Seems like Roy really has a good grip on things with the corners. Hopefully it should pay off big time this year.

Sheesh that was all kinds of depressing to read. So much talent and we can't seem to do anything with it. Hopefully Nuss and his up-tempo, simplified blocking scheme will allow these guys to gel together and live up their recruiting hype.

This game is lose-lose essentially. No matter what happens, ESPN and the rest of the world gets an excuse to remind us of the '07 Horror every day for the rest of the week and replay the ending over and over again. If we win, it still doesn't change the fact that we were part of the biggest upset in college football history. We'll still be reminded that we're only 1-1 vs. App State, and that we beat up on a nobody.

I'm no doctor or paramedic, but I doubt you're in much of a position to make that call. Besides, when you see someone in trouble like that, particularly a close family member, the adrenaline usually kicks in. Josh likely didn't give two shits about the most logical way to get down to the pool. He probably only cared about getting his nephew out as soon as possible.

Have a great time! Going into that stadium for the first time, seeing the band come out for the first time, and watching the team roar out of the tunnel for the first time gives any fan goosebumps. I hope your son has as an amazing first-game experience as I did my freshman year.

Hoke is the coach. I'm not. He's more in the knowledge on this stuff than I am, but at face value, this has the appearance of no one on the team stepping up (or stepping up enough) to be a leader. I hope I'm wrong, but if I remember correctly, Rodriguez did this too and I really didn't like it.

It'll be a noon game. Students will complain that it's too early. The old farts of the fanbase will rejoice that they don't have to wait until 3:30 to see Michigan play.

Treating App State like an exhibition is exactly why we lost to them in the first place. Even though this team isn't the same one that was winning I-AA titles left and right, don't think for one second that they won't be foaming at the mouth for a chance to upset us again. They've got absolutely nothing to lose in this game, so we'll be getting their A-game. I want us to be up by at least 30-40 before we pull our starters.

I think we see Marshall on the field this year. We're in a position where we've got some depth, but not enough to fully warrant a redshirt. Plus, Mattison likes to rotate his DL. Maybe he still does get a redshirt, but I bet he plays in a few games this season.

Ehh I'm not so sure about it. Its not like we need the additional revenue, and it'd be pretty pathetic for a place like Michigan to have to lure attendance in with alcohol. There's plenty of places in Ann Arbor to get your booze on. The Big House is sacred. Leave it alone.

I hope these guys get a chance to run free this Fall. They both look like absolute bruisers and I hope they don't get held back too much by the line.

|5 days 13 hours ago||I'm rather surprised by the||
I'm rather surprised by the amount of people on this thread claiming we'll beat OSU. Yeah, they don't have Braxton Miller anymore, but we're yet to even find out if we'll be able to move the ball or have an even mediocre OL.
Until proven otherwise, I can't see us having anything more than an 8-4, maybe a 9-3 year.
We will lose to ND, and it'll perhaps be the most frustrating loss of the year. Much like 2012, our defense will keep us in the entire game and cause Golson to make some mistakes in his first true game back. However, the ND defense will wreak havoc on our grossly inexperienced O-Line. We'll lose an ugly 13-7 kind of game. We'll sit there saying to ourselves at the end of the game that if we'd had even just a mediocre O-Line, we could've beaten ND handily.
The O-Line starts making gradual improvements, and the team gets to 5-1 leading up to PSU. We win a VERY CLOSE game. Hackenberg is the absolute real deal and makes some damn good throws, but he does not have Allen Robinson to bail him out anymore. Nor does he have the home crowd at his back. Peppers puts the game on ice and picks Hackenberg off to shut down any chance of PSU beating us for a second straight year.
However, whether or not we are emotionally drained from this game won't matter the next week when we go into EL. Their defense might take a step back from last year, but they are still a better team. Its not a blowout, but we never really feel like we're in it, either. 27-17 Sparty.
Barely squeak by Indiana (again). In the end, their defense is just far too crappy to turn around in one year. 7-2 heading into Evanston, and yet, here comes that yearly headscratcher we're all used to. This is a team we should wipe the floor with, but Sieman somehow wills this team to victory after the previous two years of horrific luck they've had against us.
Stefon Diggs gets his the following week, but he can't do it all by himself. 8-3 heading into Columbus, against an 10-1 OSU team fighting like hell for a spot in the first playoff. Barrett had some growing pains throughout the year, and gets exposed as the freshman he is in OSU's lone loss to MSU. But as we're all accustomed to by now, he will somehow step up and play at his best against us. Michigan brings its A-game and keeps its close throughout, but in the end, we just can't stop Barrett. Gardner does everything he can to keep us in the game, and the O-Line has made noticeable improvements by now, but its just not enough. 31-21 OSU
8-4, drawing either Florida, A&M or Ole Miss in a bowl game, and I'm tempted to say we'll lose to any one of them. Hoke officially enters 2015 on the hot seat, and the calls for his firing get louder and louder. Recruiting keeps getting worse, and with all the chatter about 2015 being "our year," we forget that we have replace well over half our offense. Gardner is gone, and Funchess has a monster year which allows him to bolt for the NFL. We enter the offseason with more questions than answers.

We're not losing to Indiana. Especially not during Homecoming. Worst case scenario we win in a shootout. Their defense can't stop anyone.
|5 days 17 hours ago||I'm sorry, but you'd be okay||
I'm sorry, but you'd be okay with consistent 7-5 to 9-3 seasons? You'd be okay with losing to OSU every year? Because I sure as hell wouldn't be. If you're okay with those kinds of seasons, then that paints a good picture of how far Michigan football has fallen.
|5 days 22 hours ago||I hope for his sake that he's||
I hope for his sake that he's right. I'd rather not see him gang-tackled behind the line of scrimmage on nearly every run. Doesn't exactly do much to inspire a running back's confidence when he know's he's running into a brick wall of defensive linemen on every snap.

Play against Chris Petersen? I'll happily take it. He's a top 5 coach that will have UW hitting all cylinders within a year or 2.
|6 days 19 hours ago||Have you seen out offensive||
Have you seen out offensive line? Until proven otherwise, we can't be expected to effectively move the ball against anyone. And it's on the road, where Hoke has yet to have a convincing win over any decent opponent.

|1 week 29 min ago||OSU still figures to be a||
OSU still figures to be a pretty dangerous team with this kid at the helm. I think they'll have some growing pains on offense, since I think about 98% of their offense from last year is now officially gone, but OSU is afforded the luxury of not playing anyone of true substance until they play MSU, so he has time to develop. However, unless Barrett channels his inner Manziel, I don't see OSU walking out of East Lansing with a win at this point.
|1 week 15 hours ago||I certainly would not blame||
I certainly would not blame him for wanting to come back, and if he does, I hope he's healthy enough to start next season. I don't know what the right move for Miller is next year. Do you really want to take another year of coming back and getting beat up on the football field for free?
|1 week 19 hours ago||OSU fans would not feel bad||
OSU fans would not feel bad for us, so I refuse to feel bad for them. And honestly, I'm not going to sit here and play that "damn, I wish he was healthy so we could beat them full strength" card. No, Michigan is in the unfortunate position right now where it has to take any win against OSU that it can get. If this helps us even the playing field, I'm fine with that, especially considering the fact that we have to go to Columbus this year. We desperately need to beat them to get some momentum in this program back. However we do it is honestly irrelevant at this point. I'll happily take a win over Cardale "Don't Play No School" Jones.
That being said, I do feel a little bad for Miller, simply because I hope this doesn't completely destroy his chance at getting to the NFL. Even if his passing ability is barely a step above Denard, he still will hopefully get a shot. I will not miss him being in an OSU uniform one bit though. Trying to chase that kid down had to have been a nightmare for our defense, and he was several overthrown passes away from beating us in 2011 and being 3-0 against us.

|1 week 1 day ago||He's in a pretty unfortunate||
He's in a pretty unfortunate situation right now, NFL wise. This needed to be a year where he showed considerable improvement in his throwing, particularly his accuracy. Now he may not get that chance, and his being injured again only reinforces to NFL teams that he's fragile. So, do you take a redshirt year, rehab and bank on 2015 finally being your breakthrough year while taking one more year of getting pummeled for free, maybe injuring yourself even worse? Or, do you take the chance and go pro after this year?
|1 week 1 day ago||OSU fans probably didn't give||
OSU fans probably didn't give two shits when they beat us in '07 without Hart or Henne, and I'm sure they didn't give two shits about beating us in '08 when our offense was an absolute tire fire. So I don't feel bad for them.
