If we beat Rutgers, then .....

If we beat Rutgers, then Hoke is one step closer to make Michigan Bowl Elgible.

Good Morning

Drinking Coffee, and wishing all in Wolverine country a very Good Morning,.

Not an average team.

I have to say that the current Michigan team is not a typical team where the stats and odds pointing to go for it on 4th down.  Heck, since touchdowns is such a rarity in three games played, Michigan has to get points however and whenever it can.  Therefore, going for the FG is the correct thing to do.

I disagreed

Another year of collegiate ball will make him a better NBA player.  Simply put...another year to hone his skills where he is deficient.  Should he go into NBA this year, he will be a rookie riding the bench, and has very little opportunity to improve his skills.  Given another year, he will be fighting to save his seat on the bench with the next group of rookies.  An given another year, there may be no more room on the bench for him.  Regardless, we have to wish THJ the best of luck in prusuing his dream to play in the NBA.  Go Blue.

Stats are misleading as you

Stats are misleading as you have evidenced.  However the perception as displayed by the by by the various draft rankings are real, and will influence the various NBA teams in the order they are drafting.  THJ needs to improve the "perception" for the draft, and that can only be done by returning another year.  He won't have the chance to improve his NBA game by sitting on the bench.  Given another year, he will compete with another crop of rookies for his seat on the bench.  And given another year, he may even not have room on the bench for him.  For this year, if there is a possibliity of going in the second round of the NBA draft, where there is no gurantee of a longer term contract, THJ should not even consider entering the draft,  I believed that his real motive of going into the NBA draft is that he always dream of going to the NBA, and he was never a Student Athlete, but an Athelete Student.  He simly did not like studying, and/or struggle in his studies.  He is now pursuing something he likes to do, and that is Basketball.  So it is time to say good luck to him, and we will move on.  GO BLUE!

Ring Pricings

Practically all those rings in the 1K to 9K ranges are called Salesmen Samples.  Theyare the samples/duplicates of the actual rings given to the specific players.  Actual player rings worth a whole lot more, but 90K is way too high.

THJ's career prediction

I totally agreed with you.  I will go as far to predict that he will eventually have a nothing career in the NBA.  At best....possibly a couple of years on the bench, and then possibly the Euorpean League.   As a player in college, he was very good.  There are flashes of brillience, but not a consistent performer.  Should he go pro, he won't have the chance to get better.  After another year on the bench, he has to compete with new rookies for a spot on the bench.  That bench gets real short real fast.  Still best of luck to him pursuing his dream playing for the NBA.  Go Blue.

Student Athlete vs Athlete Student

Obviously, THJ going pro is not of family financial hardship...I personally think that he is a Athlete Student and not a Student Athlete.  He does not like the fact of hitting the books.  If one likes basketball over studying, then one has to quit school and follow your dream to the NBA.  Good luck to the young man.  Go Blue.

Stay in school OR Going to the NBA

It's simple....Returning another year is an opportunity to hone one's skill, making one a better player, thus a possible better draft position.  THJ current draft statust is low first round at best.  If the possibility of going into the second round with the no gurantee of a contract, then that should be one's incentive to stay in school just to get better.  Of course he could be a "athlete-student", note not "student-athlete".  If he was a athlete first,,,, and student second...then i cna understand why he would want to go pro.....simply stated...he simplydoesn't  like to study.   Regardless of his decision......we will wish him the best.   Go Blue!

Point Guard play

From my perspective, a team's success will be measured by coaching and the play of a proven PG plus a very good Post man.  Obviously our last year's success was Trey our PG.  We still have the Post man for the new season.  I would like to see a PG who can handle the ball and drive to the basket more, and when the defense collaspe on him, then he should be able to stop on a dime to shoot accurately, or dump a pass to anyone around the basket.  Stop and think about it. When the game National Championship game was close at the end, the UL PG's made the plays, attacking from the high post screen/picks, and scored and pull away.  I cannot stress enough on the importance of proven PG play.  As for coaching, I like to see a strategy to screen the man defending our point guard, so he has more immediate options to attack the basket without a defender in front of him.  If you don't screen out the defender, the PG will first have to beat his man, before he can attack the basket.  GO BLUE!
