Is he in the running for 1st team all-B1G (or would he be if not for exigent circumstances)
- Is his team so bad we have to point out someone to pay attention to so here's a guy who's not terrible.

Yes, sorta. It's 5pm on Fridays before football games, but we may move it to the Bo Store more often since that was a better setup. At Moe's we have to move displays around and everyone who comes has to stand. At the Bo Store there's space for some chairs and we don't have to move anything to set up.
Also they have a MUUUCH nicer back office where I can run the back end and write up the post.

Our baseline for giving a guy a star is:
Gedeon's PFF grade is leading Big Ten middle linebackers. Let me say that again: in the deepest year for linebackers since I've been able to qualify that kind of thing, Ben Gedeon has the highest PFF grade among Big Ten linebackers. Raekwon McMillan is in this conference. Anthony Walker is in this conference. Wisconsin is in this conference. A Bullough is still in this conference. Jose Jewell is in this conference. Maryland has a guy named Jermaine Carter who's been great when he can go, and I hear they're in our conference. Indiana's Tegray Scales has been part of Indiana's defensive surgance this year. Only Penn State's Cabinda and Nyeem Wartman-White have dropped out of the running from injury. And Ben Gedeon is LEADING these guys.
And Delano Hill is also leading safeties after Malik Hooker (if you don't count Peppers as one) in the conference, and when we picked our midseason All-B1G teams he was virtually a consensus selection over Igwebuike and Travis. As I noted at the time, Hill has been playing vritually the same position as Peppers and has been holding up--he just doesn't have the fancy TFL stuff, but then, he's not Peppers. Hill's taken another step forward, and last year he was already PFF's 2nd team All Big Ten selection.
We're looking at a historically good defense. That's why all the stars.

I've long thought this is one of the dumbest things that NFL coaches do, and they do it all the time. They're so confident they can turn a bundle of talent into a superstar that they constantly overlook good players with a hard ceiling. I think a good number of those coaches were once exactly that kind of player, and therefore undervalue how much thinking--the quick assessment-to-action kind--is a talent too. Or perhaps it's because you have to really have faith in your own coaching abilities to get to the top of that profession, to the point that a lot of them are somewhere on the narcissist spectrum, therefore they're more likely to believe themselves capable of "coaching him up", i.e. thinking for him.
It's such a common weakness that the great teams consistently exploit it in player evaluations. Of all the major sports, football is the thinking man's game, but for whatever reason football evaluators on the NFL level underrate thinking men.

Is it though? While we were "not mentioning" all the holes on Brian's offense nobody thought to bring up a crucial bit about Michigan's next opponent: that Taylor Barton has been benched for a true freshman.

Put it in Madden terms: He's got all the athleticism you need to play safety in the NFL, but his AWR points are in the 60s still. That's an improvement from last year when they were in the high 40s, and much better than Cox who's got the lowest AWR in CFB. NFL teams draft guys on their physical attributes all the time, figuring you can teach the guy with athleticism to play but you can't give an unathletic guy a new body. They're often wrong, but that's what they're scoring on: SPD, ACC, AGI, HPWR.

Western and Central are totally legit FCS schools. WMU is ranked in the top 10 right now. Central has a mini-rivalry with MSU.
EMU would probably have dropped down if there were any FCS schools around, but since everyone they play is in the MAC they might as well hang around until they're kicked out. If they do get the boot, they'll drop the program.

I'll have a post tomorrow. Prices are remaining kinda high. If you don't mind splitting up maybe wait till next Friday. If everyone's buying their own ticket and you'd like to get the group together target $120 apiece.

It's OT, but I cleaned it up and reinstated, because I think the readership gains something, however small, by being able to say "You know the U.S. ship that was just attacked twice off Yemen yesterday? The daughter of a guy in my internet community is on that ship! If this wasn't StephenRKass it'd just go the way of OT but he's established enough in this community that something happening to his family that is also of national consequence passes the sniff test. Like if Lloyd Brady was on a train that got derailed in New Jersey, that's of meta interest to us, right?
That said, this is the second time that OP invited controversy when there is none:
Why add this? Just from a literary standpoint, you just said your daughter was on the ship that got fired on twice. Most anyone here who's reading that is already going to be sympathetic to her plight and that of her crewmates, and those who are not probably have a strong political reason for that. So it feels like this was inserted more than anything else as a dare to anyone who's not sympathetic to say something anti-troops.
This is called Apophasis. What's a apophasis? It's a rhetorical trick to say whatever you want in the context of literally saying "I'm not saying this, but..." To say "I won't ask anyone to pray, or even think about the sailors on the ship" you are really saying "You should pray for the sailers on the ship but the PC nazis here won't let me say so." The way you don't say a thing is to not say it; saying you aren't going to say it is saying it.
I removed those two lines and reinstated the thread. Also cleaned up some of the people who took the bait. No bans because I considered them baited.

1. Has been in the doghouse before.
2. Still needs to gain some weight to be an effective Anchor since that guy has to suck up doubles and keep Peppers clean or we can't get away with a smallish SAM like that.
3. Chris Wormley is back at Anchor pretty much full-time since Hurst and Godin are both fantastic at Tackle and Mone can play there some as well, meaning there's now an All-American at the top of the depth chart who wasn't technically there at the start of the season.
4. Every day Rashan Gary gets better.
5. Early season was opportunity for lots of guys to get snaps and show what they can do. Big Ten season is when you play your bes as many snaps as they're still the best.
6. Taco is back and can also play Anchor when Winovich is on the field.
Marshall will be valuable next year as possibly Gary's backup. Right now there's not a lot of need for him since Michigan can go three-deep at his position with all-conference or better quality players.

You're in luck I did a write up on that recently. You do it to force the defense to check for it and to overload a side.

I put that in there because his teammate ratted him out:
Musso is also shorter in photos than his position coach, former Wisconsin safety Jim Leonhard, who is 5'8.
However that article is all about how Musso is an excellent football player. So was Leonhard. So was Bob Sanders. And that Florida State safety from when they last won a national championship whose name escapes me right now. We were close to putting a star on Musso for this chart. He may be a little guy, but "lol they have a 5'6 safety" does not come close to an accurate description of his contributions.
