We may hate to admit it at this point, but I think Lochte passed Spitz in Rio

The novice in you doesn't understand how very different the techniques are. I, for example, can't swim, breastroke to,save my life, despite being very proficient in two other strokes. For Phelps to put all four together dominantly (4 consecutive golds in 200 IM) strikes me as nothing short of incredible.
I don't deny Bolt's greatness. But for those of you bemoaning the lack of event diversity available to him...why doesn't he run the 110 hurdles?

Found a reasonably priced pool to swim in, getting up to go about 4x a week. I'm up to about 4k, but still can't keep up with the older guys that train year-round. Haven't lost any weight yet because swimming makes me hungry all the time, but I definitely feel stronger.

Just earned a Masters in Ag Engineering from OSU. I was able to pick up my diploma with a smile, which is more than I can say when I was issued a BuckID two years ago.
But, I have an application in with the Great Lakes Commission in A2, so maybe things will work out.

Without even considering safe areas vs places to avoid, I wouldn't run in downtown LA given the air quality. Don't know why you would subject your lungs to that if you're a health-conscious person.

Without looking at the results, I think the 400 Medley was easily our worst at Big Ten Championships. So missing finals (but still scoring) doesn't necessarily imply a finish outside the top-ten. Still, if you wonder what the difference is between UM's relay and the top finishers, look no further than our lack of a championship-level breaststroker.

The 50 (and to a lesser extent the 100) is often a crapshoot. The slightest screw-up can cost you a season of work. Evidence: the difference between qualifying for the final heat (#8) and finishing 23rd is 0.4 seconds. So, in the sprints, one should always go all-out.

I recall having this option as well, able to watch all the games. But, it disappeared shortly after the tournament last year and I havent seen it since. I'm hoping it'll pop up again after they announce the field.
Edit: cant remember if I had it through Roku, but I know had it on my phone.

I've been saying it for years, but we've never reached it... There's got to be a threshold at some point, right? A level where a human cannot possibly swim faster? And yet.

And I suspect thats exactly what he'll become, much as Skywalker became a brooding badass in VI. Character development, give it time.

There is no denying that Kylo Ren comes across as a "whiny little teenager." But Luke Skywalker started Ep. IV as an equally petulent child. It is easy to complain about his immature personality, but bear in mind that this is a trilogy, not a single movie. There is plenty of time for this character to develop; it should lend some interesting juxtaposition to watch two novice Force-users learn and grow while following different paths (Light vs Dark sides)

A school is limited in the number of swimmers it can bring to the conference meet. Each swimmer is limited to a certain number of events, but where they are entered is up to each team.

You left out a real downer... in the 500, after swimming for over 4 minutes, Nielsen got touched out by .06 seconds! UM still placed 3 in the top 6.
On a side note, cannot believe 19.30 is only good for a B cut. Good thing Powers got his A in prelims.

The way this team plays, I would not be surprised if they were able to reach 16 points with only field goals.

My family tradition starts with us waking up really early and departing Columbus for A2 before the drooling hordes arrive. We then meet my dad at the McDonalds in Findlay, where we give knowing nods and smiles to all of the Ohio-resident, maize-and-blue faithful that also make a stop there. Then a straight shot up to Ann Arbor where we stroll the neighborhoods east of the stadium and comment on how great it would be to live there all the time.
This tradition will not be renewed this year as we have been priced out by the athletic department. Whoever is sitting in Section 5, Row 48... keep the seats warm.

A couple of years ago, I went to Slovenia and Croatia. As former Yugoslav states, Americans tend to think of them as hostile war zones, but that was over 20 years ago now. Slovenia is a well established part of the EU with a prosperous economy, while Croatia is one of the most popular vacations spots among those from northern Europe.
In western Slovenia, outdoor sportsmanship is the primary attraction in the eastern edge of the Alps, which slope down into wine country in the eastern part of the country. Croatia is a beach destination, with a thousand miles of coastline. But don't miss to highlights: Plitvicka Nat'l Park has the clearest water you've ever seen, and Dubrovnik isn't called "the Pearl of the Adriatic" for nothing.

In college, I attended a game at West Virginia in 2005 vs. a nobody (I looked it up - Wofford!). I recall it being about half full, even though it was a nice September afternoon. Otherwise, there wasn't much to say about it. It was early in Pat White's freshman year, so he wasn't even a big deal yet. They did love them some PacMan Jones at the time, though.

I think this is the point that tips it toward attending the game. If you're going to be with OSU people, the physical confrontations will be fewer. Of course there will always be heckling, but that's what a rivalry is all about.
I've attended several times with my OSU friend. If your OSU friends are actually friends, they'll help to steer you away from the worst tailgates.

2. 30+ (How long ago was 1972?)
Reason: Family sat in same spot since my dad played + how impossible will it be to get tickets when the team is good again?
Admission: We are getting very close to being priced out of the stadium.
