I dropped our season tickets thanks to Special K, corporate invasion, and odd puck drop times/scheduling in general. $700 for two seats plus whatever the consessions could milk out of me was too much. While puck drop times are better this year from the looks of it, I can still remember 1/2 full Yost with 6:30 pm Friday night start times. Thanks Big Ten Network!
Nothing confirmed but the email I recieved with the announcement stated that fans/ticket holders of the team would be offered a "special buying opportunity". I'm guessing no...
Will be interesting to see as the "special admission" price is $11 for both games.
I knew something was afoot when they said there would be a reduction in price.
Last year was brutal trying to make the earlier start time so that the BTN could show the games. I know first world problems and all, but our section would be 1/2 empty until the middle of the second period thanks to 6 pm puck drops.
I renewed my seats, but man...talk about getting hosed. Fair would have been rotating out the Joe game for the outdoor fest. One year isn't going to make or break the Joe.
Hope you all have a festive holiday season filled with the good things in life - family you can stand, friends you like, and your favorite beverage at the correct temperature!
I agree. LONG time lurker...still am for the most part. But you're spot on. The board and comments sections have been really rough to visit this FB season. I kicked in a few bucks to the donate button to help the up vote/down vote project.
Pictures were posted so my wife could see why all three dogs were cowering under the sofa as I was yelling at the TV screen to throw the GD ball to the flankers....
The only joy I got from the Michigan victory was from the sadness from Sparty fans at the MSU game. My group sat between a 70 year old man yelling at the top of his lungs about how fantastic Akron is and a group of frat boys crowing about how MSU could beat Akron.
The stadium PA enjoyed updating the score of the game...but never announced the final score.
Way to go Sparty...worried more about Ann Arbor than what was going on infront of you in the first and second quarters.
My wife and I have a condo in Ft. Lauderdale that we spend time at in the winter months...lots going on all the time and the nightlife is nice. In addition, with the port, you can hop on cruise ships for 1 to 3 day cruises in the Bahamas for super cheap (as they are just looking to fill up the boat...last minute deals are awesome...three day cruise with hotel for $65 a night/pp).
Furthermore, with all the cruise traffic, flights to FLL are pretty cheap if you can time buying the tickets right.
Take the water taxi around the intercoastal and bar hop is another nice Ft. Lauderdale treat!
Key West, IMO, is too pricey and over crowded.
If you ever do get to Gettysburg, I highly recommend the Farnsworth House Inn Tavern. Excellent brews on tap and usually on Friday and Saturday nights in the corners are tables of CW historians. Excellent place to hang out!
1.) Ohio State...enough said
2.) Boston Red Sox...we get it, you finally won.
3.) Notre Dame
4.) Anahaeim Ducks
5.) not a team, but I loathe Gary Bettman
1.) Michigan Hockey
2.) Michigan Football
3.) Cleveland Browns (from when they were somewhat good with Bernie Kosar...)
4.) Detroit Red Wings
5.) Italian National Soccer Team
Only at 11:30? I kept hearing it during the alumni game, and then every 5 minutes thereafter from not only crotchety old guys, but from thier grandkids as well...
Is always a nice place to park. I usually park at the Art/Architecture building and then take Bursley Bates Bus or Northwood bus to main campus, and then stroll to the stadium. Makes getting out on 23 pretty easy as well.
my brother-in-law, I know that refusing the breathalyzer just results in the police getting a court ordered blood draw, usually with 30 minutes of an arrest for refusal of the breathalyzer.
Not guilty plea forces DA to go through with court proceedures, which causes the DA's office to spend time on getting the case to trial, which makes the DA look into a plea deal.
My wife has been taking her archtectural board tests. Across from the test center is a Bennigans. After the last particularly brutal test, she came out and said that all she could think about was a cold one at Bennigans. I knew it must have been a bad test to think about Bennigans.

$695 this year.
15 games + 2 exhibition games this year vs. 16 + 2 exibitions
This was the only site I could find the old Big Ten scheudle. It listed Yost and TBA as start time.

hoping the icers beat State. Then marathon training this weekend with a 20 mile run scheduled for Sunday.
That was an awesome game!
The "white death" has been wreched this year for marathon training. Not looking forward to my spring marathon in Roanoke, VA...

Congrats on orbiting the Earth yet again. 364 more days till the next lap is done.
Hope that the good trends continue.
Lost my mother, father-in-law, and grandfather to cancers.
Sums up hot pockets!
Woo Friday the 13th!
No routines for the 13th of Friday other than pestering my niece who is super careful on "bad luck days" as she refers to them...

I'd be up for this.
I am reading Age of Fracture by Daniel T Rodgers, which looks at US ideology from post WWII to 9/11. Interesting read.
Unbroken by Laura Hillabrand was exellent too.
1.) America 1908 by Jim Rasenberger (A look at events in 1908 from the New York Times...quick read, good stuff in there).
2.) Shock Doctrine by Namoi Klien (Shock economics at work)
3.) Republic of Suffering by Drew Gilpin Faust (death/dying in the 1860's with empahisis on the Civil War).
I second the beer gut to truck shirt....
I'd buy one.

I hear they are moving Bass to defense.
