I just LOL'd at work reading that one... |
| 1 year 28 weeks ago | Sorry to see him go... |
Best of luck Carvin at whatevers next... one question though - i'm not really seeing how it makes sense to leave now, mid-semester, mid-season? At least finish this semester of classes - you have 4 (maybe 5) games left this year - split before the bowl game and start at your new school? |

What exactly is a tunnel screen? |
| 1 year 41 weeks ago | +1 to Hoke |
Re: Big Will: "Hopefully he doesn't eat it all back in the next 8-10 days." LOL! |
| 1 year 43 weeks ago | Agreed! |
Awesome response to Tom - the part about "my coach Brady Hoke" was pretty awesome |
| 1 year 48 weeks ago | Congratulations Brian! |
Best wishes as you two start your new lives together... |

Is it me, or does it seem that Devin has supassed Denard? maybe i'm reading too much into the MGoBlue.com videos where Denard is mostly handing off and Devin throwing -- and then there's the epic Mike Martin Pick-6.

| 2 years 18 weeks ago | maybe not... |
Read a twit exchange between Mallet and Hart last night talking about how great it is that Hoke is in - Mallet indicated he would have stayed with hoke fwiw... |
| 2 years 18 weeks ago | Lets not make the same mistake as last time... |
A divided Michigan is self-defeating - we all need to rally around this new coach for better or worse... He's our coach now, nothing we say/banter will change that - lets be patient and give him time to make it work...
(for the record - i still think we should have coach rod...) |

Looks like it's on it way back to willow run... Wonder what went down? |
| 2 years 22 weeks ago | this is my vote.. |
although would be cook to have Michigan and Ohio State next to each other at the bottom. |
| 2 years 22 weeks ago | like the first... |
but seems too football oriented for their grand vision. The modified 2 would be my pick if it didn't look exactly like the pac 10 logo. |
| 2 years 24 weeks ago | agreed... |
I think RR has proven he's one hell of an offensive coordinator. Don't get me wrong - i'm not a RR hater - i actually think we should give him another year. I don't buy the improvement aspect - there are 3 phases - our special teams (which i believe he coaches) and D seem to be getting worse every year. (and isn't Threet doing well at ASU this year?) |
| 2 years 24 weeks ago | can you please plot 2006, 2007? |
interested to see how much we regressed from the end of Carr - i do attribute a lot of the attrition to RR being not intelligent enough to use players he had to morph into his system -.. not saying mallet would have stayed, but wtf were you thinking running the threet/sheridan combo in the current system? net-net - this improvement is significant if we accept mediocrity. when is the last time the program was ranked in the 30-58 range as we are now? |
| 2 years 25 weeks ago | Nebraska |
My gripe as always will be the children of the corn. Not sure what your love affair is with this team, but they've consistently shown no fight and gusto. I would put them somewhere between 20-25 after losing to a bad Texas team, mediocre A&M team, barely beating a D2 school and a couple other games they should have won big. It took a crotch grab to put some fire into that team. With their beloved t-magic on one foot, i don't see them beating Colorado. Either way, i don't see how you can put them Oklahoma, Arkansas or VTech |
| 2 years 26 weeks ago | Met Expectations... almost |
I feel the outcome of this game met expectations... less the first half. I think the defense did what they could in the first half playing for 20 minutes with no help from the offense. I was pumped up with the good first Q play and even forcing a punt. Not sure what changed with the offense in the second half, wish they had that little spark in the first. Is it just me or does it feel like Denards throwing mechanics have regressed back to where they were at the end of last year? He had a couple good touch passes, but timing and general ball placement seem to be suffering a bit. Defensively, i don't know anything schematic about football - i'll start by saying that, but the 3-3-5 just doesn't seem to get enough penetration - it's almost like saying we'll give you 5 yards on any run until you guys hit the second line. i don't know what scheme works better given our players, but hoping there's more adjustment next year rather than going with some hokey scheme that worked in big east WVU. Optimistic for next year, glad we get the extra bonus practices for bowl prep, i think this team needs it. Also hope the injuries to Gallon, Smith, and Stonum are not too severe, they didn't look too fun on TV. As always, Go BLUE - it's still Great to be a Michigan Wolverine! |
| 2 years 26 weeks ago | haha! |
too funny! |
| 2 years 28 weeks ago | Instant Classic |
Even though I have the game on DVR and have watched it again - i can't wait for the instant classic replay and getting to watch this game re-broadcast years to come. It's amazing what such a win can do to change all of our perspectives! I hope Denard is okay - i think he played a fantastic game even given those misfortunate picks |
| 2 years 28 weeks ago | Awesome! |
Can't wait to see him in a winged helmet! I wonder how any coaching change speculation/rumors affects D.Hart's commitment? |
| 2 years 28 weeks ago | One loss Nebraska |
One loss Nebraska to a someone really bad Texas team (and near loss to North Dakota State) over one loss Michigan State that lost to a pretty good Iowa team seems a bit off to me? |
| 2 years 29 weeks ago | Buyout... |
... Not exactly sure what the buyout is, but i seriously doubt that DB would let the program slide another year (if it comes to that) just over the sake of the buyout. I'm sure at some point the donors (just like at Nebraska the year Callahan got fired) will stop donating and national reputation/recruiting are far more costly than whatever the buyout is. |
| 2 years 29 weeks ago | Spur, Bandit, what? |
Hey guys, Apologize in advance, I know Brian has covered this before, i just can't seem to find it. I still don't understand what the differences are between the Spur vs Bandit role - anyone have a quick answer? Thanks |

looks like he is smiling... |
| 2 years 30 weeks ago | heh heh |
I was thinking the same thing! |
| 2 years 30 weeks ago | Excited! |
To see this D.Hart kid next year and RichRod's new version of White/Slayton! Go BLUE! |
| 2 years 30 weeks ago | You would think so... |
no matter what, he's a threat to run the ball everytime -- on that first interception it looked like he could have made an easy 10 yards by just running it? Does it feel like we've just gotten used to scoring on that big play that it's all we're looking for? Maybe he's getting annoyed that he hasn't ripped a big run off in a couple games? |
| 2 years 31 weeks ago | beside getting to a bowl... |
... the extra practice this youthful team really really needs for next years is so critical! Never understood why teams that don't get to go to a bowl aren't allowed to practice those same days that teams that do go get... somewhat of an unfair disadvantage to teams that need the help not getting an equal opportunity to improve. |
| 2 years 31 weeks ago | Showed Heart |
Hey guys, I think this team showed some really good heart to stay in it until the end. A lot of stupid errors that should not be happening to a team like this. Not sure if it's just poor coaching where the coaches don't know how to correct, or maybe they can't teach and inspire? I feel the D played better? Got a few critical stops, some 3 and outs which i liked to see. I didn't even realize that Martin came out... I did like seeing Coach Rod "coaching" Tate when he came in rather than yelling at him like he normally does. Here's hoping to quick recovery for Molk, Martin, Denard, and Mouton... Go Blue! |
| 2 years 31 weeks ago | Hopson? |
was he a WV guy or was he hired new when Rich came in? Just wondering if he has already cut? Who was the DCoordinator last time we truly had a dominant defense like the 97 Wolverines? It seems like our Secondary has been an issue pre Rich? |
