I admire your optimism, but I don't think we have anyone on this team (right now) that fills the caliber of leadership that we got collectively from Molk, Koger, RVB, Martin, etc.

Lose to App State: Hoke better not be allowed to get off the field without getting his pink slip first. That might go for DB too. The program might need to get shut down for the rest of the year if this happens. It'd be a media shitstorm the likes of Michigan fans wouldn't be allowed to forget for another century.

I think this really tells us all what we already know, but just don't want to hear:
OSU is just a more appealing option than Michigan right now. They've won 24 games in 2 years, led by a proven winner at head coach, and we're fresh off an uninspiring 7-6 season in which our offense was a complete tire fire, and our O-Line was a mess of historic proportions.
If Nuss, his own damn offensive coordinator for two years, couldn't even get him to come here, what does that say about the state of our program?

If Michigan has a competent O-Line by then, perhaps you'll be right. Otherwise, I don't see us leaving with a W. All else being equal, let's also not forget that this team has been terrible on the road under Hoke.

I can't see why Beilein would be alright with McGary ditching his final, even if he was planning to leave school. Either way, don't read into it too much.

It's not the only factor, but start winning some damn football games and get people interested again. People want to watch an exciting, and most importantly, a winning product.

So is our 100,000 home attendance streak in jeopardy this year? I figure if they keep upping ticket prices with crap-tacular home schedules like this, it's only a matter of time.

I'm sorry, but I hate hearing that crap about new age spread offenses being the only ones capable of winning championships. It's not the system; it's the coaches and the players within that system.

If your dog is having seizures, and especially multiple seizures, do not sit on this. Go to a vet. One seizure could be minor, but if they're having multiple seizures, like my girlfriend's dog had recently, it could be indicative of much bigger problems, i.e. a tumor.

Welcome to the dead zone my friend. Football and basketball season are over.

Unless everyone on his board knows something that I don't, I think you're a bit premature in your post. You talk about McGary as if he's already said he plans to be back. We don't know that yet.
|1 week 16 hours ago||There isn't any one||
There isn't any one particular moment for either of them with me.
Stauskas: Going all-world against Florida and making Donovan's team look like a bunch of chumps. That ice-cold 3 pt shot at Wisconsin to put the game away. Blowing kisses to the mongrel hordes within Breslin. Watching him get insanely pumped up after banking yet another 3 against MSU at home this year. That go-ahead 3 against OSU last year that sent Crisler into a raging fury.
GRIII: 360 dunk against Minnesota last year, having the half of his life against #1 ranked Arizona and shutting a lot of people up, bringing the house down against MSU this year with that beautiful alley-oop from Stauskas and essentially putting the game away. I know I'm forgetting some but oh well.
Damn happy to have had these guys in a Michigan uniform. They represented the school and the program well. Although I selfishly wished they could've stayed, I don't blame them for leaving for one second. Go chase the dream, fellas. You've earned it.

Depends on how their careers go. Its great to have the degree no matter what, but if you're tearing up the NBA, aren't you going to want to spend more time on that making sure it stays that way vs. finishing a degree you know you'll never use?
|1 week 1 day ago||Those two, even if they never||
Those two, even if they never become NBA stars, are already making more money than most of us on this board do. They get paid to play a game. If that's the posse you're talking about, by all means sign me up.
|1 week 1 day ago||I haven't been able to figure||
I haven't been able to figure this out: are there still the "lower tier" bowl games that are going to happen, i.e. The Outback Bowl, Alamo Bowl, etc.?
|1 week 1 day ago||I'm not worried about||
I'm not worried about Stauskas and Robinson leaving. Yes they're tough to replace, and I don't want to downplay Stauskas' importance to the team this year, but Beilein has stockpiled talent that can shoot 3 pointers. Next year could potentially be his most athletically gifted team yet.
|1 week 1 day ago||Reason for optimism? Let's||
Reason for optimism? Let's try the fact that it almost can't be any worse than it was last year. It was a half step above Gardner hiking the ball to himself every snap.
|1 week 1 day ago||Right, this is what I'm sure||
Right, this is what I'm sure Urban Meyer had in mind when he decided to recruit the kid. Just to troll Michigan.
|1 week 2 days ago||Hard for me to blame him if||
Hard for me to blame him if he does leave. He's staring his dream right in the face, and now might be his best chance to go. He's been playing out of his natural position for the past 2 years, and there's no guarantee it'd be anything different next year.
But boy, do we need McGary back now. Beilein will find a way to adapt no matter who we have on the court, but if we lose Stauskas, Robinson, and McGary, we could really be in trouble. Especially without a true big man.
|1 week 2 days ago||Ehh I'm fine with this. As||
Ehh I'm fine with this. As long as he doesn't make personal attacks, I don't see why anyone should be up in arms over this. Its a rivalry, you're supposed to poke fun at each other. If it was Gardner doing this, we'd all be singing his praises for doing it.
|1 week 2 days ago||Wow, Joffrey died a lot||
Wow, Joffrey died a lot sooner than I thought he would. But you know its the mark of a great actor when everyone praises his character dying in the most painful fashion.
|1 week 3 days ago||-Wins, for god's sake. I||
-Wins, for god's sake. I don't expect us to win a national title next year, or even a Big Ten title, but at least show me we're on the right track towards competing for one at some point in the near future.
-Player Development. Whatever Beilein does, Hoke needs to figure out how to do that. With the exception of a select few players, there has barely been anyone on this roster that has shown any form of consistent play. In fact, it seems like sometimes that some of the players get worse. Hopefully the addition of Nussmeier and shuffling around the defensive staff will improve this, but still, I'll believe it when I see it. I'd rather have an expert talent developer than an expert recruiter any day of the week.
Beat OSU and/or MSU. If you can't do this, I don't care if you're RichRod or Nick Saban, you're not going to last long at this school, and rightfully so. I'm tired of getting curb-stomped up and down the street by both of these schools. Sure, OSU has been much more competitive lately, but there is no such thing as "almost points" in football. They still beat us every year. And MSU, well, they're just the flat-out better program right now. In every phase of the game. And they know it, too. Thank god Beilein has turned the tide in both of these rivalries on the basketball court, otherwise this would undoubtedly be the most depressed fanbase of anywhere in America right now.
-Form a competent O-Line. Just....please do this. I'm not expecting an Alabama line out there, but make me believe we can at least fend off a pass rush from the Akrons and UConns of the world.
|1 week 3 days ago||Remind me, who did they||
Remind me, who did they spread the ball around to last year besides Miller and Hyde? Come on, man, while I do agree that Meyer's ideal offense is meant for spreading the ball all over the field, the run game was essentially their entire offense last year. None of their wideouts really ever intimidated me, mostly because Miller had some accuracy issues, and Dontre Wilson played like the freshman that he was.
