Doesn't Tony Paco's serve…

Edited: should have read all comments before posting Tony Paco's... Idiot

My wife and I were at the…

My wife and I were at the game. It was our first night out since the birth of our first child. Neither of us partook in the chant, but actually talked about it on the way home. We wondered what we would tell our son they were chanting if he was at the game. I said we would say everyone was saying “Buck Ohio”. Since they are buckeyes and we want to buck them off the court like a bull rider. It would be dumb but to a young kid might make sense.

I agree that this chant is DAF but I may or not have been chanting it in my head right along with them

They used to be good in the…

They used to be good in the 90's.

Wrestling is somewhat…

Wrestling is somewhat different when it comes to redshirts as well. Since it is an Olympic sport you see many of the top wrestlers redshirt while they are training for the Olympics/trials. Also, injuries in wrestling often cause a number of redshirts as well, as guys will opt for a redshirt if available rather than wrestle at 80 percent, and instead get completely healthy. The good thing about wrestling is you can redshirt, but still wrestle in the open tournament where you can wrestle unattached to Michigan.

Stopped in there as a kid

Stopped in there as a kid when driving by the stadium with my friend and his mom, not sure on the saeason but somewhere between March-May. Jay Feely and the punter at the time were in the stadium kicking. We caught the field goals for Jay and threw them back on the field, then he invited us down on the field to (attempt) to catch kickoffs and Punts. one of my favorite memories from my childhood.

Guilty of using the exit to bathrooms.

I am a season ticket holder, and have been my whole life (dads tickets prior). I am guilty of this with a caveat. I wait in the line until I reach the doors, then hop over to the exit side. There are always the last 4 open urinals. the line wouldnt be as bad if people didnt always stop at the first available urinal. there are alsways urinals open at the exit.

PCL

PCL tears dont normally require surgery if you can handle a little bit of soreness. I actually have a torn PCL and have lived with it for roughly 7 years now. Granted I am not a D1 college football player, but I am a pretty stellar Beer League Softball player. The doctor who diagnosed me, actually said that Barry Sanders played most of his career with a torn PCL (not sure the validity).

Heres a link that might help you understand after a quick Lougle search... http://www.sportsinjuryclinic.net/sport-injuries/knee-pain/pcl-injury

Common

This is common on defenses where they are confident in their personal in switching responsibilitites, and being able to still be in good shape. I played 4 years in D3 we never had a guy go in motion with the motion back. We would simply make a call to change the strength, and or coverage, and switch responsibilities. This way the motion is not getting you out of position.

Now if we are playing someone with a Slot receiver who is incredible, and in man coverage, then you may see peppers, JL, etc go in motion with the receiver to lock him down.

only question...

Is what will Grapentine (the PA announcer) say when the attendance for that week is announced? Traditionally it has contained "..thank you for being part of the largest crowd watching a football game in America today" Is he going to add "in a football stadium"

forgive me

first time posting a picture, not sure how to scale it to appropriate size

Great seats

Let me preface this as there is not a bad seat in the BIG house. I have been blessed to have season tickets since I came out of the womb with an enthusiasm unknown to mankind. My dad first purchased season tickets in 1972 (roughly) and we have had the same seats since.

We are in section 17 row 60 seats 21 and 22. I enjoy being up high and able to see the play develop. If i want to see something up close, I just take a look up at the scoreboard for a replay.

you will be one section over (to the right in the picture), and about 25 rows higher.

Was at that game 2 years ago... Awesome game that SC won. Was my first experience with SEC football, and even though I hate the SEC, their fans are definitley passionate.

More like a nightmare...

see dream below... double post

More like a nightmare...

Wasnt my first, but I had a dream two nights ago where Michigan was losing 24-10 to Rutgers with a minute left... This was not the main part of the dream, but I immediately woke up... Was hard to go back to sleep after that.

agree...kind of

I am a big fan of the white pants. But would also like to see them wear maize on the road some games as well.

small changes

As expected there were not many major changes. I will say I think we will look much better in the Nike (Jordan) uniforms simply because the cut and material of the jerseys is better than addidas.

The one thing I noticed that I am not sure I am a fan of is the helmets appear to have blue chin straps. This is something I like for other teams and what I wore in college, but I always liked that michigan stuck with white chin straps.

Was there from fall 04-spring

Was there from fall 04-spring 09. Then coached the 2009 football season as well. I was there when Docking took over. It changed drastically over my 5 years, and has changed even more since. Loved that place.

Splitting up practice

I played 5 years at Adrian College. In fall camp there would be seperate practices for JV and varsity. In Division III since there are no redshirts (with the exception of medical redshirts) NCAA allows for a JV schedule. The JV team is primarily made up of freshman/sophomores who are not on the travel squad or the 3 deep. In Fall camp the JV team starts out as mostly all freshman. This will allow the coaching staff to get a better look at the incoming guys. They get more reps, individual time, etc. Then the guys who are coming into camp on the two/three deep get more reps. As camp went on the practices would become more integrated.

Granted we usually had 175-200 guys on the team since there are no roster restrictions at the DIII level. So it was a slightly different situation. But I am not sure this was a standard practice at other small colleges.

Our coach at the time was Jim Lyall who played at Michigan under Bo. Curious to know if this was a practice that Bo used during spring practice/fall camp, and may be where Harbaugh got the idea.

Iowa

I will be going to the Iowa game, but I live in central illinois now so it is really close. I went to the CMU/Iowa game a few years back (CMU won), and to be honest Iowa city was amazing. Alot of great bars, and a great atmosphere in general. Kinnick is not the largest stadium but was a good place to watch a football game.

Gus Johnson?

You can't be talking about Gus Johnson? He is the most exciting commentator in sports currently. He could make a chess match exciting to watch. Way better than Joe Buck. Not to mention he is from the great state of Michigan.

Here is a little snippett

Here is a little snippett from a clemson board...

"huge pressure on him to go to Michigan (UofM paid a high price and may have threatened to pull the coaching job and other scholarships if he didn't commit). It's pretty shocking that we made the final 2 when we were late starting to recruit him. He may be there longer than Harbaugh (Michigan doesn't show much loyalty to coaches). Michigan sucks in the Winter (I lived there for 6 long years). UofM has big football history - wish him well."

how could I forget...

Tony G. Also Antonio Gates did not play football in college.

So does...

Julius Peppers and Connor Barwin. Even Tai streets played some when he switched over (given the team was not that great in those days). But Julius played for UNC, and Barwin at Cincy.

My brother has a similar bet

My brother has a similar bet with his buddy. Except, instead of a head cover, the loser must use a golf bag of the winners school. Needless to say a Michigan bag has not yet been bought, and the buckeye bag is now broken...

Why dont they have it closer

Why dont they have it closer to the stadium?

just an assumption

I would assume, BTN would put it on their alternate channel at noon, and then replay it at its regularly scheduled time.

But you know what happens when you assume.
