No chance! getting out of…

No chance! getting out of that ravine after a Rose Bowl game is a slowboat to China. Shuttle Busses are plentiful and the system is decent, but it still takes half of the rest of the evening to get out of the valley let alone getting to an airport 1.5 hours before a flight.

Football people see the…

Football people see the nuances this game brings out, and non football people don't. Same as it ever was!

Don't Go! Let the Washington State guy have the pen all to himself.

The scoreboards were nice,…

The scoreboards were nice, but the sound system, which was supposed to be this major upgrade was negilible to me, especially the on field host. His mike came in and out and even when it was functioning fully, he was hard to understand. My two long standing pet peeves from over 30 years of in stadium experience is the lack of replays on an equitable basis and the out of town scoreboard or lack thereof. I want to see all the replays and more of them. Michigan has always maintained a "good news network" policy for showing replays and it still continues. If the news is favorable you might see it again. If its murky or bad, you probably aren't going to see it. I've been to several road venues and almost every single one has delivered a better replay and in game video experience than UM does, even Northwestern. Many times each season Im caught saying to myself that its a shame that the people in the stadium paying for the ticket are the last to know on many of these replays. My case in point was the near interception on a incredible play near the visitors sideline that was overturned. Unless I totally missed it I dont think there was a single replay shown of that near interception. The upgrades were nice, but its still clear that the production end of the system still needs some work. The only other points I'll add were, I heard many complaints from others about slow concessions and running out of food long before the end of the 3rd quarter. I did not go up myself but it was a constant refrain from those around me. Lastly the time of possesion for each team, needs to be moved away from the actual stadium game clock. All three of those clock numbers in such close proximity, confused me several times before I started to differentiate where to look. Don't get me wrong, nothing beats the live game day experience, but from a video production standpoint, UM has a long way to go for this longtime fan.

Feldman is consistently…

Feldman is consistently bearish on Michigan Foootball and this surprises me very little. He is the Beano Cook of the 2020's. At the end, he  will write the "wow that was surprising" piece when UM does well.

The Hawaii game in 2016 was…

The Hawaii game in 2016 was a noon game and Hawaii was on a road trip, except the road trip was not Wisconsin, but Sydney, Australia against the California Golden Bears. The 63-3 outcome was fairly predictable and something similar should be forthcoming Saturday, although I suspect we will be as kind as possible, since I believe we would like to schedule another game in Hawaii in the next 10-15 years.

We should never accommodate…

We should never accommodate ND again!  I believe that unless they join the B1G soon we should opt out of the 2033 game as soon as the contract allows, the same way they did to DB in 2012. To Hell with Notre Dame! If they wish to remain independent, they should not get the benefit of playing against B1G teams.

If he sticks even for a…

If he sticks even for a second on any NFL roster, I will disown my own eyes as a football talent evaluator.  He scared the crap out of me, every time a real receiver type substance lined up against him and my fears were eventually realized more often than not. The fact that he was our top option for a period, that was incredibly too long, was and still is a serious indictment on talent evaluation at the corner position. After a crazy long run of excellent corners, we were quickly reminded what the other end of that equations looks like.  Best of luck to Mr. Gray, hopefully he can make it in the CFL with only 3 downs of lucky needed to survive.

Most of you freaking out…

Most of you freaking out every recruiting cycle is kind of fun to watch!

Relax, Michigan will recruit, same as it ever was! some ups and some downs, but the overall trend line with remain the same.

Family Room (see #2, same seat)

Home watching on TV, but cant agree that this was a "where were you when" moment?

In East Lansing Section 6 row 10. He ran right past me at the goal line

and I'll add one.  I was standing in the tunnel of section 9 trying to leave to make a wedding reception, but just couldn't leave for some reason when Kordell Stewart made his historic heave into Westbrook's arms.  While it was heartbreaking, it was still kind of cool to be present for such an iconic play in the annals of College Football. I was in shock for about 24 hours though.

Love the choices! Been a fan…

Love the choices! Been a fan of Doug since WTKA when I could actually get the signal in Sterling Heights. I was surprised they didn't pick a PBP guy with experience, but hopeful that Doug will find his niche and succeed!  Anyone worried about him going to to MSU shouldn't.  He has always been Blue!  Jansen is a slam dunk. He is perfect for the job, just like Brandy was perfect for color and absolutely not perfect for PBP.  Jansen will know what to say and when to say it. Since I go to most of the games, I don't  listen a lot, but I certainly with be interested to see how these guys do.  It's not as easy as it seems and I'm hoping they both do well.  It definitely sets up for a seriously solid PBP/Color combo for many years to come.

You mean Capital One was a leading sponsor? From my seats in section 132, I could hardly notice!

So disappointed to see…

So disappointed to see Valentis' name on any type of thread here!  He trashes Michigan 24/7 even when he is saying things halfway complimentary. Michigan is always in his mouth, and on the off chance I listen in, it is always the same. He will now talk up Michigan and say things, hoping he can be right about something and toot his own horn. He is knowledgeable, but it will kill him to see Michigan succeed going forward. His only defense is to pick UM now and say I told you so if it happens. Wash, rinse, repeat!  He's a bandwagon, ratings whore and will say whatever he wants to get ratings.  Now that all the discussion will be about Michigan, he will frame it so he cant lose.

If Michigan wins, it will be "See, I told you so".  If they lose he can relish in "Same old Michigan, cant win anything".  Anyone who thinks he has any objectivity towards UM,  has not been listening closely. I was so  hoping he would go to NY. He would be perfect there and probably not last very long. He has a nice sheep following here, which is why he stayed.

18th time for me. 16 in AA and 2 in Cbus.

This game hits different. Always has, always will

The party starts at 6am at Pioneer and hopefully ends on the M at midfield around 3:30 and a trip to Indy next weekend. #GoBlue

Will be attending my 18th edition of "The Game" on Saturday -16th in AA, and a couple in C'Bus.

Rolling into Pioneer west side parking lot at 6am ready to party (23 degrees be damned). Chili and Brats on the menu, with lots of Fireball and Captain Morgan/Rock N Rye in between. Here's hoping we play the inspired game of our lives and the post-game celebration is memorable! Everything about this game always feels different, no matter the status of the teams. Can't wait for Saturday. I love knowing all of the eyes of college football will be looking at Ann Arbor for 3.5 hours from noon til 3:30.  ooops  I meant 4pm since it's a Fox game and there is no chance they will let it finish by 3:30 :)

Maybe we won't get OSU's…

Maybe we won't get OSU's best game? That right there is hope enough. Granted they've been playing well against overmatched opponents, but maybe they have a bad game in them with 3 turnovers and 50 yds in penalties. Could happen? Hope springs eternal.

This entire thread sums up…

This entire thread sums up the first 4 weeks of coming out with the playoff rankings.  Its all about creating discussion and drama.  They sit in a room and set the canvas. Here is our group of 8-12 teams that have any realistic chance, now how can we rank them so people will talk about it all week, and then after the games we can reset the canvas and come up with another story.  In the end, the games will tell the story! Its like a WWE match and we consume it like Turkey on Thanksgiving.  Win the damn GAME! then win the next one (which everyone is just kind of assuming?) and nothing else really matters. The committee has every out covered and an explanation already planned out for any choice they make.

All of this offensive talk…

All of this offensive talk is cute. But, in the end, we are going to get ours and the true story of the game will be how do we keep them from getting theirs? It seems inevitable that this plays out like the MSU and PSU games, in that 4-5 key plays or mistakes will ultimately be the difference. Hopefully we learned some things in tight situations that OSU has not had to face lately and the football gods shine on us for a change. I can't wait to see it!

great write up per usual!…

great write up per usual! Thanks

As was mentioned earlier, the patience of the backs and  the decisiveness in which they are making their cuts has been tremendous.  I am being reminded of Le'Veon Bell in his prime as our backs read the play and make their moves. Hopefully this continues as we start to see better D lines and more penetration and run blitzes. We have become accustomed to complaining about the backs missing the open holes in previous years and that certainly has not been the case so far. Can we sustain this momentum against better defenses? It sure looks promising.

Thanks!  A nice start to a rainy Sunday morning.  This puts me in a "Michigan is going to be alright" kind of mood. We need the injury bug to leave us alone for awhile and hopefully this team can build some chemistry that translates to some on field success.

So you would rather lose 49- 35 over 35- 21. Ok, I get it. Any thoughts not directed at the defense at this point is a huge mistake. The idea that the Lions will win by outscoring its opponent in an offensive shootout is outdated.
