The sacks... ...I will agree that the sacks were incredibly frustrating. O-line played well.
Complete Agreement I am in complete agreement with this statement. Brandon Minor would have made a HUGE difference in this game. I can go back to the first drive and say that, had Minor been in, Tate may not have been in the position to fumble the ball away for a touchdown. Carlos Brown is another crucial option for the offense that was missing. The running game never really got going and UM was still able to make some great plays - Roundtree and Mathews had great games. If UM avoids serious NCAA violations, things are looking very good. UM needs to keep Rodriguez. On a different, yet similar note, a few OSU fans I work with actually questioned why UM fans would want Rodriguez out if no serious NCAA violations took place. They are intelligent football guys and are worried about the potential Michigan has under Rodriguez. Once he gets his guys and this whole NCAA investigation is put to rest (hopefully it will be) I believe this team will be very dangerous.
One of the interceptions... could have been the first one... ...I forget when Tate threw his first interception, but one of them in the first half should have been disallowed due to a missed pass interference call by the referee. The defender was all over our receiver (man, I can't remember any names right now - probably because I was so incensed after the play), back turned, all over our guy, and the ball bounced off the defender or the receiver (I forget) and into the hands of an OSU safety. After the turnover OSU drove in for a touchdown... it was unlucky and an awful call (same as the non-call helmet to helmet that started the UM drive) and will forgive Tate for that one. Anyway, if Tate can learn how to avoid sacks by being a little smarter, he can be good... I'm still in the air though. I do know that Pryor is completely unimpressive
Cincinnati I agree with previous posts about Cincinnati. Sure, there are many OSU fans (I have a family full of them), but they are now a small minority compared to the number of people that have jumped on the UC bandwagon. This season has brought a lot of individuals that are tired of the arrogance and general idiocy that OSU fans display in Ohio out of the woodwork. Of course, by saying that, I am exaggerating a bit; Cincinnati loves high school football and, this year, the Cincinnati Bengals. I grew up in Cincinnati and, as a UM alum, I love seeing Dhani Jones, Leon Hall, and Morgan Trent (who has come out of nowhere - he is playing out of his mind!) play well for the team. It's probably the only place in Ohio where the true insanity of OSU fans stands out... they are truly nut-jobs; unable to blend in, they are very easy to spot - I pity them.
My only worry The only worry I have concern the possible NCAA violations. I would hate to have the football team go through what the UM b-ball team went through. I agree with the sentiments expressed by everyone in this post. I was worried about getting embarrassed by OSU all week. Now, after today, I honestly think we could have/should have won that football game. While I was frustrated at times with the insertion of D Robinson at crucial points in the game and all of the turnovers, I won't dwell on that. That's in the past. I was not impressed with OSU at all - Pryor is not the player people thought he would be yet. I see this team improving and I am excited for the future... I just hope to god there are no serious NCAA violations.
