Yeah thank god Belein's teams have, ya know, beaten a few good teams in his time here... And oh hey they competed with some elite teams as well. Thank God we're not getting blown out by 20 every single game

we didn't hire him to have steve threet and nick sheridan running read options either... you can ease into a change, believe it or not.

It's funny because I'd be willing to bet (if you even follow basketball which is questionable) that you were one of the people last year saying "man wait until darius morris gets older he will be so good."
Also, you should inform Brian of your logic considering that he has been saying all basketball season that he doesn't expect much from the team because they have only 1 junior and 0 seniors starting.
|3 years 8 weeks ago||yep playing cornerback is||
yep playing cornerback is more complex than playing point guard you're right.
|3 years 8 weeks ago||And on second thought, are||
And on second thought, are you really trying to argue that playing corner back isn't as confusing as playing point guard? Point guard is an unbelievably complex position, more complex than corner back for sure. Not that this is even relevant because of my previous response, but for the love of God stop making up pure nonsense to defend your argument. I don't really care if you feel the need to argue this basketball/football claim; if you want to dispute something go ahead and dispute what I said about Brady Hoke being able to field a competitive team at SDSU in year 2
|3 years 8 weeks ago||What the hell does||
What the hell does physicality have to do with age when you're talking about the difference between 19 and 20? If anything the age argument can be used to say that the younger players don't have as much experience and therefore decision making ability.
And what do you say to the fact that Brady Hoke competed with both #2 or 3 TCU and Missouri in his 2nd year at San Diego freaking State? He had essentially 0 talent in his first year taking over the 2-10 SDSU team, and any talent he brought in was no older than a true sophomore, and most were true freshmen.... Yet he was able to be competitive with strong teams. Quit using this backdoor garbage, made up logic to defend Rich Rod when anyone with a brain (i.e. a majority of college football followers) can admit that he didn't get it done here.
|3 years 8 weeks ago||yeah that young michigan||
yeah that young michigan basketball team sure looked horrendous vs kansas on sunday.... oh wait, they competed?! Based on Rich Rod apologists I thought it was impossible for a team with sophomores and freshmen to compete with a ranked (let alone #3) team.

Auburn's spread is not the same as the one RR runs.
|3 years 9 weeks ago||Are you honestly going to say||
Are you honestly going to say Northwestern is bottom 2 int he conference?
Northwestern has been better than us 3 years in a row, including this year..
|3 years 9 weeks ago||I see where you're going with||
I see where you're going with this metaphor... If Rich Rod is the new husband and the upset fans are 'insufferable brats', does that make the 6 blowouts this year the equivalent of the new husband humiliating the stepchildren in public 6 times?
|3 years 9 weeks ago||If the only way you are able||
If the only way you are able to gauge the progress of a team is simply by the number of wins then you must not watch a lot of football...
|3 years 9 weeks ago||Dude...||
There comes a time in life when you need to just admit you are wrong.
If Beamer had never beaten a ranked team at Va Tech, wasn't in a BCS bowl, had been beaten this bad 6 times in the same season, and had a losing record at Va Tech, then you may have a semblance of a point with your sarcasm... But none of that is true and you are making a fool of yourself. Cut your losses just like Michigan will do with RR this week.

Brilliant. The user name I made 2 years ago is clearly a reflection of me and my football knowledge.
If I could change my user name I would change it to Welcome_Home_Harbaugh

Bury your head in the sand and ignore everything like a good little ignorant fan. Good day.
|3 years 9 weeks ago||Good one. I'll expect you||
I'll expect you to be calling into MSNBC and Fox News the week before the upcoming presidential election and going off on them for speculating and discussing a week before the decision is made.
Don't lose any sleep when Rodriguez gets fired next week.
|3 years 9 weeks ago||If you can watch this team||
If you can watch this team and truly believe they are 1 year away from a big ten championship game, you need to take the iv of blue kool-aid out of your arm... Ridiculous assertion
|3 years 9 weeks ago||What the hell else are you||
What the hell else are you going to "clutter the board" with? "OT- What kind of beer are you drinking tonight? LOL"
And how is there no point in speculating when the decision is in a week... Do you get upset when people speculate about the presidential election one week before the actual election? My God is that an awful argument. When the decision is near is when you're supposed to speculate the most.
Bottom line, you're a joke dude. Quit trying to regulate mgoblog as if it belongs to you or something

The offense is so "great"... Defense comes out and gets a big stop, big punt return, offense goes 3 and out. Give me a break.
|3 years 9 weeks ago||So what? It's a freaking||
So what? It's a freaking message board what do you think is going to be posted? If you don't want to talk about it then don't comment, but so long as people are debating it (which is fine) the talk will continue on the boards.
|3 years 9 weeks ago||That's a ridiculous request!||
That's a ridiculous request! Why would you think it's acceptable to discuss a potential coaching change for the Michigan Wolverines football team after their bowl game? Do you think thats what message boards are for?
There should be no posts on this Michigan Blog regarding the overwhelming possibility of a coaching change. We will ignore it.
|3 years 9 weeks ago||Their jobs are not on the||
Their jobs are not on the line; the decision has already been made. DB already has a coach lined up or he has decided to keep RR. You don't start a coaching search in January, so if he was going to be fired it wouldn't have anything to do with the Miss St. game.
|3 years 9 weeks ago||Like Brian said, you don't||
Like Brian said, you don't start a coaching search on January 2nd. If Rich Rod is going to be fired the decision has already been made.
If Rich Rod is going to stay it is because DB already decided on it based on what he has done thus far; it won't be because the team performs better than Miss St in the Gator Bowl.
|3 years 10 weeks ago||Dude step away from the||
Dude step away from the kool-aid... wow.
Your last statement is the most annoying argument of all. Just because Rich Rod turned Michigan into a rebuilding project because he is so in love with his "scheme", doesn't mean Harbaugh would do the same. Harbaugh is a good football coach, not a scheme coach. He would take the talent he has and make the most of it, and I'd be willing to bet that our turnover margin would improve drastically under Harbaugh after the past 3 years of turnover-mania. RR couldn't find a way to make Mallet, Minor, and others fit into his offense, but I guarantee you Harbaugh would/will fit Denard into his.
|3 years 10 weeks ago||8-5 is pretty damn good at||
8-5 is pretty damn good at Stanford given their stringent academic standards and lack of resources/fan interest. At Michigan, 8-5 in your third year is not nearly as impressive.
Also, Harbaugh only lost 1 game by double digits (10 pt loss) that year. 10 points was Rich Rod's closest loss. Harbaugh's 5 losses were by a combined 32 points, Rich Rod's are by a combined 87 points, and it would be worse if opponents chose to run up the score. Harbaugh also beat a very strong Oregon team that year and a 9-4 USC team. He also beat a very good USC team in his 1st year.
Harbaugh beat more quality teams in his 1st year than Rich Rod has in 3 years, had far less embarrassing losses each year, and had an equal record in his 3rd year, all while at a program where it is MUCH more difficult to build a good team. Can people like you please, for the love of God, stop pretending what Harbaugh did at Stanford is the equivalent of what Rich Rod has done at Michigan... It's ridiculous
|3 years 10 weeks ago||1) 8-5 in your third year||
1) 8-5 in your third year isn't exactly awe-inspiring. Not terrible, but not good either.
2) 3 losses to 11-1 teams: He had three 11-1 teams on his schedule, and got absolutely crushed by all of them, how is that supposed to be a selling point for him to stay? Not to mention MSU is the most fraudulent 11-1 team in a long long time. There are a large number of teams with lesser records, including 9-3 Alabama, who are much better than 11-1 MSU.
3) The "top 10 offense" has already been covered. Wisconsin, Ohio State, MSU, Penn St, and Iowa all shut down the offense until the game was essentially over. The offense hung a ton of points on awful teams, and got shut down by the above average ones. Was the offense good? Yes. Top 10 in the country? No.
4) How does Denard even factor into this? Sure he is a great player; is bringing in a great player to a program that is easy to recruit at supposed to be something spectacular? And overall on the recruiting front Rich Rod has actually been quite sub-par.
Rethink whether or not you had to throw that out there.
|3 years 10 weeks ago||well this was a good||
well this was a good benchmark game and we got absolutely embarrassed, so i don't know what you expect people's reaction to be...
and anyone who thought we were going to be an ncaa tournament team because of the 1st 12 games is an absolute moron.
|3 years 10 weeks ago||Is beating ND (19-17 record||
Is beating ND (19-17 record in the past 3 years) 2 out of 3 times supposed to come anywhere near making up for going 0-6 vs OSU and MSU? Especially considering we lost those 6 games by a total of 110 points...
I don't care about him beating notre dame when we have been losing to msu and osu every game by an average of 3 touchdowns for the past 3 years. Since you don't seem to get it... that (among other things) is why I want him fired.
|3 years 10 weeks ago||You didn't actually counter||
You didn't actually counter one thing he said in his argument. "mgobubble" was a great way of describing your (and many others on this blog's) disillusionment, hilarious.
If you think that there is so much talk about his job security because "he's not a michigan man rabble rabble", and not because he is 0-13 against B10 teams with a winning record, or got blown out by double digits in 5 games in his third year, then you should honestly stop following football.
The hell with whether he "gets our rivalries" or not, just stop getting blown out in them. All you did in your post was 1) make up your own reasons for why people want RR to be fired (reasons that aren't even the true issues that people are complaining about) and then 2) disprove your own made up reasoning and fail to address anything the fire-RR advocator said.
I assure you it is not because he isn't a michigan man, or how he feels about the rivalries, it is because he has turned the program into a national laughing stock for the past 3 years. You just don't realize it because the only football talk you are ever exposed to is the mgobubble.
EDIT: Dahblue mentioned wins and losses as an issue, then addressed recruiting also, and you tried to call him out for it. Do you realize that RR has been awful in both? Just because dahblue is addressing multiple issues that RR has, doesn't mean that he is contradicting himself. Your argument comprehension skills are incredibly awful... yikes.
|3 years 10 weeks ago||stupid arguments like saying||
stupid arguments like saying that because denard improved that the program/team improved....
|3 years 10 weeks ago||Wow... It's about TEAM||
Wow... It's about TEAM progress.
This year's team went 7-5 while last years went 5-7... the difference? Purdue was fielding almost all 2nd and 3rd stringers, which gave us one extra win. Illinois didn't have Juice WIlliams, who showed last year vs us that he clearly would have been the difference in a 3OT game.
In other games, we got beaten far worse by Mich St, far worse by Iowa, far worse by OSU, and we got beat about equally bad by a PSU team that was nowhere near the level of last yr's PSU team.
For the love of God can we stop acting like this team performed oodles better than the 2009 team because they won 2 more games? Look at the actual body of work and how the games actually transpired. And stop pretending it is irrational to think that RR should be fired. Every single person who follows college football closely (aside from maybe some of the ppl on this blog) would laugh in your face if they heard you talk as if firing Rich Rod isn't a decent option. It makes you sound like an idiot.
