2 hours 54 min ago They should have just left it

They should have just left it at the first movie. That one was an all time classic, and there was almost no way they could possibly top it or not re-hash old material. Setting up additional movies was a recipe for failure.

3 hours 38 min ago Peppers seems to have a good

Peppers seems to have a good head on his shoulders so I'm not too concerned with the showboating right now. Hoke will have him get it under control if it ever goes too far, but at least it shows that he has confidence in himself.

20 hours 55 min ago I'll bet the season starts

I'll bet the season starts off in a rotation between Fitz and Green, but it wouldn't shock me if Green is starting by the end of the year, with Fitz taking on a V. Smith type role, probably just a little more expanded. I don't want to knock Fitz too much, as I think his lack of success last year was due, at least in part, to the fact that the interior of the offensive line last year just wasn't that good. I do think Fitz can be successful in a pro-style offense. But Green was built specifically for this kind of offense, so his ceiling is that much higher.

Green is a wrecking-ball, bowling ball, rumbling stumbling man child. One of my favorite quotes about him went something to the effect of "you could put him in a Wisconsin uniform, tell people he's a running back who just finished his junior year and rushed for 1700 yards and 15 touchdowns, and they'd probably believe you."

You've given this a lot of thought. I like it.

1 day 11 hours ago He started and played a good

He started and played a good chunk of his career there. It makes perfect sense that he'd want to end his career there.

Is Denver a better option as far as being a contender goes? Absolutely. But Woodson has got nothing left to prove. He's already had a long, illustrious career in the NFL. He's won a Super Bowl, and has made a case for himself to potentially be honored in Canton one day. Why not go back and play for a city that loves you and wants you back badly? In my opinion, the man couldn't ask for a better ending to his career.

1 day 14 hours ago Good for him. Started his

Good for him. Started his career there, its only fitting that he end it there. I'm sure Raiders fans are happy to have him back.

1 day 14 hours ago That's the South for you, and

That's the South for you, and it really shouldn't surprise you. Schools like that are filled with a bunch of southern belles and good ol' boys who's wardrobes consist of nothing but seersucker suits, Vinyard, Southern Tide, Lacoste, etc. It's not an SEC thing per se, its a Southern thing in general. They'd look like idiots at a Michigan game, but they fit right in down South. Just a culture thing.

1 day 17 hours ago I don't really hate the state

I don't really hate the state itself, but I thoroughly despise Ohio State as well as their fans. I hate that they have inexplicably had our number for a decade. Every fiber of my being hopes they lose every game by 40+. It would be pure euphoria for me to watch Jake Ryan come off of Braxton Miller's blindside, and drill his ass into the ground so hard that Braxton forgets who he is for 10 minutes. I wouldn't wish injury on him, but watching him lie on the ground would be beautiful.

Having said all that, I do respect them. As far as little brother goes, I more pity them than dislike them, and my respect level for them is minimal to zero.

1 day 17 hours ago I love Hoke, but as far as

I love Hoke, but as far as Michigan thoroughly hating OSU, those seeds were sewn in the Schembechler days.

1 day 18 hours ago I prefer to think of it as us

I prefer to think of it as us grabbing guys who were smart enough to get out of that shithole when they had the chance.

1 day 20 hours ago At the end of the day, in

At the end of the day, in some form, its always about money. More houses to put the BTN in, more access to academic research money, and so on. It's all for money. The Big Ten sure as hell didn't bring Maryland and Rutgers in to boost the conference's image on the football field or its overall athletic profile.

That's the short, crude way of looking at it, no doubt, but this wasn't like adding Nebraska, where you're bringing in another traditional powerhouse program with an insane fan/cult following that immediately boosts that competition amongst your football teams. This is about access to NYC/NJ and DC. And these new markets mean more money. Okay, yeah, Nebraska and its fans were a new market, but come on. The Big Ten added Nebraska because its frickin Nebraska. That's all they needed to know. But I guess that can also be equated to getting more money at the end of the day, so really, what do I know?

As far as Maryland/Rutgers go, if Delaney wanted better competition/additional exposure for the teams already in the conference, he could have looked elsewhere and found better options. This was a new markets/money move, because neither of those schools move the needle nationally on the field of play.

Better them than us. Sucks for them.

2 days 16 hours ago I don't think he ever said

I don't think he ever said his intent was to make a difference. Rather, just bring it to people's attention. And there might be some people out there who read this blog, don't listen much to the news, but when they find out about today's events through this blog, they'll go donate. In that instant, posting this thread would have been infinitely worth doing, even if it was just one person. I couldn't say with certainty that that's happened, but I'd like to think you get my point. Not exactly sure what fault you could possibly find in all of that, but if you want to be a Debbie Downer about it, then that's your problem.

As the old saying goes, if you don't like the thread, don't comment on it.

2 days 18 hours ago I'm not about to berate this

I'm not about to berate this guy. Quite frankly, I think its pretty damn hilarious that he was able to keep this persona up for so long and none of the alumni could pick up on it. At the very least, how do none of them look back and remember that there was no such man who scored a TD in the Rose Bowl? If you're a real fan, that's not something you tend to forget. Some of them had to be Ohio fans back in the 70s.

I'll make fun of these idiot alums before I make fun of the impersonator. People who have no minds of their own deserve to look like idiots.

2 days 21 hours ago Weird to think about how Mone

Weird to think about how Mone could be our "under the radar" guy when its all said and done, as far as the line is concerned. He really shouldn't even be under the radar. I've seen different sites say that if he just went to more camps, he'd probably be a top-100 recruit.

2 days 21 hours ago Normally I'd agree with you,

Normally I'd agree with you, but how do we go from having a great rushing attack in 2011 with Denard and Fitz to an essential implosion in 2012, sans Denard? No one in 2011 was recruited for Hoke's scheme on the O-Line, nor were any starters for 2012. Maybe it just means that Molk was really that important to the success of the line, but I don't know.

3 days 13 hours ago All Hail Tyrion Lannister.

All Hail Tyrion Lannister. God Of Tits And Wine. Also, Dany's boobs. Nice.

Not looking forward to their being off next week, but episode 9 seems to always be the big climax of the season, so I'm guessing it will be well worth the wait. I haven't read the books, but it looks like they're moving to end the season with Robb taking Casterly Rock and having the Lannisters by the balls.

Also hoping that before the season ends, they delve a little further into the tension that's assuredly brewing between Tywin and Joffrey. That scene last week with Tywin approaching the throne to look down on Joffrey was nothing short of amazing.

How anyone other than Michigan could win this is beyond me. The only other helmet in America that might be considered by the general populace to be "better" is Notre Dame's.

4 days 23 hours ago Meh, I'm over it. Yeah it

Meh, I'm over it. Yeah it sucked to watch, but I felt comfortable going to bed that night knowing Louisville was probably the better team, even if by just a slight margin. We play Louisville 10 times, we probably both win 5. Unfortunately, we only get one shot, and Louisville had to grind out that win. Besides, that call happened with about 5 minutes left. We still had time to make up for it, but we just could not get a stop. Period.

Louisville got its share of bad calls too, but the only difference was that our calls often happened at the worst possible times. Sucks, but not much you can do about that.

5 days 1 hour ago No offense, but you're an

No offense, but you're an idiot if you think Northwestern has less resources than Eastern Michigan to compete with for football recruits. They're getting, or have already gotten, some new facilities on Lake Michigan, not to mention the academic resources they can use to lure in recruits who are serious about an education are probably second to none.

5 days 2 hours ago I feel bad for Ron English.

I feel bad for Ron English. He's a good coach, but choosing to coach at Eastern Michigan is career suicide. There are zero resources, you are forever in Ann Arbor's shadow, so many of your students are commuter students and/or Michigan fans, so they have zero loyalty toward the school or your program. And its not like Ypsilanti is all that desirable of a town. Ypsilanti is like that unwanted stepchild with head lice that no one wants to talk to or be around. How English recruits kids to that school is beyond me.

When every other directional school in Michigan has had some form of success on the football field, but your school hasn't even sniffed a bowl game in 20+ years, any coach there is being set up for failure.
