This list is completely arbitrary and not a genuine analysis of the relative merits of state fossils.

appears totally unaffected by anything Burke did, even a blocked referee could see that. |

Here is the official university blurb about the plethora of colors used by different units. Notice how they page displays two completely different colors called PMS 7406. |
| 37 weeks 1 day ago | Why I-formation |
I don't know enough to comment on the "Run Denard more" debate, but even if you aren't going to run him, what is with the I-formation? I thought I read some stuff here that last year it just didn't work.
Other play call questions: Option to Rawls when you need 1 yard? Why do so many running plays from the spread look like the backfield is huddling after the snap? |

Glenn or paul, ok. Or maybe name him after a coach with a little bit more humane attitude. |

Cronyism is bad when you hire poorly qualified people because you like them. Cronyism is good when it helps you hire superstar assistant coaches. |
| 44 weeks 3 days ago | Death to the BCS |
The Death to the BCS guys have it right: A 16 team playoff, all conference champs plus at large teams by committee to fill out the brackets, and run by the NCAA. Rounds 1-3 in December at higher seed campus, championship early January in Pasadena, the bowls can do what they want. The number of teams and games is not excessive, it is pretty much what they do in FCS, D2 and D3. |

Watchu talkin bout willis? Their last two games in B1G country were both against Penn State, in 2011 and 1989. There only other games outside the South in that time were at UCLA in 2000 and a couple trips to Hawaii. LSU played at Washington 2009, Arizona St 2005, Arizona 2003, Notre Dame 1998 (Gerry DiNardo!) ...Just for reference, Michigan's last regular season away game outside the midwest was Oregon in 2003. The last one that Michigan won? Syracuse in 1999... |
| 1 year 21 weeks ago | Stuckey isn't that old |
he is just not that good, at least as a point guard. Prince's contract is for four years I read, and he is not overpaid for what he can contribute. They do have a lot of 2-3-4 players, hopefully Knight at point guard makes them better than Stuckey did. |
| 1 year 24 weeks ago | BCS is a joke. |
In a rational world, State would not be ranked below Michigan: they beat UM, they were ranked ahead of UM until losing a very close championship game against an opponent we didn't play. Now maybe UM would have beaten the Badgers, but we will never find out.
All of this is qualified by the fact that the BCS is a joke. At least 2/3, the Bowl part isn't a joke since the Bowls are calling the shots, but the Championship and Series parts are a joke. A football team that wants to play for championships instead of $17 million dollar exhibition games would be advised to switch to FCS. |

It doesn't matter who plays and wins in 'National Championship Game', there will not be a clear national champion. For that you need Championship Subdivsion, or D2-3.
News Flash: The BCS is a joke. |

is no guarantee of future results. Bruce, Cooper, and Tressel didn't exactly have Urban Meyer like credentials before they went to Ohio. I wonder if the Big Ten is not as friendly to celebrity coaches as some other conferences, due to recruiting to cold weather states, ethics, etc.
Different topic, and I haven't searched exhaustively, but why on earth would Ohio hire a head football coach with initials UM? |
| 1 year 34 weeks ago | No piped in music |
Go to a state game, its all piped in, all the time, and it sucks.
MMB could play SNA. Or LA Woman. They already play Led Zeppelin it's pretty cool. USC played NIN at the Rose Bowl, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZFsGcH9mSJw. At the ND game they played the MMB over the speakers, if you want loud. Or pull Superstition out of the back catalog. And being Ann Arbor, they got no excuse not playing Black Sabbath's Sweet Leaf at least twice each game.

| 1 year 37 weeks ago | tough + disciplined <> abusive asshole |
You can be tough and disciplined without being abusive. Michigan, of course, has never had an abusive coach. Right? Right? Not Woody Hayes abusive, or Charlie Bradshaw abusive, for sure. |
| 2 years 17 weeks ago | No Mich Men in 07? |
No "Michigan Man" available in 07? What about Les Miles, that's who everyone wanted. No "Michigan Man" acceptable to Lloyd Carr? That's another story. At the time, I thought that Rich Rod was a good choice; young, innovative offense, record of building programs. What surprised me was how he could let the defense fester in complete ineptitude and not take action. About all I can conclude is that I overestimated his accomplishments in the Big East, which is looking more and more like the Junior Big MAC. That was also the year the Jerry Kill went from SIU to NIU, and he would have been a riskier but plausible choice if you wanted a non-Sabanite. |
