Tigers will keep Benoit as closer, use Veras along with Smyly in the 7th and 8th innings.

Year 3 under Rodriguez is identical to Year 3 under Hoke. We have not improved. Also, we could easily be 4-7 right now. Some of those wins are functional losses. But tell me more about how great things are...

It looks like Benoit will continue to close (from Danny Knobler on Twitter - I can't embed for some reason):

I'm not certain he's going to close, but it will be nice to have some more help with late innings.

I'm guessing "DB" isn't "wondering what happened to Beilein and the program in such a short time frame" because Dave Brandon is smart enough not to evaluate the status of a major program by only looking at a three week period in which nothing that could be construed by any reasonable person as "negativity breed[ing] negativity" took place.

Raoul: The article doesn't say anything about where McGary places Duke among the final six. It simply says McGary's parents favor Duke.

No, I'm well aware of the last four years, thanks. As I said above, I just think this is overkill. I don't think that's that controversial of an opinion.

For what reason do they need to travel around the country and "get the former players pumped up?" I'm not being a smartass. I really don't see why it's necessary. I'm not saying they need to spend all of their time watching film like has been suggested above.

I don't understand why this is necessary or a valuable use of the coaches' time. I understand the perceived need to "mend fences" or whatever, but if this is true, it seems to be overkill.

Butler lost two starters and they were pretty important. Gordon Heyward was their best player and a lottery pick in last year's NBA draft. Willie Veasley (who now plays in Japan) was a critical defender that, like Heyward, could guard almost anyone. Their struggles early this season were almost entirely related to defense. They've found a way to make up for those losses.

He's an asshat. One thing I've always hated about the tournament is that CBS injects him into the mix when things really start to matter, i.e. the conference tournaments and ncaa tournement. He has nothing to do with college basketball all year, and then we get to listen to him drone on and on about the most important gamesr. He's not really good at it, either. While I dislike his style, generally, and don't enjoy him calling golf, at least he's more suited for it.

He's taking some time off after signing day? There's probably not a less eventful time for recruiting all year. Although, I guess he could be reporting on offers going out.

I don't think I'm missing anything. You're suggesting you came to this realization that it wasn't going to work out sometime after the nutjobs who said he wasn't a fit from the beginning? Was that after the 2008 season? 2009? This year?
I don't really care. And, I think you've got the idea that I have a certain opinion on when/whether he should be fired. The truth is, I'm there now, but I was on the fence before the bowl game and after OSU. I think I've come to that conclusion thoughtfully and don't regret anything. I just find it funny that people are seriously claiming it was so horrific to have been on one side or the other because of things like mgopoints.
