interested to see how much we regressed from the end of Carr - i do attribute a lot of the attrition to RR being not intelligent enough to use players he had to morph into his system -.. not saying mallet would have stayed, but wtf were you thinking running the threet/sheridan combo in the current system?

net-net - this improvement is significant if we accept mediocrity.  when is the last time the program was ranked in the 30-58 range as we are now?

I feel the outcome of this game met expectations... less the first half.  I think the defense did what they could in the first half playing for 20 minutes with no help from the offense.  I was pumped up with the good first Q play and even forcing a punt.

Not sure what changed with the offense in the second half, wish they had that little spark in the first.  Is it just me or does it feel like Denards throwing mechanics have regressed back to where they were at the end of last year?  He had a couple good touch passes, but timing and general ball placement seem to be suffering a bit.

Defensively, i don't know anything schematic about football - i'll start by saying that, but the 3-3-5 just doesn't seem to get enough penetration - it's almost like saying we'll give you 5 yards on any run until you guys hit the second line.  i don't know what scheme works better given our players, but hoping there's more adjustment next year rather than going with some hokey scheme that worked in big east WVU.

Optimistic for next year, glad we get the extra bonus practices for bowl prep, i think this team needs it.  Also hope the injuries to Gallon, Smith, and Stonum are not too severe, they didn't look too fun on TV.

Even though I have the game on DVR and have watched it again - i can't wait for the instant classic replay and getting to watch this game re-broadcast years to come.  It's amazing what such a win can do to change all of our perspectives!  I hope Denard is okay - i think he played a fantastic game even given those misfortunate picks

One loss Nebraska to a someone really bad Texas team (and near loss to North Dakota State) over one loss Michigan State that lost to a pretty good Iowa team seems a bit off to me?

no matter what, he's a threat to run the ball everytime -- on that first interception it looked like he could have made an easy 10 yards by just running it?  Does it feel like we've just gotten used to scoring on that big play that it's all we're looking for?  Maybe he's getting annoyed  that he hasn't ripped a big run off in a couple games?

Hey guys,  I think this team showed some really good heart to stay in it until the end.  A lot of stupid errors that should not be happening to a team like this.  Not sure if it's just poor coaching where the coaches don't know how to correct, or maybe they can't teach and inspire?

I feel the D played better?  Got a few critical stops, some 3 and outs which i liked to see.  I didn't even realize that Martin came out...

I did like seeing Coach Rod "coaching" Tate when he came in rather than yelling at him like he normally does.

Here's hoping to quick recovery for Molk, Martin,  Denard, and Mouton...

I think the D does just enough to keep us in this game - Denard has a big day being Denard.  Excited to see how the team has responded to last week, and def more optimistic after reading the UFR Offense against MSU.

Shocking - how does one think that is anything even close to a good idea to post!  could not stop laughing when i saw that on Mzone this morning!

I do however enjoy reading this - i had the worst seats in the house this past Saturday 85th row endzone and didn't really see the plays that well and made a DVR fail.

... considering how bad the secondary was last year - maybe this "fresh meat" brings new edge to a already weak secondary... or maybe not :)  Here's hoping for the best though - i'm so pumped for the season to start!!

I just feel really bad for the poor kid - i really do hope that Troy is able to make a comeback and this doesn't turn out to be a career ending type of injury.  He'll be missed on the field, but hopefully he can continue to be that cheerleader on the sidelines...

is it just me or does this Nebraska thing seem like the worst case Scenario?  Nebraska and Mizzou make no financial sense what-so-ever!  50% of Nebraska's games were on PPV last season indicating they didn't have enough viewership for even fox sports to pick them up -- how does this help bring money into our B10TV --

So i'm a consultant and have been flying every weekend for the past 10 years -- i've flown over 3M miles with American Airlines and find it terribly painful to fly any other airline - mostly because standard rules don't apply to me on American. I'm right with most of you guys, i would hate flying without these special perks.

I have never had a good experience with any discount carriers (Southwest, Spirit, Ryan Air, etc.). Baggage handling on southwest shocks me! They don't actually track luggage like most airlines - they just know what the destination is and put bags on any plane heading that way. the times i've checked a bag out southworst, 80% of the time the bag does not arrive with me - either on an earlier flight, a later flight - or just lost. It's great my bag flies free - but in my experience it never gets there.

Do you guys remember that photo from the beginning of the season where Obi hurdled that Western guy... what a bust - i was so pumped for an awesome season out of him...
