I hate to say it, but I think there's a good chance that Nik, GR3, and Mitch all bust. I'm a little worried about Trey too. Timmy Jr should be a solid 10+ year player though.
That Charlotte loss is continually boning us. We'd probably be top-8 without it. Instead, I think we'll be in the 9-13 range. Also, I think the Charlotte loss knocks us down a seed in the tourny. It will make a 3 into a 4, 4 into a 5, and so on. That was a bad, bad loss.
I actually thought it all started over the timeout and foul on GR3. Glenn got fouled, and the refs called a media timeout. Both teams started putting chairs on the court. However, we were in the bonus. The refs were walking off the court. So they were either going to ice him and not let him.shoot until after the timeout, or else they were just going to skip GR3's free throws altogether. Coach B was hot, and then it snowballed to the whole bumping thing. The official went towards the scorer's table, realized that Coach B was right and we were in the bonus, apologized, and the benches packed up their chairs so GR3 could shoot the 1&1.
Izzo relied on having more talent. Now, B1G teams have hired coaches that can recruit, like Matta and Crean. There are a few guys who can coach AND recruit, like Beilein and Ryan. Izzo's coaching "edge" consisted of rolling out and NBA-sized front line, and out muscling under-equipped Big Ten teams. Basically, the league caught up to him, and now he's using the injury excuse to explain his losses.
Beilein will have to work a miracle to win this one. Harris is on a different level than Stauskas. Nik just doesn't have the athleticism and quickness to match him. Their backup bigs are better than our bigs on defense and on the glass. We don't have anyone that can penetrate against this defense.
Not defending the kid, but could it have been that they were messing around and he went too far? I just don't understand why guard #2 seems completely fine with it all.
When did we become the Kentucky of the B1G? It seems like every other damn B1G team gets to keep their core players for 4 years. We're lucky to keep ours for 3.
He's the same thing that (Chris?) Kramer was for Purdue a few years back. A lot of hustle, good defense, favoritism by the refs, and average-at-best offense.
I think GR3 should look at THJr's path. In my opinion, he improved greatly between years 2 and 3. Also, GR3 has the resources to hire trainers to improve his physique (like he did last off-season), and he has the connections to improve at camps or with summer workout groups (like the Nike Skills Academy).
Glenn needs to improve his jumper, and work on his ability to create offense for himself. His stock will soar if he excels at either one of those. Otherwise he's just a 6'6"-ish wing player with great athleticism ... there are a lot of those.
Factors for GR3 ... (1) This draft is loaded. He'd probably gain spots in the draft just by waiting until a less-impressive class the following year. (2) If Mitch stays, GR3 might be pushed to stay. Those two are good friends, and that whole class in general seems close. (3) Money. I'm not sure exactly what his relationship is with his father, but I'm assuming he/they have some money. I doubt GR3 is rolling around in a '92 Honda and eating ramen noodles.
We have no rim protector and no quick on-the-ball defender. It's an open invitation to drive to the lane. The length of Nik, GR3, and Caris makes me think a zone is the only way to turn it around. We'd have to get much better at crashing the boards though. I just don't see any other method to improve the defense. Our guards and forwards are simply not quick enough, JMo & GR3 are undersized, and Horford gets into foul trouble when he gets aggressive on D.
His offense has been much better since Mitch went down. I think he's a rhythm guy ... he needs enough minutes to get in a flow before he can contribute offensively. DMo used to force him to get in the game with the pick and roll feeds.

Good luck to him. He's built like a rock. I really would have liked to see him prosper in Maize & Blue.
Penn State won the game tonight against Nebraska. The win moves them from Dead-Last to Slightly-Less-Dead-Last.
Nebraska moves from 2nd-to-last to Almost-last.

Rumeal & Fisher ... highlights and lowlights in Michigan history.
Lol, no way was that a foul ... I'll take it though.
I think he does radio in Wisconsin ... or maybe just does radio for the Packers
Every time Nik has to chuck one with the clock running down, all I can think about is his all-time 3pt %
Run Home Jack
GR3 coulda/woulda been a hell of a wide receiver.
Jesus ... GR3 was shot out of a cannon. He gets up quick.
Nik holding up the Goose ... Larry Bird style.
Reminds me of another Michigan - Penn St game ... grrr
We should be up WAY more than 7.
Nik & Caris gaining muscle over the summer ...
Nik might have the best stroke of all-time (at Michigan). Lou Bullock was the best prior to Nik IMO.
I heard he even tweeted at Kate Upton. Can you believe that?
