How about the tip of the Thumb? Caseville to Port Austin has some great parks and beach area. I grew up in a SMALL town in Huron County and loved going to the beaches when I was a kid.
I received degrees from both U of M and CMU, so I cheer for both of them (it makes it difficult on the rare occasions when they play each other.....but I want Michigan to win in those instances). GO BLUE! and FIRE UP CHIPS!
I'm a retired educator and have another retired educator friend, and we've discussed this since his hiring. We both feel that he is indeed somewhere on the spectrum. We as a fanbase are fortunate he has the passion for football (specifically Michigan football) that he has.
I was in the Temple Square earlier today in my Michigan gear and told by a number of locals that we just missed seeing the team. They had just walked through there no more than 10 minutes before.
I've never been to SLC. Is this a mass transit train system you're referring to? If there's a stop close to our hotel, it might be easier than attempting to drive and park near the staduim.
I'll be leaving for SLC from Metro Airport on Wednesday. My friend has our tickets for the game, and I don't know where we are in the stadium. I've never been to Utah and am looking forward to seeing some of the local sights too.
This will be my first ever trip to Utah as well. Looking forward to being there to catch some of the local sights as well as Harbaugh's first game as our coach. Here's hoping the entire trip is an enjoyable one! GO BLUE!!!
I acutally met this guy this past year when I was on the bridge over the river headed to the game in Columbus. He was with an entourage of Buckeye fans, and of course they noticed me decked out in my maize and blue gear. He approached me and extended his hand to welcome me to Columbus. I'm paraphrasing but he actually wished that we see a good game that day and didn't say anything disrespectful of Michigan. The other fans were respectful too. I can only wonder, though, how much of this civil behavior is as a result of them winning as much as they have of late.

I went to Bo's last game against USC in the Rose Bowl which is the only Rose Bowl I've attended. A number of USC fans I encountered in the days leading up to the game out there were total jerks when they saw me in my Michigan gear.
It happens to be my birthday today too (although I've got five years on him!). Here's hoping I get my birthday wish....Jim Harbaugh as our new football coach!
I'm SO tired of hearing people (mostly MSU fans) say they hate people who cheer for Michigan who didn't go to school there.....SOOOO....I didn't go to school at MSU (Michigan grad here); and therefore, I will not cheer for them.
I've never liked this matchup the few times it's happened in the past. Since I'm a graduate of both schools (CMU undergrad and U of M grad), I support both teams. I'll be hoping for a Michigan win but that CMU looks respectable against them. I don't like CMU's coach either since he's a Sparty.
It's been quite awhile since the band got new uniforms. Anyone have any idea of roughly how long they usually wear a certain design before selecting a new one?
I have gone to a few games there (only have seen one win in 1996) and have not been bothered other than some typical trash talking. The win in '96 was my first trip to Columbus and it was GREAT. I have never seen that many people walking away from a stadium like a bunch of zombies......all were quiet and NO one was talking. We were big underdogs that year as we were the year before (also a win by us), and I think their fans just couldn't believe that we could upset them two years in a row.....although they should've expected it since it was during the John Cooper years. I'm hoping to see another win this year when I'm there.
I think they looked great. I'm not saying they should replace the other road uniforms, but the change was kind of refreshing. I wouldn't mind seeing them in the future.
P.S. I think it was nice surprise to get even more emotion flowing into what was going to be an emotional game.
I'm glad you posted this because I've been feeling this way for awhile now and have mentioned it to many of my friends. Prior to the last two years, I NEVER followed recruiting or much about the football team in the off season; although I was and still am an avid supporter of the team and coaches. I've been doing it almost daily now since Coach Rod's first season. The situation the team has been in the last two years has made me a much better (more informed) fan than I ever was before. Thank you for providing the impetus to share it here too. GO BLUE!
Yeah.....I thought you might be feeling that way when you saw a Bearcat guy in here! Funny thing is....I did my student teaching at the elementary school in Harbor Beach. I volunteered to chaperone on the bus for students/fans going to Pirate away football games. Somehow the students found out where I went to high school and did they ever give me grief! BTW....it was really difficult to cheer for Harbor Beach at those game. Fortunately, Ubly was a home game for them that year! All kidding aside, we Thumb people are the best...especially those of us who cheer for the maize and blue...
Glad to see there is another person from the Thumb in here besides me, mrlmichael. I'm from Parisville and attended Ubly High School...Home of the Bearcats. I did attend the University of Michigan (MS '83). I commend any person who follows/supports U of M's athletic teams whether they attended the school or not. You should never have to defend having good taste!

Happy Birthday to Jim Harbaugh and me. I've got him by 5 years, though! I feel special to share this day with THE BEST COACH.

I really like the look. It takes me back to my high school days watching the team in these uniforms. GO BLUE!!!

It's hard to decide between Coke Zero and Diet Vernors. I've also observed that there are by far more Coke lovers responding to this than Pepsi.
When was the last time that happened?
I only want those teams to win if it benefits Michigan.
Mine's December 23 too, and I agree!!!
Happy Birthday to you as well. There's definitely something magical about this date wouldn't you agree?...!!
Well happy birthday to you too. We're in good company!

......and Penn State in 1993.
My Ubly Bearcats didn't make the playoffs.
I was at the luncheon, and yes this is what Hoke shared.
'81 CMU grad/'83 Michigan grad here......FIRE UP CHIPS and GO BLUE!!!!

Wouldn't it be something to have a White and Green in the backfield for Michigan playing against MSU?..!!

PLEASE don't let Adidas design them!

Michigan can't play Nebraska for the championship since they're in the same division.
What do you expect from such a delusional school and fanbase?
TUN stands for Team Up North....

"Hey....you there in the weeds.....I see you Mark Dantonio.....this year you're MINE!"
It was Bob Ufer's birthday too.......a happy MEEEEEEEEEEEEEchigan birthday birthday to him too.
I believe he would've been 92.

Haven't I read/heard somewhere that roaches will be one of the few things to survive a disaster that might hit the planet? 'nough said!
I went to CMU undergrad and Michigan to grad school, and I TOTALLY agree with you. Fire up Chips and GO BLUE!
