Good read. I find it utterly ironic that Dantonio said that line about "where's the threat" because as I recall, it was him that said "pride comes before the fall" after Hart immortalized the little brother terminology in 2007.....

I think I've fixed the spreadsheet, judging by what people had entered into each field. All the column headings should be correct now.

I'll venture a bold guess and say Marian the Librarian, because we'll badly need our secondary to perform well if the revamped DL can't get pressure by themselves.

While I agree the joke is harmless and not really that bad, I just wouldn't want to be a recruit that saw that type of talk on here. Not saying we we get a lot of them, but it's possible. I agree that criticism of the staff is sometimes warranted (I do it too), but not when it comes to the abilities of a player. I think in this particular scenario they've earned our trust. But how does JUB put it? UM fans are more like opera critics than football fans? ;)

Let's just agree on our love of all things Michigan and leave chemistry out of this. :)

why would a team do that? Is scheduling that much of an issue that there are only FCS teams to choose from? Seems like even playing EMU would be better than playing someone twice...

Hell, we'd probaly have a billion recruits if we also put coeds in our recruits' hotels before they get there (like some schools), but that's not how Michigan works. I've heard people say "UM just needs to start playing the game the way it's played today" or "We should be like Alabama, I don't care how we win national championships as long as we win them". But as our immortalized godfather of football said in his book: "It all boils down to basic honesty. Without that, you won't accomplish a single thing worthwhile." So let's beat the hell out of them this fall to show them hard work beats talent every time.

After all the talk, I still wanna try this stuff.

It's just Sparty whining. They had 7 home games. Last time I checked, the difference between 7 and 8 is ONE. Ya, big advantage there. Maybe if they had the winningest team in the country they'd get to play at home more, too. And if they want to talk about home advantage, they beat us and Wisky at home. Some people aren't even worth arguing with, which includes ALL Sparty fans.

He does look big, but it's nothing Wellman and a few days in the gym can't fix. But ya, he can't let himself go just to get bigger. Game shape is what it's all about.

Can't believe how proud these Michigan Men make me of our great university. I can't wait to see what type of impact they make in their futures on and off the field. Great victory for these seniors and THE TEAM!

Also going to Crisler for the first time tonight. Is parking the same situation as going to the Big House? Or are there actual options near the stadium that won't cost me an arm and a leg?

It's a lot of fun to go back and read about how the season was "supposed" to go. Amazing how well they've exceeded expectations.

Anyway, I like the song AND the band. Listen to Last Man Standing and Monster You Made. They're good songs. At least I think so. And if you don't then that's fine with me. I hate country music with a passion, but everybody has a right to like what they want. What I find hilarious is that everyone thinks this will be the start of armageddon for DB and M athletics. DB is doing a terrific job and he's not going anywhere any time soon. The stadium experience is changing, so either quit your bitching and get behind your university or just keep your grumpy old man-esque comments and attitude at home. I'm sure the Big House will still sell out without you.

I'm the same way. I love popping in the DVD of a game while I'm doing homework. It gives me a little distraction every once in a while. However, the rights to them are a nightmare. I wish they would produce every game on DVD with the home footage with Brandstatter/Beckmann commenting. I've watched the '05 PSU game a million times.....

I really don't understand what the big deal is with Pop Evil. If you took the time to notice, the stadium cheered when the song was played, so people obviously like it. That's what the stadium experience should be about: pleasing the crowd, not pleasing the debbie downers that don't like rock and the prototypical stuck-up Michigan alumni that think rock isn't classy enough for them.

And the MMB played The Victors when the team came from the tunnel. The piped in music was still playing but only about 3 seconds into the band's playing. I'm sure it was a timing thing. There were a few of them. As a former member of my hs band, I love the MMB, but a little other music here and there is perfectly acceptable and apparently desired by the crowd. I'm sure the MMB would have played a lot more if Western's band wasn't playing after every freaking play.....

Molk strikes me as the perfect type of player for Hoke. He's tough, quiet, hardworking, and intimidating. If he learns to point, watch out.....

I didn't even think about all the crappy coverage we're gonna see leading up to it. That game was my first soul-dong punch as a UM undergrad: fresh out of high school and at my first game in the Big House as a college student. Could have gone much better.

However, I defend DB for this. We shouldn't ever not play someone bc we might lose. The truth is, they'll prob be an FBS team in a few years. They're not exactly Delaware St. AMIRIGHT?

I agree that Denard can be captain next year. The honor should really go to seniors. I also like the idea of one per side, but I don't think it's always applicable. I think you just go with the seniors that show great leadership. Molk, Martin, and TWoolf would get my vote.

Did anyone check out his bio? Scout rated him the nation's #4 kicker and ESPN rated him #44?? Holy inconsistency batman!!

Smith is listed at 172.....that's tweener for a RB. I'm interested to see how well Hopkins performs in camp. Looks like he gained a little weight, but he could definitely be the next Rageback, akin to Minor.

It is ridiculously expensive to buy season tickets in advance. I know that as students we get a discount, but the deadline was in the middle of March. I wish I could afford it but I don't really have the extra $250 to buy a season ticket that early. I have the money now that it's summer and I'm working more, but like I said the deadline was in March. It makes much more sense for me to buy individual tickets to the games I really want to attend. As long as the school gets the money I don't see how it could hurt.
