CFB Methadone!
You are informed players are selling merchandise, but are asked to keep it quiet.
If you inform compliance that perhaps players need to be educated on the relevant NCAA bylaws concerning impermissable benefits, turn to page whocaresitdidn'thappen
if you do nothing. Turn to page 2

YOU ARE SLAPPED ON THE WRIST! IT STINGS SOOOOO BAD!
Even granting the confidentiality request, this is pretty simple, I should think.
I'm about 72 hours from adopting "FDB" as my official slogan. For politeness sake, we can assume "F" stands for "fail" or "fire", as it would be impolite and impolitic to assume it means" F*#&^&!", whether or not that is, in fact, the case.
absolutely nothing. All results were within the margin of error. That hardly shows a plurality.
Unless we're having fun with numbers. If thats the case, 100% of respondants at the time of this post thought this was a pile of thinly veiled crap. However 72% of said respondants were water (by mass). The rest was protein, I guess.
If someone rubbed a My Little Pony on Mike Martin and then he got a sack, we'd be demanding it on every down. Mock if you must, but fan silliness>DC sillyness.
I thought so at the beggining of the season. I thought so when wiskey beat tOSU. The D may be slightly better, but their offense isn't even close. Wisky's rushing attack should run over our D like a steamroller just on sheer mass. I'm pretty sure after today that we have a chance at least against the buckeyes,

If he wants to play, I'll let him. He likes flag football, but who knows what he'll want to do when he's in middle school.
Batman.
Pros
-Incredible S+C program
-Experienced at molding young men
-Recently relocated to Detroit
-Batpads and Bathelmets resist gunfire and knives
Cons
-Kids under his care have gotten killed before
-Nighttime vigilate activites count against Countable Hours
-Batarang training interferes with good throwing mechanics

We lost. No wonder Brian's pissed. Half the board screams at him for being "emo"; The other half cheerily waits for their B1G participation trophy.
8-4 would have been bad if we had won. WE DID NOT. WE LOST. It should make you mad or sad or something. The players did great. Played hard. So what?
We lost.
That will solve the problem.
Oh wait. I meant "Execute, everyone!"
Dear Minny,
The secret to success is continuity. If it ain't broke, and you fix it, you didn't fix it. You broke it,
Thanks!

Air Force =Umass x Denard
UMASS scores?
MICH: 35 AF: 13
MICH: 42 UMASS 0 (technically UMASS -0.0045, but only the KNOWLEDGE could possibly comprehend how it is even possible.)
0-3 vrs Borges" Lizard Brain.
Check out Desmond on Gameday. Did he fight a Balrog or something?
MSU title hopes must be sinking like a Maxwell sized stone. UPSIDE!: They could sub in said stone for slightly better QB production.
Timestamp says I posted first, but taking purdue is easier :)
Good luck to all participants!
I'll take Illinois

Personally, if they try this "SEC = god" crap with an all-SEC championship, I'll encourage everyone to protest in the only way that matters.
Don't watch.
Michigan Robot is finally getting to start.

Not much improvement needed for this segment. You could use a pair of robot arms, though.
I love Tron. /s

Marajuana really is a gateway drug. Now all these Iowa fans are hooked on Coker.
