....as always. I was trying to explain how recruiting 4-5 years ago has helped result in depth issues on defense to a member of the "Never Bash Lloyd" camp and it just wasn't sinking in. This post, however, does a great job.... although I think he'd be the type to skip the micro and go throw some salted, cured meat between 2 slices of marble rye.
Thanks for sharing. Definitely a great way of visualizing each player's performance for each.
How would it look to have a separate chart for each player showing each game's stats, which would allow you to see their progression throughout the season? (i.e. especially for our LBs, maybe a good way to see Ezeh and Mouton's development)? Not sure if it makes sense to use a vertical or horizontal chart to see the progression.
I agree though.... worthy of a front page bump!!
I'm hoping Leyland has Lyon and Seau lined up for the 7th & the 8th, with Seau preferably pitching against Mauer and Kubel. I don't know how I feel about keeping Minor in even though he got out of the 6th.
I think another CB you can add to the list is Dior Mathis, although I'm not sure he's as highly rated as Christian or if he'd come if CC commits. Either way, in my humble opinion you take as many decent CB prospects as you can. I'm just keeping my fingers crossed that Warren sticks around another year, and that we pull in a couple of LB commits.
I love it when "observer guy" says at the end how he thinks Michigan would have won if Forcier were 100% healthy. Nobody will know either way, but too bad he didn't tell that to Dantonio.
Nice post - As much as I hate losing to MSU I'm still excited about the direction the program is taking under RR. I love the fact that with us down by 14 and only 4 minutes to go in the game, I still have faith we can get back into it.
I thought GERG made some good adjustments at half time (how were we not within 10 yards of the slot receiver on those bubble screens in the first half??). That being said, we definitely need some help on the defensive side of the ball (Cullen Christian pleeeease).
And if anybody had doubts before this game.... Tate proved his MOXIE!!
Nice work - This sort of analysis isn't something you hear about and brings to light some interesting observations of how the Offense and Defense are performing based on the hands their dealt. I'd be interested to see how this plays out over the rest of the season as there are more data points.
Any idea what the numbers looked like for last year?
I was able to drive out early to the East Kentwood game a few weeks back and watched DG in warmups. At the time he definitely looked to be working more on his mechanics, which showed in the game. Most of his passes were crisp and hitting his targets right between the numbers (he did have a couple of long balls that were well overthrown, but impressive nonetheless).
Like other posters have already mentioned, his arm looks to be dropping again and almost pushing the ball on those screen passes, but it is just 1 game and I'm watching from video.
Either way, I'm excited as hell he's going to be a Wolverine. He's still raw but incredibly talented and dangerous.
