Maybe you& Mgoat are both right? EJ is out working Sam these days& bringing a lot of solid content, but maybe he's a jack wagon. Sam lost a lot of credibility in my eyes with all the Milton hype.
Seldon Sr. wasn't happy that Jr. hasn't gotten a chance based on his twitter comments after the game. He insinuated bias against his height. Good luck bringing Rowser back into the fold.
No doubt! This site peaked many moons ago. I long for the days of peak Lloyd Brady, The Knowledge,TOB posts, Schofields dad?, Steve Lorenz(Aquaman), no politics& actual content. It was the greatest escape& super fun check in to this site. The day the no politics rule went out the window was the beginning of the end. Now its a never ending supply of haterade political BS like every other site. I blame Brians apathy& burnout mostly. This board is worse than the old Mlive comments section we used to mock.
Great analysis and banter in this video. I appreciate it when someone posts sweet content like this. Very cool! Lewan knows his craft& gives great insight into the battle on the interior. I love his shirt!
He has a vast knowledge of Michigan football,& college football in general. He's quick witted& funny. I think he would make a good radio play by play guy for Michigan football too.
So funny...I had the same dream. A buddy with the kuahara& one with a sweet Mongoose. I ended up with a Schwinn Predator. Slightly better than the k Mart special though I guess.
This is the best Michigan hype video I've ever seen. The music you picked works perfect with it. must have been a ton of work. Impressive. Thank you brother. Go Blue!
In a weird way severing ties removes the power, control,& ability to manipulate away from the addict. It's a way to get off the crazy train/merry go round you've been riding with them. It helps the addict feel the consequences& can serve as a shock to their system...maybe enough for them to want to stop using. My family figured this out the hard way. My little bro overdosed at the age of 33 a few years ago. Best advice I can give is that you shouldn't try to help/save/protect an addict. The best help you can give them is to let them deal with the consequences of their addictions.
You really can't make an addict do anything. They have to decide to get help for themselves. The best thing those that care about him can do for him at this point is sever ties until he decides to get help.
West side version in order by school district: 1.EGR 2.Holland Christian 3.Forest hills central 4.Forest hills northern 5.Gr Christian 6.Gr catholic central 7.rockford 8.spring Lake 9.Grandville 10. South Christian hon mention: caledonia, N Muskegon, Hudsonville, Forest Hills Eastern, Unity Christian, Calvin Christian.
I posted this before in a recruiting thread...Nauta's uncle is Joel Smeenge(Isaacs mom's bro). Joel went to high school in Hudsonville in the 80's& then played for Jack Harbaugh at western Michigan. Joel then played 11 years in the nfl as a DE for the Jags& Saints. That is the family connection Michigan is tapping into while recruiting Isaac.
Regarding Nauta...his uncle is Joel Smeenge who played for Jack Harbaugh at Western Michigan& also played about 12 years in the NFL, mostly with Jacksonville. Michigan is using that connection& the fact that the family has strong ties to the state in trying to pry him out of the south. Fwiw. I'll go back to lurking now.
A playmaker. He plays with bad intentions. Has swagger. Plays bigger than he is. Fundamentally sound. I love this young man already. Can't wait to see him in a winged helmet.
It's all about the emo all the time right now. Personally, I've lost more faith in our fan base than I have in al Borges that is saying something.
Stepping back from the ledge...the b-ball team is going to be fine. I'm excited to see what Beilein can do with this young, talented team. I think they will make steady progress this year, be competitive& fun to watch along the way.
Has lost his marbles& so has half our fan base. We are having a bad year. The offense is broke& needs to be fixed. It's a combination of youth/coaching/play calling. It will get fixed one way or another& our o line will get more experienced.
The defense is good now& is only going to get better next year. We have great recruits coming in& we are getting yo the point where we have depth& competition at every position.
It's time to cut the emo crap. This site is getting unbearable& our panicked fan base is only serving to destabilize our program& recruiting. Get a grip people. It's a bad year; It happens. Better times are ahead!
GO BLUE!
I think Levert is going to surprise people by playing a lot at the point. He could have a little bit of Morris in him. If he adds enough strength, he could present a lot of match up problems for other teams.
It seems like everyone Is focused on the concussion problem related to football. I believe prescription drug abuse due to Vicodin/oxy...is the underlying cause of trouble for a lot of the former players. Mix in a little Xanax& even adderall.
Drug addiction leads to depression, paranoia,etc...But we only hear that it was due to concussions. I think the problem is correlated to the prevalence of prescriptions for pain, ADHD,& anxiety.
I lost my 33 year old brother 9 months ago to an od. His problem started years earlier when he got his 1st Vicodin script after a car accident. Drugs slowly robbed him of his life.
I would love to see a detailed study done on prescription drug abuse of former players.
Rip Cullen, my heart goes out to your family. They are in my prayers.
He said he's a great kid, catches everything thrown his way, a beast on defense, an athletic freak, comes from a great family, is a Michigan lock if they offer,& "will probably play someday on Sunday." So yeah...he doesn't have a lot going for him.
he told me is that Moundrous (sp?) is crazy& plays dirty. He also said DG ran for about a 70 yard td run against the 1st team D last week without being touched.
It was a brief phone conversation& I'm more lke a friend of a friend of this dude. I do hear things from time to time from him, but I don't grill him. He has started games in the past& will be a starter this year.
I was thinking/hoping DG would redshirt this year, but maybe he is too talented to keep off the field.
A great week of practice last week. I think him& shoelace will job share for sure& then we'll see how it shakes out. It only makes sense that DG would red shirt.
If Lewan is ready at left tackle I believe Huyge will slide to right tackle& start.
I have been an MGO lurker for a long time& only started an account because I established this relationship within the team& every once in a while I have something relevant to share. I check the blog daily for info, but don't normally post or respond because I find it irritating when people make reply comments that don't add to a thread just to gain a few MGO points.
I thought it was relevant& a better topic than many of the recent "very very OT" topics we have seen posted on the board: real estate, web sites, miss usa, etc,etc...
Just embrace it. If your anything like me you grew up listening to Ufer/Beckman call the game on Saturday while you threw the ball around in the yard with your brothers. You grew up a fan& always will be. For one reason or another it didn't work out for you to attend UofM. Welcome to the club fellow "walmart wolverine".
Not to mention that you have been known to throw rocks at cars. That automatically qualifies you.
When Bo talked about being a "Michigan man" while sending Frieder packing prior to the national title run it was sweet. The constant reference to the term now is overkill& lame imo.
Minor should be on the dis list at #3 for always being hurt. #2 Grady, #1 Henson. honorable mention- white lightning& Carlos Brown.
Best: #3 Long, #2 Woodley, #1 3 way tie: Hart, Edwards& Coner....
While I believe that RR/Barwis naturally want the lineman to get stronger;& they will as they progress from freshman to seniors. I have it from a good source that RR apologized to the o lineman for for making them drop too much weight& he wants them to now bulk up. He initially wanted them to be intentional about losing fat/weight& now he has somewhat reversed course after watching them get pushed around.
I'm all in for RR, but I don't think that was the "progression of his Plan." I give him credit for recognizing something wasn't working& then going out & fixing it. He doesn't want the o line Jabba the hut like, but he realized they were too sleak/smallish& needs them bigger in order to get a good push off the line(see Illinois game: 1st& goal @1 yd line x no score= massive fail/end of season).
I don't post much& have meager points. I heard from a reliable source(relative of player) that RR apologized to the o line after the season for making them drop too much weight compared to the old regime. He told them he wanted them to put on more weight& that small, strong,& quick works in the Big least but not in the Big 10. He doesn't want them borderline obese, but that they needed more of their bulk back. More of a happy medium. I thought it was good info& worth mentioning.
This will be a great test for D.G. Lowell is good every year. They are disciplined, well coached kids. I think they lost to East GR earlier in the year& that's it.
1. Total incompetence of the linebackers to do anything constructive or learn from their repeated mistakes.
2. Inability to have D Rob do anything, but get the ball& run with it. he isn't capable of running the read option play after practicing for 1/2 the season?
3. Brandon Minor being constantly injured.
4. The waste of Brandon Grahams senior season. It must have been frustrating for him. He is an absolute stud/freak/beast/animal.
Wow, this comes off as extreme depression. Despite the above disappointments, I think we can turn this around in the next 2 years& I am still hopeful RR will come through.
That avatar of Swayze is definitely "good Swayze" If there is such a thing. It's from Red Dawn. Red neck Swayze character kills commies, yells WOLVERINE!!!, & spray paints wolverine logo on all the twisted metal that left after they blow stuff up.
Roadhouse is pretty brutal. The over acting& the mullets are too much to take. Definitely not "good Swayze".

4 West Michigan/GR kids...Harris, Riley, Ezi, Morgan. They all started while on the team.
Thanks for doing this! I would take my two teenage girls and wife to the game if I won.
