Got Harbaughed in Boston today

I'm visiting my in-laws in Boston and while wearing my M hat I got Harbaughed today. Twice!

Don't talk about it!

Baseball mojo is a wierd thing.  You don't talk to a pitcher who's throwing a no hitter, so maybe we shouldn't talk about this until tomorrow.

The golf course

is the best atmosphere by far.  You get to toss back a few while throwing a football on a beautiful course with the Big House standing proudly next to you.  What could be better?

No number 1

So I take it no number 1 jersey for Stonum or Roundtree?

exactly

Kids are going to hear they can be the next Ray Lewis, Ed Reed, or Bart Scott, and they're gonna...well, let's just say they'll be pretty excited.

that is awesome

I didn't even notice the shirt until you mentioned.  Amazingly, I already laughed out loud at this picture befores I saw the decepticons logo.  Epic.

so true

ESPN is to sports as MTV is to music.

The thought of that

the thought of that is so horrible I'm not sure my brain can even handle such a thought even when said jokingly.  I have to go think about something else.

I've had that there

when I used to live in A2 many moons ago.  Tasty, but nothing like big chunks of "lawb-stah" with an eggs benny.

eggs benedict with lobster

that's how we roll in New England.

Michigan's order of preference

This is my guess at Brandon's order of preference:  First--Gruden, Narrow Second--Miles, Distant third--Hoke.  I think that will be the order of pursuit.  If Gruden says "pass" and Miles says "I want more money and grass put down at the big house so I can eat my pre-game salad", it wil go to Hoke who we all know will jump at the chance.

so true

People freaked with Bo (Bo WHO?), thought Mo was good but got in a barfight, and thought Lloyd was going to be too soft.  I'd be afraid if everyone thought whoever the next coach is would be perfect.  Everyone forgets how hot a commodity RichRod was when we landed him (spurned Alabama before we got him).

I woke up this morning

finally ready to move on from JH, and now this.  Just when I thought I was out, he pulled me back in!

Sheridan

He really tried hard, but he sure looks like a chemistry prof in that picture.

Rage

What about Know Your Enemy or Bulls on Parade by Rage Against the Machine.  That'll get you amped!

When I was a young boy

When I was a boy and couldn't sleep or was scared by a storm, my dad would bring in the radio, and Ernie Harwell and the Tigers would keep me company until I would finally drift off. More than just a broadcaster.

Quinton McCoy

You've got Quinton McCoy listed twice.

Not Catholic, but...

I'm not Catholic either (protestant), but I usually give something up for Lent. Last year I gave up booze, and I'm doing the same thing this year. The first week sucks, then not so bad. But on Easter afternoon I poured myself a tall Jameson's on the rocks, and I plan on doing the same this April 4th as well (not that I'm counting already or anything).

um...wow

I love how matter-of-fact this guy is. I mean, come on! You're jerking an elephant by sticking your ARM in his rectum. Wow.

absolutely

His clutch catch at the six yd line turned the drive from a "let's get in field goal range" to a "let's win this right now" mentality. Glad for him.

Happy for Savoy

Happy for Savoy when Matthews caught that ball. Can you imagine the sleepless nights for him if we would've lost that game on his dropped TD pass?

Even the 2008 team

had a bend but don't break defense. The Red Wings were the wise veterans who had been there before and were able to place the puck where they wanted, as opposed to a young, hungry team that was diving into the corners after the puck. It was this kind of play that bit us in the butt last June, and it's exactly why Detroit is already playing as if they are in rebuilding mode.

Leopold's

Isn't that right where Leopold's used to be? Shame they left.

Nevermind. I just picked up the sarcasm.

Zingerman's Brewpub

I have knowledge firsthand that Zingerman's was pondering brewing its own beer, but in the last six months plans for that have either changed or dried up. That would be sweet though, if Zingerman's opened up a brewpub! Great food to go along with great beer - sounds pretty good to me.

late to the party

All day I have been following NSD, and ESPN has been lagging on nearly all of their coverage, none more so than their rankings. As of 7:45 tonight, they still had only seven Michigan recruits having submitted LOI's while this blog and many other sources had confirmed all but Dorsey signed by about noon. I live right next to ESPN, and an insider told me that ESPN's biggest weakness right now is having a good hold on college football recruiting. That was obvious today.

Tons of Devotion

I grew up in Kalamazoo, went to a small liberal arts college on the west side of the state, but did my graduate internship at Michigan. I am not an alum, but growing up 90 minutes from the big house, I can tell you, there is a HUGE fan base in Michigan comprised of non-students/non-alum. Spend some time in other parts of the state and you will see there are Michigan parties on game days, Michigan bars, and big block M flags flying everywhere.
