I wouldn't disagree with this sentiment. I'm not convinced Lalonde is head coach material.
One of the knocks I heard was that Lalonde is constantly mixing his lines. The top teams in the east do little to none of that because it undermines chemistry development.
The thing I heard mention many times, by guys who played QB at both levels, is that it's much harder to be a passer in a run heavy offense because you aren't often afforded the chance to get in a rhythm, making what JJ did even more impressive.
I really want to believe this but the Flyers have been in a downward spiral for a while now. They have been better as of late so hopefully that trend continues tonight.
The Wings have to play with more energy tonight then they did the first two periods last night. We need some better goalie play as well.
While I agree that leaving your doors open is a good policy I find it hard to believe that this coaching staff would tell a player to go get good somewhere else and maybe we'll bring you back.
While it's likely OSW doesn't have insider info, the fact that NHG is back on campus would seem to suggest the coaching staff probably didn't advise him to leave.
A little concerned that 3 of our last 5 games for the Wings are on the road, with 2 of them being against the Pens and the Leafs. The other is the Habs.
The Pens have 3 of their last 4 at home (Wings, B's, Preds and Isles).
The Isles have 3 of their last 5 at home (Rangers, Habs, Rangers, Devils, Pens)
The Caps won't matter since they're gonna lose tonight and be out of it.
At 4-2 tiebreakers are more likely to come into play and could make things messy where they might need help. The Wings own the tie breaker with the Islanders but have split so far with the Pens, Caps and Sabers.
Precisely, go 5-1 in the next 6 games and you're most likely in. They just can't drop any of those next 3 games. The Islanders and the Caps have pretty tough remaining schedules with 5 of the last 6 games being against teams either in the playoffs or in the hunt.

Yeah the OP comparison to 2020 football is off. We're not living in a pandemic world where any symptoms give rise to quarantines and contact tracing quarantines. This year for Michigan Basketball is much worse than 2020 Football as there are no external circumstances to blame.

Weird caroms off the dasher, timely penalty box exits for break aways, bad puck hops negating a prime scoring chances or weak penalty calls. That slashing call against Raymond in the second that lead to the go ahead goal for Chicago was weak AF.
I bit the bullet and signed up for Bally Sports because I had a feeling the Wings were gonna contend for a playoff spot this year. Plus I have ESPN+ as part of the Verizon Disney package. So no matter what I get to see the games.
However going forward it looks like the games will be streamed on Prime as part of Amazon's bailout of DSG starting in 2025. Since I'm already a Prime subscriber it looks like I won't have to pay extra in 2025.
With all the crappy luck they had with draft position it looks like this may be the way they have to go since missing out on the top prospects for the last several years. It's clearly a model that can work and even Seattle has had some success with it.

Yeah, but you knew they were going to be a little flat in the first coming off a 4 game west coast road trip. It was nice to see them pick it up in the second and with the chances they were creating something was bound to go in eventually and thankfully it did!
Though Macdonald had a role in developing the system that Martindale deployed with the Ravens in 2018, the Ravens will be transitioning philosophically and schematically.
No defensive scheme is perfect and counters will eventually be found but we're not there yet.
