Glad you all had a good time, come see us again in two years.

Hopefully we'll be a bit more competitive by then.

Here's the PA law.

"Staff members of public or private agencies, institutions and facilities" ... shall immediately notify the person in charge of the institution, school, facility or agency or the designated agent of the person in charge when they have reasonable cause to suspect on the basis of their professional or other training or experience, that a child coming before them in their professional or official capacity is a victim of child abuse.

Paterno notified the athletic director and the bureaurocrat who was in charge of the campus police.

Could he have put a call into the State Police when it appeared that an investigation was going nowhere?  Yeah.  That's where my problem with Paterno lies.

That's been one of the main sub-topics of contention.

Without getting into the substance of the rest of this mess (really, I'm punched out at this point, it's been a long two months of writing about this shit), Sandusky had access to the facilities when he was given emeritus status as part of his negotiated retirement package in 1999.  Did Joe Paterno have the authority to revoke that?  No.  Even with admitting that Paterno had way more influence than your ordinary football coach, it was not enough to unilaterally do that.

Just a point of clarification on that.

BuckeyeBot5000 Response To AJ Hawk

"But!  But his parents have a lot of money!  Of course he had $3,000 just sitting around!"

Brandon Graham has at least four or five testicles

He was just great all day, albeit against our third team RT (but I've seen enough of those other two RT's -- they're all kind of bad in their own cute Clark-killing ways).

The good news is that I think you're going to beat Ohio State.

Well, it's one more defense than Penn State runs.

Just ask USC.

That throw to Koger

Sure, it was catchable, but let's not pretend it was totally on the mark. IIRC, it was high and behind the receiver a little.

Catchable, yes. But not the "between the numbers" kind of play that people seem to be making of it.

Iowa > PSU was not an outlier

That was a game clearly won by the better team that night. Penn State's offensive line has improved quite a bit since then, and it would likely be a much better game if it was played in late November instead of late September, but Iowa was the superior team when it was played. No excuses.

Totally reasonable.

The Poti v. Graham battle scares the life out of me, although Poti looked rather good in the second half last week. Clark tends to panic with people in his face. If he can just eat the ball when in danger instead of throwing his version of a STANZIBALL, we should be fine on offense. Protect, throw, protect, throw. I like our chances against M's secondary.

I think it's one of those tight games where whoever has the ball last loses, whether that's a missed PSU field goal or a Michigan turnover. Should be exciting, though.

What Tater said.

I think PSU may have been slightly put-off by the self-promotional aspect of the Forcier clan, but there was mutual interest for quite a while there.

Worked out for both parties, I'd say.

I think there was a lot of mutual interest for a while.

But they eventually kind of grew apart. Nothing scandalous. I think they just agreed to see other people.

I stand with you. I stand against Saliva.

This has been a slow creep at Penn State for the better part of 5-10 years, and it drives me right fucking insane. Honestly, there's a place for a little piped in music. I do not need to hear that infinitely stupid Zombie Nation song (yes, lurking PSU fans, I said it) or Seven Nation Army whenever we stop a team on 2nd and 13.

Also, get off my lawn.
