That is all.

ESPN Player

I've been using ESPN Player (https://www.espnplayer.com/espnplayer/console) for a few years now (even before it was known as ESPN Player), and outside of some technical issues last year when they redid the whole format, I have been pleased with the service.

The College GamePass is 150US$ a year, but now you get  Football and Basketball (and some other college sports) in the same package.  Most games that are on ESPN, ESPN2, ESPN3 will be available, and even some other feeds have in the past (some SEC noon games of the week).  You also have daily packages for select weekends.

I have a PC with a good graphics card, which I plug into my 46" Samsung top-of-the-line LCD TV and the picture quality is usually pretty nice to very very good (for a web service).  On my 24" monitor, the quality is very very good to great with a similar PC/graphics card setup.

damn right..

So close to Champs too.  We used to go to Schwartz often in between drinking and watching football, and then heading out to the titty bars.

Champs may be the only real option...

... though I have not gone there in years, since moving out of the city.  It's on St-Laurent street, just north of downtown.  Sports bar up here suck, as far as college football goes.

Champs is owned by Europeans who aren't really fans of College Football, so it was frustrating at times when I used to go because we had to negotiate with them to get a specific game on one of their 35 tvs.   Hell, a division 3 soccer game from El Salvador would get the nod over a top 25 college game, depending on who`s running the TVs...  so it might still be that bad.  Or you might get lucky, there aren't many customers at noon and you get the game on the big screen with sound..

Call ahead of time and ask them if they'll show the game.  If there's more than one of you, the better.  They will make an effort to get you your game since you're bringing them business...

If I knew you better or if you were a chick... I'd give you my home address.

Took a couple of minutes to reasearch this further....

Looks like our friend in Italy is out of luck:

"The ESPN College Pass content on ESPN Player including College Football and College Basketball is available in Europe (excluding Italy), Canada, the Middle East, Africa, South America,  (excluding Brazil, Chile and Mexico), Asia and Australasia (excluding Australia)."

College Pass

I`m in Canada (Montreal), and I bought College Pass on ESPN360 last year (it covered both College Football and College basketball).  The games on ABC and on the different ESPN networks were available, including bowl games.  Usually, if the schedule on their website listed a game with a ESPN360 (or I guess now ESPN3.com?) icon, then it was going to be available on College Pass.

Haven`t checked yet this year, but if I remember correctly they had different subscriptions based on location, including a European subscription.  The picture and audio quality was pretty damn good on my 22inch monitor, though there were times when some of the more popular games experienced bit rate issues and the quality was somewhat impacted.  But it was much, much more stable than in previous years.

I played against Biakabutuka

I played against Biakabutuka in High school. Thanfully I played oline then.

I played with and against NHLer Francis Bouillon up until he got drafter by the Quebec junior league and I gave up my hockey future to play drums in a death metal band.

Ah the ol' days.

.

I`m a 1 in my heart, a 4 in my dreams, but a 5 in the sad reality that is my life.

ESPN's online streaming,

ESPN's online streaming, dating back to the old ESPN GamePlan Online package has always been available in Canada, to the best of my knowledge, since I have pretty much been getting it every year since I had my (illegal) DirectTV  dish removed (around 2003-2004).

As for the Big Ten Network, I was unable to get the online package last season.  I don't think it was available in Canada, most likely due to some providers now carrying the network.  Then again, I was able purchase the Spring Game feed a few weeks ago, so maybe it'll be available up here for this season.

Yup

For 140US$, I took the ESPN College Pass, which had football and basketball games, including bowls and conference tournament games.  The image quality was actually quite nice, for the majority of the games, even at full screen on my 24' ACL.

Damn right

I always turn all of my lights off before leaving home, but I will be leaving them all on tomorrow night when I head into town.

As we're sharing travelling plans

(copied and pasted from another thread)

My friend and I are driving 11 hours from Montreal to be at this game, and then driving 11 hours back. We'll be at both the basketball (1st half) and hockey games friday night.

Most likely, we'll be tailgating at the golf course Saturday morning. Look for a dark blue Benz GLK truck with a Quebec licence plate, with Rush blasting through the speakers. That'll be us. We should have beer and other beverages.

I'll be there for the first half, before heading to the hockey game. Not like it's going to matter or anything.

Drinking Macallan Estate Reserve Single Malt

Geez, I almost wish that today's game was the main reason why I'm drinking alone right now. Then I wouldn't feel so bad. But it's not even on my list of reasons.

Oh, and I can't let this one go without:

I drink alone, yeah, with nobody else.
I drink alone, yeah, with nobody else.
Yeah, you know when I drink alone, I prefer to be by myself.

If it were possible, I'd +10
