No, there was the 2003 Outback Bowl win, the 2004 B1G title, the win over Penn State in 2005, the 2006 season, and the 2008 Citrus win. 2005 had an all-too-familiar ring, but I put the decline more in the 2007-2008 period. In 2006 Michigan was one fifteen yard penalty, a scoring drive, and a stop away from playing for the title, and was as talented as any team in the country.

A little digging suggests that Copper Bowl logo is trademarked, by the (presumably dissolved) Copper Bowl Foundation, and the link below gives contact information for a defunct law firm.
I would 10X much rather have a Copper Bowl shirt than a BWW Bowl shirt. Any takers on contacting the guy and asking for permission to license the logo for a small batch of shirts?

I imagine the Copper Bowl logo was at one time trademarked. I wonder if someone (BWW?) owns the Copper Bowl trademarks?
Then of course you have the issue of licensing the University logos.
But if you made a maize and blue shirt that said "CU at the Copper Bowl" you might be fine.** I would buy one.

As much as you have to tip your hat to Sparty for winning the B1G, they are, and have always been, a bunch of car-flipping, couchburning cretins.

Good grief, that looks like some unholy cross of a teddy bear, a varmit, and the Big Bad Wolf. Still, gotta give it the edge in a hypothetical matchup with that Wildcat.

Don't get me wrong there are some seriously funny scenes in both movies, the second in particular.

Oh, it's on now my clodhopping Wildcat friend!

Saw both of their feature films, vaguely hoping it would be something like Strangebrew, eh. The second one where they get out of prison and try to pull off the Big Dirty, which winds up being some harebrained scheme to steal quarters, is the best one.

These things never work out in a pat way. It is more likely that if Brown is out, Texas ends up with Will (don't call me Zook) Muscamp, and Texas fans are absolutely apopletic.

This rumor just won't quit. Are Auburn fans behind this?

Gallon had a great year, statistically one of the best ever for a Michigan receiver, but I would have to go with Gardner for the MVP. Heart and soul of the team.

Oh man, what happened to the Half-Ass? Probably ate there 50 times my Freshman year.

That's a good point--the assumption is that Clemson/OU send more folks to Miami/New Orleans. Would be interested to see whether historic BCS ticket sales bear that out. (Just on the basis of sheer proximity, I would tend to accept the premise.)
|1 day 18 hours ago||The Pac-12 slate is not that||
The Pac-12 slate is not that bad. Really the only bowl the Big 10 has that is clearly more high profile is the Citrus. Holiday usually sees a better matchup than the Outback (this year even the Alamo is as good as the Outback), and this year the Pac-12 slate includes UCLA and Va. Tech in the Liberty.
Another question is whether Oregon deserved the second BCS spot. They were ranked ahead of OU and Clemson. To me, Oregon had the slight edge over Clemson. Although neither team had a signature win, the Pac-12 was overall a tougher league. (Maybe having players whine about the Rose Bowl hurt Oregon with the bowl selectors?)

I am choosing to look at the bright side of this. A late Saturday tilt is prime time on the West Coast, and prime bar time on the East Coast. Michigan has never won this bowl before, and has never played Kansas State. I am putting aside all my anti-BWW sentiments, and hoping for one helluva Copper Bowl.

2007 Leras Family pinot from Papapietro Perry. Smoking good. Smoking fucking good. Also watching 5 Year Engagement. I live in SF. I went to Michigan. I have been engaged for 4+ years. Somebody STOLE MY LIFE. Well, sort of. Kind of funny movie.

Yeah that is right. I am not sure why they get so pissed about it. I mean, we're saying that we are bros.

That sign is pretty fucking funny. Good for Sparty. I tried rooting for Ohio, and it did not feel right. Sparty played a Hell of a game and they are going to the Rose Bowl. I have friends and family who are Sparty. They are probably so happy right now.
|3 days 23 hours ago||Right, that's exactly it.||
Right, that's exactly it. Most Sparties I know, in addition to being complete idiots, will have ridiculous views about sports generally (e.g., "Lions are going to the Superbowl," every fucking single year).

Ohio, for sure. More obnoxious, but I can respect that. Sparty fans are more annoying, however, as they have a delusional view of how Sparty figures into the sporting world. They are the least informed, most undereducated bunch of pissants in all of sports. I hope Ohio absolutely tunes them today.

Yep. Silver Lake has some great music spots (like Spaceland) that are hipstered to the max. Dudes from that scene (e.g., Beck and Eiliot Smith) are/were pretty much hipsters, before that was even a meme. Santa Monica and West Hollywood have become more hipster/foodie since I left.

I will be having flashbacks to last weekend in Ann Arbor. Zingerman's. Roadhouse. Bells Two-Hearted. Sweetwater's. 8-Ball. Rabbit sausage polenta at the Earle.
Roadhouse buttermilk fried chicken, for the table. At brunch.
I can't get Ann Arbor out of my mind. My heart.
On a separate note, 8-Ball no longer really smells as much like puke in the stairwell as it used to. And the '98 Rose Bowl poster is nowhere to be found.

A very good situation for Peterson to walk into. Sark has recruited very well, and UW is in better shape now than at any time in the last 10 years. I think he would have left earlier, had his predecessor at Boise, Hawkins, not flamed out at Colorado.

If not wanting to live in LA makes someone a hipster...
Well, I'll put it this way. I lived in LA for several years, and (1) there are hipsters galore in LA, and (2) you could do sooo much worse than hanging out with the hipsters.
|4 days 23 hours ago||Aside from his penchant for||
Aside from his penchant for making off-color comments (which would actually be funny if were not the president of a major university), he was a successful president by many metrics. He was loved at Ohio and Vanderbilt, and is known as being an excellent fund-raiser.
The curious thing is that he was criticized at Vanderbilt for not supporting sports, especially football--he reorganized the athletic department--and at Ohio he was criticized for being overly deferential to sports. He did whatever it was he believed was in the best interests of his constitutents, nothing more.
He is a Wall Street/CEO type president, with an outsized persona and a penchant for getting attention, and funding. That is not going to work with many institutions (he was not liked at Brown), but this may work for West Virginia.
