Hi Seth right after the home loss to Ohio State, this is you of the future. This team will win the Big Ten Tournament and lose their Sweet 16 game by 1 point when Walton misses at the buzzer.
P.S. don't take nova.

This would have been funny if they hadn't made the tournament. Getting knocked out in the 2nd round by a 1-seed is respectable enough that this joke feels lame.

I've been trying to gather data for a Ticket Watch this week but it's hard to gauge this one because as you said the KU fans are setting the market and speculators are all over it.
The tradeout doesn't work in a way that would benefit ticket sharing: a ticket is for one entry and both games. I advise buying a really shitty ticket then sitting in one of the empty seats of a KU/Purdue fan.
The Indy game tickets were sitting at about $130 and moving at under that but there were still a hundred on our partner's site in big groups so speculators didn't sell out. That means there were tickets for cheaper to be had on the ground, but the market didn't translate to online.
Asking parents for their tickets won't work this time--I heard from a parent of a player that their seats are only good for their segment then the other parents will get their seats. This is also true for media, by the way, so if someone wants to give Ace and Dressler (the photog covering this game) their tickets for the other session I'm sure they'd appreciate it.

Going by the first half...
Also it depends on what kind of team you have. Lville played it right: matchup man to man, play the arc hard, and make Moe beat your endless bigs inside while crashing the boards and hoping to put M's bigs on the bench.

Maybe they're right? I looked up the box score for Trey in the 2012 tourney and it doesn't show he was credited for a block. Maybe these photos were staged or something.

That's factored in! Those seats would be $85 or $60 now without the L'ville/Ky bump. The speculators and the Kentucky fans bought up what they wanted, and then there were still upper bowl seats. You can see lower bowl prices are really high--that's the uber fans' market. I figure those who are looking for cheap seats are playing the get-in market, especially since moving up to better seats is always available in these games as fans don't sit in for both sessions.

It's a risk but those tickets are basically the ticket version of Uber: they'll put you in touch with someone who's selling and you have to work it out with them. If you are going to be late however that isn't nice to the people whose tickets you're buying.

It's factored. Those speculative prices expect to get Louisville and Kentucky.

For some weird reason the whole thing didn't upload. I noticed this morning that the file on my computer is 77.8 mb and the file on the server is 76.5. Uploading it again now.

When you copy it you will find the raw data sheet. Then go on Kenpom and grab all of the % to wins from all these tourney games except not those playing quasi home games. Match that to the differential in efficiency and then you can work backwards to find approximately Kenpom's win% calculation formula from efficiency differential, which you have already. Share with your friends.

Also: Notre Dame went 4-8.

I like the idea of Nova through Buffalo. They'll want to keep Cuse out to avoid a home game but M fans will make it there aplenty. And if we advance it's MSG.

Bo admitted to cheating once. Contrary to NCAA rules Bo would allow non-scholarship players to eat the same food as the scholarship players. Cheater!
I don't think anyone claims Michigan players never got an impermissable benefit. Plenty of people embedded in the community have stories and I've heard a few myself. What Michigan does have is a credulous compliance department that is super serious about investigating and preventing it.
You'll note the cover we promoted last year's HTTV with had a stormtrooper on it. That was because compliance said we can't use a current student athlete. When I tried to say WTF I learned the way our athletic department works is compliance says and we do, not the other way around.
The way NCAA compliance works is not like the NCAA are the cops. The cops are at each university, and overseen by each university. The NCAA is more like Internal Affairs. You'll note the big violations they hand out are "Lack of Institutional Control" and "Failure to Monitor" or "Failure to Promote a Culture of Compliance." The fact is most schools these days purposely fail to monitor, promote a culture of non-compliance, and if they lack institional control it's because the guy the coach talks to for making things happen has stopped listening to the coach. In the South paying players is a totally functional black market, complete with networks, burner phones, and money laundering (mostly done through churches because who's going to investigate a church?)
Michigan and others like it are exceptional because they literally do promote a culture of compliance. Talk to any former Michigan player and they'll have a story about how compliance was up their ass over something like a friend fixing their car or a girlfriend who got a good deal on a laptop.
These are still highly valuable athletes getting highly underpaid relative to their free market value, and markets always find a way to correct. The difference however is not just in degrees but the kind of enforcement going on here is above the written expectations, while the norm is the Old West.

Podcast articles get picked up by the stream. If you find it in iTunes you'll actually read the original draft that was uploaded, plus the first few comments. Anything that goes into a feed has to check out by the feed's own logic, so the fewer add-ons and whatnot you have running the better.
