For those of you that are season ticket holders--are you cool with 6 home game (vs. the 8 that we have been used to)?
That was the set-up with the schedule as is. We still get Nebraska, Penn State, and Wisconsin at home in '18. For all we know all 3 of those teams could be better then MSU at that point.
I'd rather have 3 tough road games (ala this year) then play 6 on the road in a year. As we saw at Minnesota/Indiana last year, it's tough to survive them all.

Almost 20 commits already! Will be interesting if any of these guys drop off as the year progresses. Always happens, but still a lot of season left to be 75% full.......
|2 weeks 4 days ago||Road games are a different||
Road games are a different beast in College Football. Remember that Michigan was 2 goaline stands away from losing to Minnesota and Indiana on the road last year. Minnesota and IU are not MSU/Iowa/OSU. That was with a Sr. QB too, not a 1st year starter going into East Lansing, Iowa at night, or the Shoe. Granted things might change as the year passes and we prove ourselves, but the books are going to be begging for the Michigan fan money in those road games this year.

Interesting that people are totally fine with a 44% 3 Point shooter with elite athleticism leaving. If Aubrey Dawkins was a grad transfer from let's say Valpo, with those stats, people would be drooling over him.
Huge loss for the program.

Levert was supposed to be our Perry Ellis. Injuries....
|18 weeks 2 days ago||I don't think this is about||
I don't think this is about Max, since we redshirted him freshman year. I think he's more so talking about teams like Michigan State (Forbes) and Maryland (Sulimon and Carter). These guys transferred in and totally changed those teams.
|18 weeks 3 days ago||Check out our 3-Point % in||
Check out our 3-Point % in the back half of the Big Ten Season (i.e. the part where we actually played decent team), we are at the mean.
There's a big difference between shooting wide open 3s and contested ones.
Next game will swing wildly on Irvin and whoever plays center. Irvin has a speed mis-match on Colson. Auguste should be salivating at our centers. If we win those match-ups, we win the game.
|19 weeks 6 days ago||Relax||
People need to relax. No Walton or Caris for a majority of last year.
If we have Spike and Caris this year, are they worth 1 more win in the Big Ten? The answer is yes--at least 1. That would put us in the tournament.
Instead of an exhausted Walton at the end of the game, we have a guy like 70% of his current units and Spike coming off the bench for instant offense.
Instead of scoreless streaks during the game, we have Caris who can get to the hoop on his own and either score or set somebody else up.
Was this year disappointing? Of course. But name another team that is in the tourney this year without 2 of their top 5 players.
Everyone will improve again next year and we will be a tourney team next year.
|22 weeks 4 days ago||Recruits||
I really hope Michigan & Harbaugh communicated this to guys like David Long and Lavert Hill ahead of time. It's not fair to them to have your future coach leave 2 weeks after signing day.
We all hammered OSU for this after the Mike Weber recruitment, i'd hate to be the pot calling the kettle black in this case.
|24 weeks 6 days ago||Also, with those 2 flips and||
Also, with those 2 flips and IF a gary flip to MSU happens...MSU likely to finish with a better class then M.
Guess we shouldn't call them dead yet....
|24 weeks 6 days ago||Things are coming back to||
Things are coming back to bite Harbaugh and his lack of recruiting in Michigan. Word on the streets is that he's interested in the kids just Cali and Florida...not the local kids. We all know this isn't true to some extent (look at 2017 offers), but we could very well end up with no players from Michigan in this class. MSU doing a great job of turning Harbaugh's national tactics against him and continuing to pound the "spart dawgs" and "us against the world" attitude.
Hill, Onwenu trending MSU
|25 weeks 2 days ago||Good Coach||
Kelly is a good coach and has them trending in the right direction. They got killed with injuries this year, but were a FG or 2 point conversion away from beating two top 4 teams in Stanford and Clemson.
They lose some talent next year in guys like Fuller, Stanley, Jaylon Smith, and Russell but bring back several guys from injury including Malik Zaire.
They get MSU, Stanford, The U, and Va Tech all at home next year. They just have to go to USC. I see them as a playoff challenger on paper.
That early season ND-MSU game will be a big test to see which way those teams are trending in '16.
|25 weeks 6 days ago||Ohio||
Look what heavily recruiting Ohio has gotten us under Hoke. Harbaugh realizes that the best athletes come from SEC country and California. I think we will probably have more transfers than we have historically, but we will be getting much better athletes.
|26 weeks 6 days ago||Not trolling, just being||
Not trolling, just being realistic. Onwenu is our only guy from the state of Michigan this year. 3 last year with Cole, Malzone, and Perry.
|26 weeks 6 days ago||MSU has been killing it in||
MSU has been killing it in Detroit. Sounding more and more like Onwenu and Hill end up at MSU.
This is setting up to be a real tough battle in 2017 when the state of Michigan has some real talent. Michigan will have very little from the state coming in 2015 and 2016 classes while MSU has a whole pipeline....
Hoping that I'm wrong.
|32 weeks 6 days ago||Injuries||
It's really frustrating to pin the defensive performance at the end of the season on injuries. Every team has injuries. If you're licking your chops at our defense next year, what happens if Lewis goes down? Or glasgow tears an ACL in spring?
MSU lost their best LB, best safety, its QB for the biggest game, and 3/5 of it's O-line at one point and still found ways to win. We need to get to the point where it's next man up and injuries aren't an excuse to lose by 28 points to OSU.

|38 weeks 5 days ago||Agree with this. Really||
Agree with this. Really worried that Wormley, Henry, and Lewis could all make the jump to the NFL in the offseason. Could be a reason why we are taking 28 recruits this year, but they are proving that they are ready.
|38 weeks 5 days ago||MSU||
After reading through this, it makes me less confident that OSU or anybody else beats MSU prior to the playoff. We have a top 3 defense and yet Cook was so on point. Can any other defense stop this O?
Their D is a whole other story. We should have had 30+ points, but I"m sure we'll see that in the UFR tomorrow.
|39 weeks 6 days ago||The real question is why we||
The real question is why we have any gunners at all. There are 10 MSU players in that picture. Michigan has 5 on the line, plus 3 in the shield. 10 guys for 8 blockers. Doomed from the start.
|44 weeks 4 days ago||Really hoping to see some||
Really hoping to see some turnovers in the upcoming games. Against good teams--turnovers make all the difference, especially for an offensive that lacks dynamic ability. I'm really hoping to see some INTs in the next few games. It seems like forever since we've had multiple INTs in a game (0 so far this year....other than the hail mary)
|46 weeks 4 days ago||It's fun to go back and read||
It's fun to go back and read the comments on this post from 2014 and 2013. It's amazing the # of 10-2 predictions we have every year. The approaching season always brings optimism.
Hopefully a dose of Harbaugh actually brings that optimism to life...
|46 weeks 4 days ago||Brian--would love to hear||
Brian--would love to hear your thoughts on turnovers....do we get more takeaways this year? I know we always talk about fumble-luck, but there hasn't been much talk in the way of our D forcing TOs.
Also, does this D blitz more or less than in years past?
|46 weeks 5 days ago||Stopping the run is going to||
Stopping the run is going to be key. Their star RB barely even played against us last year (Utah version of Drake Johnson) and is coming in with all the confidence in the world. Stop the run, you slow down the offense.
A few turnovers would be nice too...
|46 weeks 6 days ago||Vegas||
I'm with all of you guys that Harbaugh should be a huge factor on Thursday. With that said, road games in college football, no matter who the coach is, always create problems.
With that, Vegas started this line at Utah -3.5 and its up to Utah -5.5 or Utah -6 at some places. People aren't blindly putting money on Utah, those are sharps see lots of value on Utah. That always gets me worried.
This is a better Utah team than the one we lost to last year and we're playing at their place. Going to be a tough game no matter what.

Wouldn't be surprised if Lewis didn't make the trip to Utah. Tough loss early for the defense
|49 weeks 1 day ago||Thursday||
I usually can't wait for that first Saturday in the year, but the Thursday game is throwing a kink in the things this year.
What is everyone's plans for the Utah game? Are you taking work off that day/the next day? Doing normal tailgate-type activities? It just doesn't feel right to me. Being in central time, I'll need to leave work at a decent time, grab some beer, and make it to the couch in time for the game. It just doesn't feel the same as the whole Saturday morning worth of prep.
Can't complain though, it's still Michigan football!
