The importance of Beilein's

The importance of Beilein's taking our youngsters to Europe cannot be forgotten. Against two quality opponents, away from home ( vs SU in Atlantic City, @ Clemson), the team has performed admirably.

Having such a young squad get experience over in Europe was a great idea, and it seems to be paying off as we're playing above our years, and in environments where youngsters usually do not perform well.

Kudos to Beilein and the AD for allowing the kids such an opportunity.

I'm proud to say that I was

I'm proud to say that I was one of the few students that stayed in the student section during the UConn rushing of the court. I was embarrassed that we would rush the court, really.

Forgive me if I'm wrong, but

Forgive me if I'm wrong, but I think most of the crucification talk was coming at the beginning of the season after The Horror, and being blown out by Oregon, at home, when nobody knew Oregon was THAT good. The talks definitely died down.

Of course, our standards have fallen, but giving a head coach time to get his players in, and starting to see success once a coach is playing with his players, and being happy about it, isn't too much of a drop in expectations.

Back at Orientation in 2007,

Back at Orientation in 2007, I met a bunch of football players, and camp started shortly after our orientation, which was Aug 1-3. I remember hanging with D. Warren and making fun of Martell Webb as he hit up the soft-serve like it was his job knowing he wouldn't be able to do that once camp started up.

I love soccer. I love the

I love soccer. I love the USA. Let's go!

2-1 on Dempsey's goal. What great strength, and finishing ability!

Just because you have

Just because you have received 200 MGoPoints doesn't mean you can go all willy-nilly with your posts.

Brand new 4...YIKES, that's

Brand new 4...YIKES, that's weird.

This is why you have a flask when you go out.

So, I'm guessing you didn't

So, I'm guessing you didn't hear the gunshots around the end of June in that area, haha.
I was up looking out my window at about 430-5 am, shooting the breeze, when I hear two gunshots, and three or four men running off in every which direction. Don't know what happened, but that kind of made me glad I lived up on my side of the park.

Columbia's dorms are

Columbia's dorms are available. Lived there last summer. Right on campus, pretty nice place. The Tom's that's sign is famously on Seinfeld is down the street. 1 line stop right next to campus. Have a bathroom and kitchen in each room. Singles and doubles available in 5 person suite.

Went to elementary, middle,

Went to elementary, middle, and high school with him. Can't say he's too intelligent, but he made National Honor Society. Of course, he cheated off of me in Spanish, my girlfriend in English, and I'm sure plenty of others elsewhere.

I'm still pumped to see a kid I went to HS with get drafted, though.

I'm hoping the Bills don't

I'm hoping the Bills don't risk it and move up to grab him before the rest...but it's looking unlikely.

Bills'll need a QB, don't

Damn thing is telling me to

Damn thing is telling me to shave -- Gillette ad up top. Sure sounds like a wife to me.

Don't forget their rebounds,

Don't forget their rebounds, assists and steals -- without those numbers we're not even be competent at any level. This is no good!!!1!!11!

Is it just me or does this

Is it just me or does this team seem to put up some ridiculous run totals in an inning of most of their wins? We'll be down, and then boom, 5 run inning. Is this normal for college baseball?

Parking is free in the lots

Parking is free in the lots around the Big House and Crisler...if you get there early enough, you can tailgate there. Plenty of other people are around so I'm sure it's good fun.

Wish I could see the results

Wish I could see the results right after I voted...any way that's possible?

Even if he was recruiting,

Even if he was recruiting, isn't the important part regarding being a booster to the program? If Tom's not a booster, then he can talk up the school as much as he wants, right?

I like Vince VickNabb better,

I like Vince VickNabb better, then you get something substantiative from McNabb's name, and it still sounds like McNabb. Just throwing that one out there. 'Mc' just doesn't give him much standing in the name.

Yep, friend is a baseball

Yep, friend is a baseball student manager -- said they feel like they've got a window they want to squeeze it into. We'll see how this goes. It's raining a little in AA as of 2:05 PM

NO Way

Yeah, absolutely no way this game gets played. We've had thunderstorms rolling through since about 5 AM that were as hard as I've ever seen em.

This one's going to go down as a PPD - Rain Out.

Thanks for the informative post, nonetheless. Always appreciated.

Ok

Hmmm...okay.

Twitter

"Another Good Day Of Practice Down One Step Closer To The Ultimate Goal!!!" is what DG tweeted yesterday at about 8 PM.

I hope that means this isn't anything to worry about if he called yesterday a "good day of practice"...I would assume sustaining an injury wouldn't lead to this kind of tweet.

Thanks

My roommates sophomore year and I wore our flags as capes and painted our chests with B-L-U-E for the MSU game two years back. It was about 40, but well worth it...until the loss. Then it was utterly painful.

I don't know

whether or not to neg you...I guess that means you did a fantastic job of being right on that line...meaning...alright, fine, posbang!

Old Spice Classic

I forget the name of the tournament we played in earlier this year, but that does not bode well for this tournament.

Beilein is known to be a great game-planner, but tournaments do not allow for sure game-planning. While Sims and Manny can both be studs, they need to follow a system to bring their talents out, and if the system and plan cannot be put fully into place by game-time, I don't think they can carry the team.

That said, we always will have our chances, and this team has the talent if we can shoot the damn ball.

Let's go blue!

Agreed

Agree on the Mac Snack wrap. I've tried it three times now, because their marketing is so ridiculous, it actually makes me want to keep trying it.

My take :

Hamburgers are best hot. With the cooler lettuce, in addition to a not heated flour tortilla, and a small portion of warm burger, the temperature is just not right. The mixing of the burger and the cooler flour tortilla is what leads to the failure.

If anyone wants to try it though, it's not AWFUL. As I said, I've had it three times now.

Love to have em

I'd love to have them, if I could pick them up late Saturday or Sunday...

Where are you located? I'll be in Ann Arbor.

Scratch that : Have to pick up a friend coming back from spring break :\

My Apologies

I apologize, I meant San Diego. Well, I didn't mean San Diego, but I confused my Comartie's.

But, in any matter, I think my point is a valid one disregarding the team I mentioned originally.

Be Wary

Arizona is putting him on sale like he's a rotten apple. I'd be wary of why they're giving him up so easily...there has to be some issues that may be behind this. Unless, of course, it just has to do with cash.

I think the main reason

I think the main reason behind the Yuengling is because it is the oldest beer brewed in America. Frankly, I've got no problem with it either, and don't get enough of it in AA.

high expectations

I had the same hopes, but to perform so well in his first year is pretty spectacular. Let's hope that Denard will tear it up on both the track, and the field in years to come. I see great improvement in his future.

Lack of interest

The lack of interest in this post is quite surprising, especially after our recent goalie struggles. Sometimes, I wish he was back here...but what can you do. Hope he grows as a goalie, and a hockey player. Go Blue!

Relationship w/ Beilein

I usually sit right behind UM's bench during the games, and I don't know how much it's really worth, but it seemed like before the game against PSU this Saturday, Manny and JB had a nice moment. A big smile from Manny to JB, and then a little hand grab/hug type thing. It kind of warmed me up to the idea that Manny might actually stay...but I don't know, maybe it's wishful thinking over a small moment that meant nothing at all.

Losing streaks are the worst.

Losing streaks are the worst. And they keep building upon themselves as you just pick anything and everything to get out of them, so you're picking games you don't know ANYTHING about. My buddy right now is on an 8 game losing streak, looking at 9 right now, with Notah Begay coming outta nowhere and sitting T1st at Pebble Beach.

I love the ridiculous games

I love the ridiculous games they post on there that basically nobody would care about. They also have fun ones, like whether Puxatowny Phil would see his shadow, and who would last longer in the spelling bee, etc. It's a fun game.

I whipped out a 20 streak last year, and lost on a WNBA pick, of all things. Quite sad. They gave me a free shirt for it though, pretty cool.

Me and my buddies decided we'd try for most win's in a month, now. It's a nice little change of pace after losing so many streaks in that 7-10 range, and feeling nothing but anger towards teams that I would usually not give a crap about.

Again, I agree.

I agree 100%. He's got the arm strength, and accuracy wasn't horrendous. I think when it comes to decision making, it'll be more time looking at film, and in practice. He was a true freshman...these things will come with time. Of course, he's not afforded MUCH time, but to write him off after a year, it just rubs me the wrong way.

I completely agree that he

I completely agree that he was an awful passer. But you aren't going to take into account that he came in cold, in the middle of games, with a small percentage of the playbook at his disposal, with less practice than most true freshmen that start (as he wasn't the first-team guy)?
