It's been a long week....a few pours of Coppercraft (distillery in Holland, MI) Corn Whiskey should do the trick. Cheers!

This is not my attempt to clog the board or to be a tool. I don't read every post so I missed yours, I apologize. I was just thinking about that conversation I had a couple weeks ago and thought that with no movement from our end, we better have a good back-up plan if we can't land Harbaugh.
I am much more intreagued by Tressel than Mullen, Schiano or field.

If I was trolled, then my mentor would have been trolled too. I have nothing to gain, obviously, by posting this, but I thought it would create some good convo to break up the waiting.
Clearly, many of you have a hard time thinking outside the box, and that is fine. I just wanted to post what I thought was interesting and if Brian gets paid on hits, then I'm doing my part to pay the bills.
This is not a stunt.

A mentor of mine who is close to the program (played at UofM from '73-76') and has ties to Stanford said that Harbaugh is not the head case the media makes him out to be. That combined with another friend who worked grounds for the Colts' summer camps, said he was a very good guy. Word on the street is that Hensley his SF assistants go on date nights while he watches their kids. I don't beleive these are fabrications so I'm not too worried about his character.

"If he decided to go to college, there are absolutely no athletic scholarships. He goes to get his degree, and there is no financial incentive whatsoever to play football (or any other sport). These students are 100% students, and the school's athletic teams are truly, purely created from the men and women who choose to attend that school. To me, this sounds like the legendary days of football yore. The quality of football would never be as good as it is today, but the sense of identity to the men on the field would, in my opinion, be strengthened. Students would watch the games and cheer on their classmates; alumni would think "that could have been me out there battling for my school!"
It's called Division III. As a 3-year letterman in football for a DIII school, this sums up my experience.

That, football fans, is what 21st century football looks like. I'm sorry RR for the Michigan arrogance, would you be willing to come back?
*Ive been a RR guy since Sheridan was throwing "dead cats".

Yes....it's been a long day. But I am looking forward to the game. Nothing wrong with that, right!?

I'm sure I sound like a jerk, but I just dropped my brother in law off at Gerald r Ford Int. and drove back to Holland at about 65. I am fortunate enough to have AWD so it is an advantage, but we are more used to the crappy conditions because of the more frequent snowfall(it seems we've had measurable snow over here everyday since Thanksgiving), like Clarence said. I did laugh at the 40mph comment. NOT because I'm some cool, awesome, snow-driving showboat, but because it's my take that driving that slow is just as dangerous. Neg away you east-siders!
In my defense, I was passed by a honda civic.

Up-tempo, spread roots offense is what I would demand. Sprinkle in some power game when available and I'm happy,

You know they come in here and put up 38pts and we'll struggle to get 21. That's not negativity from this last week, that's just how it goes.

I had a vasectomy on Friday and couldn't even get off the couch so I was forced to watch this crap.

So I went with Truffle Schefflers. Also because I played college ball with Tony's brother and they are a great family.

He will be corrected for not taking a more downhill path on that pull. If he does this then he meets the tackler at a better point of attack and allows Fitz to see the hole quicker. But for goodness sakes, that is knitpicky for the first game! He showed some great footwork!

Every August we make the trip up to Hessel for the Wooden Boat show. It's a slice of heaven! However, waaaaaaaay too many buckeyes meander up 75 for my liking.

Here is a blog article that I found on MGoBlog and found the facts to be interesting. Lineman had a much higher rate of collisions, therefore exposing them to a greater chance of brain damage. If you were to ask me who I thought would be the most damaged I would have said DB's and LB's.
|3 years 32 weeks ago||Exactly||
This thread represents what's great about the Internet. Many opinions and some good discussion. People who can't see this as a valid discussion don't understand what football can do for you personally. We are losing great men for a reason that can be directly connected to something we can change.
|3 years 32 weeks ago||Personal Input||
I haven't chimed in on the blog in awhile but I am so passionate about this subject that I feel the need tonight.
Personal story time so skip if you think it might be lame. I am a 33 year old man who started playing football in 5th grade and ended after a 4-year career at a small DIII school here in Michigan. I was a 3-year letterman and played those three years on the line. I recently have battled a bought of depression, mood-swings and memory loss, although the memory loss has been a longer issue than depression or mood-swings. The depression has required meds, but the funny thing is that I have what one would call a perfect life. Smokin' hot and smart wife who is the bread-winner, fulfilling job, two beautiful and healthy kids and not much debt other than student loans and a mortgage.
Depression happens for many reasons but it really does not run in my family and again, I have no reason to hate life or be disinterested. I have always been a jovial guy but over the last year or so my moods have swung. Like previously stated, my memory has always been weak but I have always chalked that up to being lazy about details.
What I am getting at is that I believe this Jr. Seau thing is no joke. The game we love, play, and worship needs to change. I don't want to lose this beautiful sport. I learned 95% about being a husband, father and man on the football field with my coaches and teammates. However, we have baby #3 on the way and if it is a boy(other two are girls), I will not let him play football. That kills me to write, but something needs to change.
Again, I may not have CTE and what we know about it is very little, but you are lying to yourself if you think collisions in the game of football aren't damaging to the brain.
If there are any Dr.'s out there that would like to use my brain for scans I would be more than happy to donate my time and energy to help the progression of education with CTE and other collision related brain diseases. I would, however, prefer the procedure where you can keep me alive.

|3 years 48 weeks ago||Sharp||
Was that Sharp asking the last question to Denard? Whoever it was, what a douche! One of the best talents we have ever seen, of course much if not all of the offense is going to rely on him....he does touch the ball every play. That is as short as I've ever seen Denard and I thought he handled that stupid ass question with grace.
