I agree it was a bust and a waste of time (could care less about the $30). Took my 10 year old daughter and her friend. Showed up right at noon, waited in line in the rain/wind/cold for close to 30 minutes (why only one entrance open?!), then on stairs to get onto court for 15-20 minutes, then in line to get picture/autograph for 15 minutes (we think but honestly not even sure what we were in line for) but players took off before we were halfway through the line. Then it pretty much ended at 130 because all the football players had to prep for the scrimmage.
They could definitely take some tips from the people who run comic cons. Would of gladly paid an extra 25-50 if I could of scheduled a time for the girls to take a photo/autograph with JJ, Corum or Edwards.
I’ve really been impressed. First episode does what The Walking Dead failed to do in over 100 episodes, create plausibility and establish an end game. Great acting all around as well.
1. With transfer portal rules, retaining your talent is just as much if not more important than getting the top recruits.
2. With paying kids being legal now the top kids are getting spread out a little more (Texas A&M, Miami) instead of all ending up at Baja or OSU.
I think there is a combination for success. Kids that will stay on campus for 4-5 years (Mikey S, Barrett, Mike Morris, Bell), some sprinkled in 5 star kids (Donovan, JJ, Will Johnson), patch a few holes with a few grad transfers (Okie and Olu) and a O Line that can fucking maul. I trust our coaches and what they are building. Just look at some of the true freshmen on this team that have been balling. We are in good hands.
Went to Braylon fest when I was in college. After the game I was with a group of 6 guys standing outside a casual dining restaurant waiting to get food all decked out in Michigan gear. An extremely intoxicated Sparty by himself mutely walked up to us, stared at us intently for about 30 seconds then proceeded to pick up one of those sandbags that are used to keep temporary street signs upright. The guy then choose the largest member of our group (6’6’ 270ish at the time) to throw this sandbag at. Our guy casually sidesteps, catches it and tosses it back at this guy, it hits him square in the chest and he falls over with the sandbag on top of him. It take this guy a good 30 seconds to roll the bag off himself, stand up and brush himself off then he just walks off without saying a word.
I have the T-Mobile home internet. Technically it’s supposed to be at a fixed location but we camp and have taking it all over the country in our camper and they are yet to say anything. Its only $50 a month, no contract and the router was provided.
Trouble with using cellular near The Big House on game day is you have towers that usually support 2.5k people trying to support 125k people so you run into capacity issues. I recall a few years ago (pre 5G) we used my phone to stream a game to a TV on the golf course and it worked just fine. We transitioned to my phone while walking to the stadium and it cut out when we were a few hundred feet from the stadium. 5G is supposed to help with capacity but I have my doubts that it would help with 100x capacity spikes (with any of the wireless carriers). May be worth testing though giving that their is no contract or upfront equipment to purchase.
