Cinderella

This team is a Cinderella team in the true sense of the term.  They finished the season .500 and were the 9th seed at regionals.  (Teams ranked #1 and #2 in the Central region get byes to Nationals, while teams seeded #3-10 play in single-elimination regional tournament to determine the region's final 2 seeds for nationals.)  GVSU was #1 and MSU #2

They knocked off #4 Lindenwood 3-1 and #3 Depaul 5-1 at regionals to advance to natty's.  Since they were the lowest seed to advance to Nationals from the Central region, they were placed in a pool with #1 from the NE, #2 from the West and #3 from the Southeast were they went 2-0-1 in pool play.

They play Sparty tonight at 8pm.  They swept us this season 7-4 and 3-2 (at the Big House), but this team is playing their best hockey of the year right now.

Game is streaming live on www.fasthockey.com if you're not watching bball.  You need to register with the site to watch but it is free.

Go BLUE!

IU club team

I graduated in 08 and played club all 4 years.  We probably went .500 against them overall.  IU was always competitive in our league but never a powerhouse.  Senior year (2008), they made a run to the national championship but lost to perennial powerhouse Davenport (Grand Rapids).

I could see them joining the a big ten hockey conference eventually, but not for 3+ years.  Their home rink is one of the worst rinks I have seen in my 20+ years of playing hockey.  "The Frank" is god-awful.

edit: Illinois is a much better candidate IMO.  They have a huge fan-base, are Division 1 club (like PSU, unlike Indiana) and are a always a contender for the national championship.  We played them in them barn when I was a freshman and stole the first game 3-2.  Lost the following night by 10+.  I think we were their only loss for a better part of the entire season (~35 games).

Brian needs to get rid of that jibberish under the banner.  Panic?  Sure doesn't seem like any of these boys are panicing.  I think big things are gonna happen this year and a lot of people are going to be surprised.

In high school I was covering TJ Hensick in gym-class flag football... picked off a jump ball in the end zone and told him to grow a couple inches.

At the CCRB got alley-ooped on by Braylon Edwards... thank god Donnie Wohl was on my team

Totally agree

It is insane how drastic my general demeanor toward the world has changed from yesterday to today... Brian, you really know how to pull on my heart strings.

Cannot flippin wait for uconn

Its hard to believe that no Its hard to believe that no one has come out and said this ridiculously obvious message before... maybe they have but it only gets legs when posted by a current player's dad.
People need to relax about People need to relax about "next year." Hopefully we will pull 1 out these last three weeks which will give the squad a significant amount of extra practice time before the Applebees Riblet Bowl. Couple that with spring practice and the guys will have that much more experience.
