This was the peak in my opinion. Otherwise this game could have gone the other way. Elevated Michigan to where it had not been in 49 years, for the most important program, in its most bitter rivalry, at the flagship university in the state.

I don’t follow Michigan State admin politics at all, but why would Gov. Whitmer get involved ? Ethical violations should be policed by the body that sets those standards. Gov. Whither is a Sparty and has no desire to make negative headlines. Maybe I am missing something? Bad politics.

I keep coming back to the fact that successful baseball, basketball, and football coaches all walked. There was some hair around the Harbaugh situation, maybe. He would have left for the NFL two years ago if he could. But who made the call to cut his salary in half? Warde. Who admitted to lagging behind on a new contract? Warde. Who has failed to lead initiatives on NIL, transfers? A lot of people, including the Regents. But I blame Warde.
I don’t care what the record is, that is a mentally tough second half performance. Tschetter in particular. Shot by T Will late in the shot clock to make it 46-48 was also huge.

On (2) it is complicated. He could do something sustainable and even self-sustaining with U of M help and corporate sponsorship. It is a pretty big ask for Ross to cut a big check for the NIL quagmire but small donors, like me, do it. He should use his influence as a way to improve the process/platform.
Brightside: it is a good time to take your kid and several of their friends to see their first Michigan game. You can get several seats for what a stadium beer costs (to be clear: I am not recommending any of you degenerates drink while taking your friends' kids to a game).
I prefer Cullen but only weakly. DC is the one spot on this staff where Moore needs to take his time and hire an impact guy. Martindale knows the Ravens system. He has also been a DC at three NFL franchises.

None of these dudes proved to be crucial to anything. The Harbaugh assistant who stayed, David Shaw, he won a game or two. Actually he won two Rose Bowls and *checks notes* more games than any other Stanford coach.
UPDATE: When Pete Caroll left USC, he took *six coaches* with him, including the defensive coordinator, special teams coordinator, OL coach, and QB coach for USC.
I rewatched that 2021 Ohio game probably a dozen times in December 2021. I try to limit myself on rewatches in the offseason as part of an overall cleanse. That is more difficult this year as the season went late and there was a coaching change. It is hard not to feel nostalgic that this era is over. Nostalgia is a big part of being a Michigan football fan.

I would add 2009 Red Wings Stanley Game 7. 2015 Michigan State football. 2018 Ohio State football game. 1994 Colorado football game. 1988-89 Notre Dame football. The fuckin ‘13 NCAA MBB title game.
