Thought you all were talking about that creepy dude from the woods in the first season of True Detective.

I've seen some of those types (i.e., not sure why they went to law school) become pretty good lawyers. Practicising law is a lot more fun, dynamic, and people-oriented than law school.
That being said, the combination of law school becoming more expensive and the job market shrinking has made for a scenario where it's not a good idea to stick around to find out if you may be one of those people. The job market has seen permanent, structural changes from the days Latham and Watkins had 200 summer associates.

Well, I think the issue is that everything was better in the middle 1990s if you are a man of a certain age. Back then, for example, I could ball.

Interesting. Oberon used to go by Solsun until sued by Mexican producer Sol. Maybe Bell is paying it forward?

Replace "lottery" for "playoff," and pretty much, yeah.
They are, taken on the whole, a lot better than other college teams. Duke's backcourt is about as good, perhaps better, but UK is deeper and bigger. I would take Boston, Miami, or Indiana over UK's team (it's a non-starter to compare UK to the West fringe playoff teams). Those are teams full of former college prospects (Sullinger, David West, Deng, Olynyk) and established pros (Stuckey, Hibbert, Wade, Bosh, Isiah Thomas). The difference is that the NBA guys have had years to develop their games. Even if you go down to Charlotte, I am going with the NBA team. Kidd-Gilchrist was the No. 2 guy in the '12 draft, and he is not a star yet; he has a few years on the Harrisons, and I predict he would own the Harrisons and Booker.

Yes I think it had some racial bias suits about ten years ago as well. I am tempted to make an off color joke using the term cracker, but this is a public forum...

It's a strained analogy Rosenberg makes to Hernandez, for sure, but Rosenberg is absolutely correct about the long-term health risks of playing NFL football. The recent settlement with brain-damaged former players means the League can pretty much continue to crank out tens of millions of dollars in profit for billionaire owners, with only the puniest of compensation to the men who ravaged themselves so that others may be enriched and entertained.

Money is on Duke. KU reminds me of the '91 Runnin Rebs. I think Tyus Jones has more upside than the Harrisons. Devils in an upset. (Yes, I still dislike Duke, the program, but respect this crew they have as they are ballers.)

Sure, yeah, we had exactly the type of year we can let a guy like him go, and just think, it sure is good to be a real prestigious school and shit, and just let guys who can ball a little bit go because we can replace them with the likes of any moron with a pulse, who can put on a Michigan uniform. Makes sense. Go Blue. Real fucking sensible. And shit.

Fucking asshole was wrong about the Fab Five too. I find it amazing that, in America, you can be good at something, thirty years ago, and then have some type of goddamned fucking authority to tell kids how to play a game that any idiot can figure out, well after you were actually relevant.

Smotty is tearing it up. Money from 3 and he takes a big charge. Michigan could have used that the last two years...
Telling that he started on Michigan's B1G championshp team, and comes off the bench for the Terps. This is a deep squad.

You may be right that 0-10% of rape cases involve false accusations, but I am not sure what conclusions can be drawn from that.
Your statistic for sending innocent people to jail is probably far too low. Studies estimate that 4% of people on death row are innocent. http://www.theguardian.com/world/2014/apr/28/death-penalty-study-4-percent-defendants-innocent. To me, this data implies that false accusations (by the government or the victim) are pretty common, maybe no more or less so than rape. I think having serious criminal charges filed is a horrible stigma for other crimes as well.
I think that the difference is that rape cases draw extreme emotional responses from the general public. With rape there is often (1) a counter-active knee jerk reaction to protect the accused, and denigrate the victim, and (2) an equally reactionary response from people who think we live in a "rape culture." This doesn't happen as often with murder, or other crimes.

They have had some fine seasons, and hard fought wins over Michigan. The 1985 loss to Iowa may have been the bitterest of the Bo era. And under Ferentz they have won exactly as many BCS bowls as Michigan in the last 15 years, plus Ferentz is 6-6 in bowls overall, which is great given the B1G record over that same period. I understand his program has been mediocre the last four or five years, but let's get some perspective here.
