|2 weeks 2 days ago||I watched him when he played SDSU last year||
I was really interested in if he was number quality as this was in December or early January so I was eyeing him the whole time. The guy was lazy, didn't care about defense, and only rebounded if the ball fell in his lap or he could do a put back dunk. What was there to like about this guy? He also looked out of shape. He was like a less skilled worse shooting Michael Beasley.
Scouts fall in love with this SF/PF tweeners with skills but as we've seen with Beasley and Derrick Williams it's not the best idea.
|2 weeks 3 days ago||The Sixers are tanking||
and Darius is playing well. So why keep him, right?
|3 weeks 3 days ago||And 60 year old coaches talking to 15 and 16 year old kids isn't||
If you thinking recruiting is creepy then don't follow it.
|3 weeks 4 days ago||I would ignore Herbert||
He has been pushing this 'Wiggins is not that great' agenda for months and will find or make up anything to prove his point. No scout worth his salt would say, "no way he goes number 1." They might say that they doubt he does because they like someone else better but Wiggins is way too talented no know what he cieling is yet.

I don't know why we didn't put the subs in 10 minutes ago.
|3 weeks 5 days ago||This is a good question. I'm glad you asked.||
I posted this in a thread last week but no one answered. I think we should be very concerned about our big man depth for 2014 and 2015. Donnal and Doyle don't project as defensive first centers and neither are known for their shot blocking. That's a much more valuable trait now that charge calls are so hard to come by. When Horford is on the bench next year we will have air behind him when it comes to any defensive presence. 2015 could be worse unless we find a defensive center for the 2014 or 2015 recruting classes. If these block/charge rules stick then your larger more athletic types are going to become much more important than your Jordan Morgan types on the defensive end.

Maybe your predictions would be more useful if you made them a little earlier in the week. Like not the day of. You see, the day of I'm probably already at the game tailgating, it's a little late for weather predictions.
|4 weeks 5 days ago||Is anyone else worried about center depth next year?||
McGary is the only true center we have recruited in the last 3 years and if he leaves at the end of the year we will have Horford and air backing him up. I will be happy to see 5 year player with defensive chops starting next year but equally worried any time he goes out for a rest or with foul trouble. I know Ricky Doyle is a big body but he is not known for his defense yet and are we really counting on him to back up Horford next year or start in case of an injury?
Any chance we go after a defense first big man for the 2014 class? Or do we just hope the our current guys make some major improvements?
|4 weeks 5 days ago||I've noticed this for TomVH for 3 or 4 years now||
I'm surprised this hasn't been mentioned too much before. It seems like almost every time Tom was wrong the last 4 years or so it also coincided with the recruit not talking to Tom leading up to the announcement. I think once a recruit has legitimately decided he is not interested in a team anymore or knows where he is going there really is no reason to continue the dialogue with gurus for said team.
|6 weeks 1 day ago||Not enough of a chance?||
Seems like everyone is getting a chance this year.
|6 weeks 1 day ago||But why can't this be done in a respectful way?||
I never root for a player to transfer or leave the team for any reason unless they commit some terrible atrocity. But if I were to say that player x who hasn't redshirted and would have two years of eligibility left and also happens to live far from Michigan might transfer, what's wrong with that?
Also, what happened to the days where there was some real insider info on the MGoBoard and we might have a heads up about a transfer before it happened?
I just don't see the hard as long as we are respectful and not hoping that players leave to free up a scholarship.
For example, if someone said, "Norfleet has two years of eligiblity left even after a redshirt and if he values playing time over graduating at Michigan I wouldn't be surprised if he left," I don't see what's so bad about. Then we could have a discusson about how sad that would be if Norfleet never found a place in our offense and what that would mean for our offense going forward and so on and so on.
|6 weeks 5 days ago||Powerhouse?||
Besides the weather is there any reason if we invest the money in the program Michigan can't be consistenly in the top10-15 year after year? It's seems like our expectations are pretty low. What does the best team in a terrible conference really get you anyways?
|7 weeks 2 days ago||That just seems ridiculous||
So once every 4 years we'll have an OL where we have 30+ starts under the belt of every player? How about the other three years? We'll just be bad? That's crazy the experience plus pedigree of our OL is at least average. With good coaching our OL should be above average no problem. There's no excuses for it not to be.
|7 weeks 5 days ago||RPS -4?||
Seriously, I want to know what Brian gives this play.
|8 weeks 2 days ago||That doesn't work if you have a an Android phone||
I would be nice if it would though.
|8 weeks 4 days ago||Can I just +1 everyone in this thread?||
I love reading these kind of debates. No one made any accusations at Brian nor chided a player for being an idiot. Constructive criticism is possible!
|8 weeks 4 days ago||I've enjoyed his analysis||
But he hasn't once stated exactly what he thinks should have happened given what he Mike Will and playside DE were doing. He has mostly just been negating everyone else's arguement.
Also, I like how Brian gives credit linemen reading and reacting. He consistenly points out when linemen do positive things that aren't neccessarily part of their assignment but are helpful for maximizing that particular play.
What if Lewan and Shofield left for the WLB and MLB at the same time? What if they both stayed on the DE because neither had a good angle? In either case it would have been a worse result for the play. Isn't it possible that both of them executed correctly given the circumstances? They are 5th year seniors after all.
|8 weeks 4 days ago||Are you sure?||
If you've ever watched basketball at the NBA level you would realize that many PG's play off the ball. I could name Mo Williams, Chalmers, George Hill, whoever is playing with Kobe, and the list goes on. PG just means you bring the ball up the court most of the time. There are many talented wings that run the offense just as much if not more than the PG's do. That's not always a knock on the PG, that's usually because the wing is a good facilitator.
|9 weeks 1 day ago||Dude, shut up||
It's been 4 games, your arguement sucks.
|9 weeks 2 days ago||So it's completely crazy to think that one of the best||
coaches in America in one of the most talent rich areas can have enormous success without cheating. Cmon, we're better than that. I'd like to think that if we started dominating other schools wouldn't automatically assume that we were cheating.
|9 weeks 2 days ago||This is a non-story||
This is all you got guys? Alamaba self-reported which means their compliance staff is doing their job. They will lose a great member of their team for several games for it. Why should any school self-report if a minor violation would result in a full scale NCAA investigation?
Alabama very well may be dirty but this isn't exactly the smoking gun.
|9 weeks 3 days ago||I honestly think we should have more Hello posts||
Why hasn't anyone else from the rowing team ever gotten a hello post? Are they worthy? I've see a women's water polo hello post; what we don't have any bloggers interested in talking about that sport. Michigan gives out almost 350 athletic scholarships a year and if you count partial scholarships you are looking at easily in the 400's. I think that's easily enough for every single day of the year.
Imagine waking up every day knowing that somebody somewhere will commit to play a varsity sport at Michigan. Pretty amazing, right?
|9 weeks 3 days ago||I'm pretty sure Brian said OT season is over||
with the exception of the occasional local pro sports team and of course USMNT.
|9 weeks 4 days ago||That's true||
I meant Bogota or Bogotá.
|9 weeks 4 days ago||Winston Shepard?||
With his skill set and length he sounds like Winston Shepard from SDSU. Monster talent who played pg at times last year but still trying to figure out how to use that talent.
|9 weeks 4 days ago||Not sure if serious||
I lived in Colombia of for 1 1/2 years from '03 to '06 and I can say it is awesome and one of the safer cities in latin america. It's completely insane to compare it to Syria.
Also his home stadium (El Coliseo) seats over 20,000 people and is a badass place to play. I'm sure he is not making much but I can't imagine he is not having a great time playing there.
Hey, no Chris Hunter update?
Also, Morris could not have landed in a better place. The 76ers have very little talent and he only has to beat out a rookie to start. If he doesn't he will still get 15-20 minutes a game. I'm very excited to see what he can do.

Mealer didn't have any crowd noise last year. Big difference.
|10 weeks 3 days ago||Thanks for the explanation.||
I just thought Butt could have taken the corner out and Toussaint was kind of blindsided but I guess you have to ding someone pretty bad for fumbling even if they get destroyed. Maybe Butt gets a penalty if cut blocks the corner? I remember that happening a lot during the RR era.
|10 weeks 3 days ago||Disagree on Toussaint -3 on fumble||
After Butt releases he completely biffs on blocking the corner and almost gets Toussaint killed. If he cuts that guy or knocks him out of bounds Toussaint gets a couple more yards before the safety tackles him. I would say Butt (-2) and Toussaint (-1) for not holding onto the ball when he gets lit up.

Until yesterday your user name was Bryan Mac (at least it had been for the last several months). Your UCONN preview last week was posted under the name Bryan Mac. Is that someone else with the same avatar?
