How exactly does Tressel compare in the snake-oil department these days? Sure, there have always been whispers about his recruiting tactics. But that happens to every coach who recruits well. Often it's hard to separate the truth from the sour grapes.
I haven't seen much detailed, credible info about Tressel's tactics. Not lately, anyway. So how does he stack-up? Thanks.

I think one ought to be careful about comparing football to war, especially when we're at war. I understand that certain strategies can cross lines. But still. And here I'll note Kellen Winslow Jr.'s (in)famous speech about being a "warrior." I'd imagine many actual soldiers took issue with his job-description.

Speaking of safeties: just one year ago, everyone was over the moon about the incoming freshman Isaiah Bell, who was among our highest-rated recruits. He was redshirted.
Meantime, it's as if he vanished from the face of the earth. Am I missing something? Otherwise, it's a little early to give up on the kid before he's played his first down as a freshman, no? For all we know, he could be terrific. He was ticketed as such.

I'm new to this big place, and a lifelong M fan, and this blog is amazing. And I hope to hell hope RR comes out of the whole mess unscathed. But I keep wondering: Is anyone worried that the NCAA investigation may actually turn out badly for M?
The NCAA did say it found enough cause to, at least, investigate further. This tells me that there's at least some chance that there's something to all this (god forbid).
But everyone else seems to assume the NCAA will totally exonerate RR and, by implication, discredit the Freep. Is everyone really that confident? I wish I were.
Thanks for indulging a rookie.
