|11 hours 8 min ago||HA!||
That was me, and I've been stalking you ever since, waiting for you to admit I was right!!!
|11 hours 16 min ago||Ace, you aced this one!||
Great write-up, and it's nice to look back and see how much "kids" like Funchess and Lewis grow up and progress through hard work and dedication.

stretch out your timetable a bit---Michigan only has one West Division road trip per season thru 2016 and two in 2017:
2014 @ Northwestern (Nov. 8)
2015 @ Minnesota (Oct 31)
2016 @ Iowa (Nov 12)
2017 @ Purdue (Sept 23) & @ Wisconsin (Nov 18)
...so it's gonna be a long wait for a road game @ Nebraska and Illinois.
I've been there for Michigan @ Purdue 6 times and Michigan @ Northwestern 5 times, and once each to Camp Randall (33 seasons ago!!) and the Metrodome, but I'm seriously considering each and every one of those road trips I listed above. Purdue and Northwestern are both short, easy trips from this corner of Michigan. Minnesota is a must-go, as they finally have their own stadium, and its been way too long since my last road trip to Madison, so those two towns are overdue for return trips. I have yet to make trips to Iowa, Nebraska and Illinois, so yeah.
As for the East Division, I've made the road trips already to Ohio State, MSU and IU, and hve little desire (for various reasons) of returning to any of those venues. Eventually I'll also finally make the trips to the far east for Penn State, Maryland, and Rutgers, but we play them every season, so the opportunity to make those individual trips come up every other season.
14 teams is too many. NO to further expansion---its a little ridiculous to miss other conference teams for 4 or 5 straight seasons! Further expansion would make that problem even worse.
|12 hours 29 min ago||When do we get||
Nebraska back on the schedule? I just looked under "Useful Stuff" at the future schedules and don't see them listed thru 2017. But we do get Rutgers and Maryland every season---yay!?
|14 hours 32 min ago||Not ready to drink yet,||
and wasn't planning to drink at all tonight, but after seeing the thread title, well...
FUCK IT, I'm having that one cold Founder's Centennial IPA that I spotted in the fridge(but first going to earn it by hitting the bike for half an hour).
|1 day 17 hours ago||Sincere condolences to you and your family, Seth.||
I lost my dad at age 86 back in early December 2011 and still think of him and miss him a lot. The pain does subside over time but never completely goes away; gradually, though, the fond memories of dad bring smiles to my face a lot more than any other emotion.
My prayers are with you.
|1 day 17 hours ago||No, you're not alone||
in thinking this is an "awesome" idea. At very least, it's a huge improvement over the bleachers that used to be there. I've made the road trip for the Michigan @ Purdue game 6 times over the last 30 years and have sat in the south end zone bleachers 4 times. Probably among the worst seating in the Big Ten, the only reason to sit there was to be among the rest of the Michigan fans who made the trip.
I even like the idea that Purdue students will NOT be banned from that area, though they will have to purchase a special pass in addition to their student ticket. It appears that students at Purdue aren't treated as 2nd-class citizens.
|1 day 17 hours ago||Here's what the Patio Area will look like:||
...that's the scoreboard behind the tent, and several rows of permanant bleachers directly behind the goal post and end line, enough to seat appoximately 1000 fans.
|3 days 13 hours ago||It's a dead heat||
between MSU and OSU at this point. Just so sick and tired of losing to both of them right now that there is no f'n way I am ready, willing, or able to deal with having to again "wait until next year" in those two rivalries.
As for those chicken-s***s? Let them eat figs, but as much distaste I have for ND, if Michigan has to lose to one of those three teams, lets get it out of our system there. (And its not easy to say that, being that I'm only a bit over a half-hour away from ND and would have to listen to those hens cackling about a win for a long, long time.)

|4 days 6 hours ago||Good catch!||
I see I typed "MMB" correctly the first time, then got it wrong the next 5 opportunities. A big FAIL for me. Maybe next time I get up and on MGoBlog at 4:30am I'll have a coffee first.
But thanks anyway for understanding my rant. One point I forgot to include was that they should also change the title of that day's show to "De-evolution of Band", or maybe "De-evolution of MMB" (there, I finally got it right this time).
|4 days 6 hours ago||And there they go,||
advertising being brought into Michigan Stadium and injected into the U of M Game-Day Experience, in the form of sponsorships. In how many not-so-subtle ways will the names "DirecTV" and "Hundai" be emphasized ad nauseum those two games?
|4 days 7 hours ago||"Oh-boy-do-I ever-wish" department:||
"11/22 vs Maryland
MMB Halftime Show: "Evolution of Band" "
Wouldn't it be great if the MBB could go all "Stanford Marching Band" on Dave Brandon and show what "Evolution of Band" really stands for (in terms of the screw-job the Michigan Marching Band has endured, as wow-factor RAWK music has crowded them out) ?!!
Sure, there are some great things that the MBB is still allowed to do, but I am sure that I'm just one of many who has gotten fed-up with the MBB being drowned out by the same old tired stadium-anthem stuff (and I'm not talking about just Seven Nation Army, but pretty much all the stuff you hear in practically every NFL stadium and in too many other sports venues). There have been way too many instances in which the MBB has been several seconds into playing something when the press-box DJ hits the "play" button and drowns them out.
Maybe for that game's halftime show, the MBB could dramatize that by marching into formations while playing several bars of a song only to get interrupted by a deafening stadium anthem as the band scatters and ducks for cover. Then do it over... and over... and over, again and again and again, to make their point.
Enough already, and don't forget to F'N GET OFF MY LAWN!!!!
|4 days 15 hours ago||I wish A.D. well at Illinois.||
I think he's a good get for the Illini and I hope he succeeds there. Besides, it's never a bad thing when other B1G schools (other than maybe Staee and OSU) pick up talented kids and strengthen their programs, especially as long as Michigan gets and stays a step ahead of them.
A stronger B1G is far from being a bad thing.
|4 days 16 hours ago||I will admit it,||
other than the last few World Cups, I've never paid much attention to soccer. But the more I watch these World Cups every 4 years, the more I realize that even a 0-0 game can be pretty exciting ---except when it's settled by a penalty-kick shootout.
Can't they come up with a better way of settling games of such importance? It really comes down to the goalies guessing right or left/wrong as to which direction to dive. Might as well flip a coin....

Very thoughtful of you to leave those spare keys in their regular spot!
BTW, when are you planning on being back so we can clean up the debris/repair the damage and/or bail out before you return?

I HATE BRUSSEL SPROTS!!!
They look like baby cabbages, they taste awful, and my mommy used to make me eat them--- yucky!
|5 days 2 hours ago||I'm extremely certain||
he's referring to Bellomy. And I strongly disagree with what he said---even if Bellomy is buried in the depth chart the rest of his Michigan career, I'd still love for him to again see the field and feel some success, rather than forever be labeled as the QB that blew against Nebraska, as he seems to be thought of by many at this point.

our ancestors came from all over the world, shouldn't Brian's picture contain a couple of mutts?
U S A ! ! !

I wouldn't wear any of those hats if someone gave them to me.
The only two things I care at all for are the white pull-over and the 2014 Student T (which my daughter already got for me for Father's Day). The rest of it is feces.

|6 days 11 hours ago||Excuse me, while I take this thread||
a bit OT:
Some of you---at least the bigger baseball fans among you---may already be aware of the significance of today's date. For those who aren't, July 4th is the 75th anniversary of the most memorable speech in baseball history, Lou Gehrig's Farewell Speech. Here it is:
I'm not at all a fan of the Yankees, but I am a big fan of baseball, of baseball history, and of Gehrig. I just got done watching Keith Olbermann and was stirred by what Olbermann had to say about this speech and of Gehrig. Wanted to make mention of it, especially after reading Gehrig's full speech and then watching the video of a small portion of it embedded in the link. Got goosebumps from doing so...

someone they let get away after last season: Joaquin Benoit. According to USA Today, the Tigers have been talking to the Padres about a trade to reacquire Benoit, who's got a 1.30 ERA as a set-up man for San Diego.
