The momentum he's had the past month is amazing - late offers from Michigan, Miami (YTM), Vandy, TN, NW, Penn St., and South Carolina. I wonder if he just snatched Pie Young's spot and now Young has to wait on Corley and Crawford?
I was hoping he might be able to address the inclusion of the Mike Burger anecdote. Reading that, though it did offer an evocative story of Hoke's commitment to his team, made me very uncomfortable. I'm pretty sure most serious Michigan fans quickly guessed the player most likely to be Burger's real identity and that struck me as really unfair to the kid, especially since it might easily be wrong. Did Bacon consider making the story more vague to better prevent readers from jumping to conclusions?
I'm guessing he's betting it's Terrell Lucas, who should drop any day now. But Sam Webb is the most connected member of the media to the team by a factor of about 10.
And that he mentioned Drevno and that Wiltfong just made a post highlighting his UM crystal ball and the timeline of top players about to announce, it's definitely Bredeson. Big get.
He makes some great points. Obviously, to be successful one should hire a mediocre candidate rather than the best available. That way, if they fail, one won't feel so bad afterwards.

He was going to be co-DC with Durkin or something similar. Having the position to himself might sway his mind.
but I would guess Lance Anderson gets the first call and if he decides to stay at Stanford then Shafer would get the second.
