I agree with you regarding…

I agree with you regarding DC. But when your head coach is a seasoned OC and play caller I feel you can take more of a gamble with the OC position.

His versatility with…

His versatility with position groups. With every assignment he’s succeeded. His recruiting success has been better than both Campbell and Hart as well, he also has experience coordinating an entire phase of the game as our ST coordinator. I don’t really see any reason why anyone would say he’s less qualified than Hart or Campbell.

I’m focused on his success…

I’m focused on his success as both a coordinator of the best special teams unit in the country (statistically) the past three years, success with every position group he’s been put in charge of, and the fact that he’s consistently been our best recruiter over the past nine years.

People are openly in favor of Hart and Campbell being promoted to OC having never done the job before, why not Jay?

Anyone calling him “Jim’s…

Anyone calling him “Jim’s kid” hasn’t paid any attention to what he’s done while here. We have/had Donovan Edwards, Colston Loveland and Blake Corum because of Jay.

Jay has coached TE’s, RB’s,…

Jay has coached TE’s, RB’s, and Safeties. I think he has more versatility than Hart does on his resume and has been a much better recruiter.

Why is it that it seems pertinent info comes out about fifteen minutes after each of these posts?

Yeah, reading between the…

Yeah, reading between the lines it seems like the NCAA/B1G have evidence that someone else was involved in the operation with Stalions.

Sidenote, Coach Clink’s twitter account was taken down today.

Temporary Order of Restraint…

Temporary Order of Restraint. I think it can be either. Like DUI or DWI.

Yeah, this is worded very…

Yeah, this is worded very poorly and makes it seem like the act of in person scouting is a violation of anti trust laws. Have to assume they mean the prohibition of it.

We also need something more…

We also need something more than “other teams were doing something that isn’t against the rules.”

This sucks. I was expecting…

This sucks. I was expecting some actual damning evidence. As we’ve been saying all along “stealing signs isn’t illegal.” We all know everyone steals signs, we need some evidence of those signs being deciphered illegally before we can say “gotcha.”

I hear you. All I can say is…

I hear you. All I can say is that I’ve seen a lot more out of these six years than I did during the 10 years prior. I think we have to be level headed about our assessment, not emotional about it. We were going to lose some games this season. We all knew that or at least should have known that. Let’s wait and see what happens. Harbaugh is a good coach. Maybe not as good as we all hoped he’d be. But he’s not Brady Hoke.

I’m not saying losing this…

I’m not saying losing this game isn’t a problem. I’m saying I think when all is said and done Michigan and MSU will prove to have been about as talented this season as one another. MSU is better than their week one showed and we are worse than ours showed.

And I vehemently disagree with you about player development during JH’s time here, especially by comparison to the prior 10 years. See Devin Bush, Runyon, Chase Winovich, Karan Higdon, Cam McGrone, Hassan Haskins, Ronnie Bell, Ambry Thomas, David Long, Khaleke Hudson, etc. Harbaugh has developed players. Much moreso than Hoke who seemed to actively make players worse from year to year.

And yes player retention is on the coaches. And if you’ll recall they did retain Ambry and Nico. They opted to return then opted out when the season was canceled. Getting them back was going to be a lot tougher once they had signed with agents like Rosenhaus.

Ranking the college stadium's I've been to

Outside of the Big House of course...

1. Tiger Stadium - LSU

2. Beaver Stadium - PSU

3. Notre Dame Stadium - ND

4. Darrell K. Royall Stadium - Texas

5. Rose Bowl - UCLA

6. Camp Randall - Wisconsin

7. Ohio Stadium - OSU

8. LA Colisseum - USC

9. Rentschler Field - UConn

10. Ryan Field - Northwestern

11. High Point Solutions Stadium - Rutgers

I initially presented this idea midseason

And people said he hadn't "earned it" quite yet. I don't think winning this B1G title necessarily moves the needle super significantly in that respect, but I feel like his consistent outperforming of expectations (and talent), as well as the man he is off the court and amongst the community is far and away enough to have earned the honor. He's a great coach and a better human being. But also a really great coach.

Tickets were delivered

In person, in the lobby of the big office building we both happen to work in. HTTV.

meet you down in the lobby by the piano?

cool?

yep

meet in front of the building right now?

still available

if you want em.

STILL AVAILABLE

Just comment that you're coming to 50th and Broadway and tell me when to meet you on the corner and I'll come down with the tix. I'm wearing a Michigan hat so easy to spot.

If neither of the guys above confirm

In the next five minutes, you can come meet me at 50th and Broadway. Just comment when you're leaving so I can gauge when to go down.

If the guy above you doesn't respond in the next five minutes

they're yours.

Meet on the corner in five minutes?

I work at 50th and Broadway too. Meet on the north west corner in five minutes?

The reason I bring this up now

Is because people are trading for draft positions pre-NFL draft. Trading the 2nd overall pick for 3rd and 5th and so on... I'm looking for names of guys whose talent alone (minus situation) you would target in a two round rookie draft.

Also, it's a slow day at work.

Hated: GG Allin and the Murder Junkies

It's a documentary Todd Phillips (The Hangover, Old School, Etc) made about GG Allin. It's very disturbing.

Schembechler Hall

Bro.

My opinion

John Beilein has done enough for the University and program at this point in his career to warrant this. If you're going to say he doesn't deserve it because he never won a national championship there are two words I'll say to refute that claim: Bo Schembechler.

I personally think an honor like this would be all the more meaningful to Coach Beilein while he's still on the sideline. It shows that you can acknowledge greatness while it's happening, without the benefit of hindsight.

Passing Down Defensive Coordinator Title

This one is a legit rivalry, but

At every USC game the band plays the Fleetwood Mac song "Tusk" and during the chorus the fans all cheer "U-C-L-A sucks" no matter who they're playing. It's actually one of the cooler marching band songs and fan cheers I've seen.

The Targaryen is Dany

Jon will receive a note from Sam about Dragonstone having a shitload of dragonglass on it (remember Jon was talking about how they need to mine for dragonglass in this weeks episode) and talk to his lords up north about going to treat with the dragon queen to allow them to mine the dragonglass to make weapons... This is all setting up a Jon/Dany meeting this season.

In the books

there is rumor of Nymeria becoming this badass She-Wolf Pack Leader that roams the Riverlands like a boss. I don't think she'll have puppies with her, but she could have a band of wolf followers by her side.

Exactly right

The NFL owners made their pick entirely based on feelings in the moment. As someone said below, Kroenke offered the more "grandiose" stadium plan which put a bit of a spell on everyone in the room. They saw the shiny thing and got distracted and totally forgot to think about the true moneymaker: a successful and sustainable market in Los Angeles.

The Raiders are a national brand unlike any team in the NFL other than the Packers, Steelers and Cowboys. The Raiders moving wouldn't have fractured a fan base because the majority of Raider fans don't live in the East Bay. They have a truly regional fanbase dispersed all throughout the state of California. The false notion the owners were operating under was that Los Angeles was desperate for a "home team" which wasn't and isn't the case. The city's makeup is already one of transplants from all over the country who bring with them the allegiances of their hometowns. Los Angeles isn't Charlotte or Houston and my guess is it took a year staring at an empty stadium for the owners to realize that.

If the NFL had any foresight

They would have moved the Raiders to LA last year. The Raiders have such a fervent and dedicated fan base that travels from all over the west coast to wherever they're playing. If they wanted to prove the concept of football in LA they would have taken a team with a following and put them in the largest market to guarantee ticket sales and excitement in a highly competitive market.

The Raiders will be successful in Vegas because the Raiders would be successful anywhere they moved on the West Coast. They could move to Palm Springs and you'd still have Southwest flights on Sundays filled with people in Silver and Black.

Football in LA will only be successful for one week every season: when the Raiders travel to play the Chargers.

Outstanding questions

Who are Rey's parents?... Feels like the implication or story we're meant to be leaning towards is that she's Luke's daughter who he left on a desert planet for her safety when he became the most hunted man in the galaxy. But if that's so, then who is her mother?

Who is Snoak?... In theory he's probably a character we've either seen or heard of in the past. Possibly the Sith Lord Palpatine tells Anakin about in Episode III. Is there anyone else he could be? He had pretty distinctive facial scars that would imply he was in a battle of some kind and suffered significant wounds at the hands of the Jedi or Rebels.

Where is Lando?

What are your thoughts guys?

To be fair

Arizona did lose their best defensive player at the beginning of the season, and were then riddled with injuries on the defensive side of the ball throughout the season.

Our defense didn't do too well after we lost one of our best defensive players (Glasgow). It's hard to perform well when injuries cripple you. I do think Casteel is a pretty solid DC. Not a silver bullett, but also not shit.

Yes

Yes he does.

Does anyone have a solid explanation for why Tulane has sucked?

Given the amount of talent in Louisiana and the south in general, the appeal of living in New Orleans, etc. you'd think they could easily become a Northwestern-esque program. Top notch academic institution which would appeal to the Stanford/Northwestern/Vandy types of recruits who highly value the strength of their degrees.

And beyond that, you'd think that a top notch coach would be at least intrigued by the idea of living in an awesome city that also happens to be pretty talent-rich for recruiting.

Something doesn't compute. Why do they suck so much?

Greg Jackson

He coached linebackers in 2009-2010... I could easily see him move to LB coach with Zordich and Pruitt working with the DB's. It would also make Jackson a more appealing DC hire in the future given he'd have extensive experience coaching multiple positions.

You know nothing (Jon Snow)

All of us are far less qualified to be deciding who would be a "good fit" than Jim Harbaugh, which is why we should all simply want whatever Harbaugh wants.

If he offered Anderson the position last year as is reported, then I want him. There's a reason he was one of JH's first calls upon getting the Michigan job. I don't know what those reasons are, but whatever they are, I like.
