Nice update, Ace. That moguls video demonstrates how incredible olympic level skiers are. Then again, olympic skiers aren't 6'6 250.

Also great to see a old-fashioned 5 FAKES 40 time.

Very interesting. I take it he'll contribute on special teams too.

I'll definetely keep an eye on the Browns.

Don't get this

I'm not familiar with this writer, but I don't understand the first sentence: "Jabrill Peppers was a trial balloon for the modern NFL." How can this be past tense? He's never played a game! Plus the article seems to suggest the Browns want to use him as a traditional safety.

Anyway, I'm rooting for his continued success!

Not exactly

I think you're right in general, but this is a donation to an educational institution, what many consider charity, as opposed to the types of deductions and adjustments you are referring to. Here, the rules are complicated because the donation is an asset as opposed to cash.

Not money

you're right -- this article is impossible to follow, but the crux is he donated an asset as opposed to cash and then played fast and loose with the rules for valuing that asset. Allegedly.

Checked Kenpom ratings for

Checked Kenpom ratings for all 4 directional schools, and State is comfortably ahead of Central and Western, and 30 spots ahead of Eastern. =)

A disproportionate number of Crystal Ball pickers are focused on Michigan. (Some, but not all, are also homers.) I'm mostly a lurker, but we all need to start accounting for this in future ballz threads.

Recruiting Question

Without discussing specific players, should we raise an eye brow when a player cancels a visit and gives the public/media a half-baked excuse? Something along the lines of "I couldn't get a ride." I always think back to this anonymous quote from the infamous "Bag Man" story.

The bag men associated with certain schools pay potential signees one-time bonus payments not to visit a rival school that's offered a scholarship. The going rate is stated to be $2,500. This has become a popular tactic in recent years, as the recruiting process has become more publicized.

"You can have a rival coach who is considered a great recruiter, and he might say, 'We feel great about this kid, if we can just get him on campus.' Well, what if you can't even get him to show up? How great a recruiter are you now?

Agreed. The NFL has reveune

Agreed. The NFL has reveune sharing, so the average or median revenue is what everyone should be looking at.

That said, it is annual revenue, not revenue over a four year education.  Nigel Hayes is getting 1/4 of what he is worth (according to this metric).
